House of the Witch
(2017)

No
Group of teenagers get stuck in haunted house. Get scared, try to break down the front door with a wooden chair. Chair breaks (obviously), then proceed to the window and knock on the glass with hand. Thats the stupidest thing I've ever seen.

Gets one 1 / 10 because the girls are pretty. I turned it off after about 15 mins, don't bother.

The Mandalorian
(2019)

Fantastic!
I enjoyed every second of this seires and await season 3 with open arms. As some reviewers have said this is how you capture the feeling of starwars while creating of a new fresh story. Literally brought a smile to face all the way through and the season 2 finale ....... no words to explain. This seires and possibly 'Rouge One' are carrying the Starwars franchise on their shoulders.

This is how its done Disney, now you just need to sort the main story films out and you are flying. 9/10, its worth paying for Disney plus just for this. Binge watch it in a couple of days then cancel it until 2022 for the next season haha.

Apostle
(2018)

It was an ok watch.
This film was an average watch. If you are expecting more you will be disappointed. I'm sure the idea and the plot were all good and accurate but it just wasn't that entertaining as an horror film.

For starters the horror aspect of the film didnt really get going until an hour into the film. There is no argument about that, no matter the build up it was boring for the first hour. Then like snapping your fingers it turned into a gore / horror fest. Unfortunately by that point I'd lost interest in the film. It kind of didn't really know what it was, this film could have easily been a thriller until the hour mark.

I could go on to analyse the rest of this film but I feel it there is no point. It seems to me that the reveiws are split from one end of the spectrum to the other.

However do realise that this film even if you enjoy it is not a 9 /10 rated film and if you are rating it at that, stop because your a fool. I'm going with neutral rating of 5 / 10 and for gods sake (pun intended) do not pay for it.

Need for Speed
(2014)

Its actually pretty good... but
This film really annoys me because its actually quite good. The cars are amazing, the racing scenes are also very good, the scenes / locations that are in this film are awesome too. The story plot is even ok, its just the final race that spoils it all.

The whole point of the final race is the winner takes all the cars hence millions of dollars, but all of the cars get destroyed so it kind of renders it pointless.

Other than that its really good and is well worth a watch. 7 /10 is a fair rating.

Terminator: Dark Fate
(2019)

Why did I bother!
I don't actually know why I did this to myself. Its the same base story as Terminator 2 Judgement Day apart from its a slight bit more complicated and the savior of human kind is now a girl / women instead of John Connor. Who they kill off within the first 30 seconds of the film! Which by the way renders two of the greatest scifi action films ever made completely pointless.

Its the equality version of Terminator 2. They tried to latch it on to the end of Judgement day but by killing a young John Connor it completely destroyed the point.

This franchise should have ended at Terminator 2. Sky net was destroyed and so was the last Terminator, end of story! I don't even know why I bought this film, its done nothing but annoy me.

Underworld
(2003)

Good movie
Underworld was the best of the seires. It was stylish. It held a simple storyline and the acting was good. For that matter this one had the better actor lineup. I like the Lycan design in this film and the transformations are pleasing too.

Kate Beckinsale in a tight leather outfit and boots is always a winner.

Give it a watch its a good film. 6 /10 is a fair rating. Its on amazon.

Blade II
(2002)

Its was ok
The biggest challenge that this film had was that the first one was so good. I don't know what it was about Blade two it just didn't work as well. There were too many special effects, the fighting was to commercial and even the acting wasn't as good. I mean for gods sake he did a wrestling move in one of the fight scenes. The balance and feel of the film was not right. Blade's kind of love interest vampire women didn't really fit in with his character either. He's a hard arse vampire killing machine and not at all sentimental, apart from maybe about his mother.

They introduced a hybrid vampire / monster thing which didn't help things either. It very rarely works when they do that, look a aliens vs predator for example. That kind of put the vampires and Blade working together to kill it, but the hybrid has the same sunlight weakness as the vampires and has nowhere to hide but rhe sewer. Just find the sewer in the day and drop a UV grenade in there. Boom film over. It just didn't work. The fight scenes were good in the most part but that wasn't enough to carry this film. Even Whistler returning was kind of rubbish. He died in the first film and I feel they should have left him dead. The whole idea of Whistler returning was to bait Blade which doesn't make sense, because this group of vampires were nothing to do with Frost' group in the first film. Just no. The first Blade was good the rest of them after that weren't, end of story.

4/10. Its an ok watch but that's it. Don't bother paying for this film.

Blade
(1998)

Classic vampire action
This original Blade film was awesome. The first 15mins of this film were just fantastic. It had the right music, action, set, just awesome. This film gained at least one star for the sound track which was playing during the blood bath scene, which went on to be copied and named "operation blade". The orginal was far better.

The story line was fairly simply no twists and turns. It was just a good old fashioned vampire hunter film with lots of action and vampirey goings on. Stephen Dorff played the cocky bad vampire wanting grandeur really well and Snipes was awesome as Blade. Even the lesser characters were played well. The feel of the film was good too. It was dark but not too much, there wasn't really many special effects, apart from the odd jump scene and the vampires disintegrating when killed, it all added up to the right feeling for the film.

This is how vampire films are surposed to be made, nowadays their mostly about vampires falling in love with the human girl rather than eating her.

I feel for this genre of films this will always be one of the better ones and holds a well deserved 7/10. I watched it recently its on Amazon Prime, so if you have that go watch it.

Crawl
(2019)

I was actually pleasantly surprised.
I went into this film thinking it was going to be terrible. One of those background films that you don't take notice of, but actually it turned out to be quite good. I don't really know how real crocodiles / alligators to act so to me the CGI and the actions of these reptiles were spot on. The detail of them too was quite good, especially the underwater shots of them.

The story was simple and there really isn't much to talk about. The lead female actor did well and fit the role well. Considering that most of the film there were only two characters I still found it quite gripping. You could question the realism of the situation of the film but these types of films are rarely realistic.

6.5 / 10 is my rating. I found it quite enjoyable and was really surprised by the end of the film. Its on amazon prime for free, to be honest if I was to rent this back in the day from blockbuster I'd have happily paid £3. I'm telling you, there are plenty, plenty worse films out there. Give it a watch.

It Chapter Two
(2019)

Pretty much the same as the first one.
Its quite a good softcore teen horror film. Some of the monsters that have been imagined are quite impressive. I thought the flicking back and forward through time was done well. All in all it was quite good for the type of film. Once again Skalsgard was epic as Penny Wise. I think he's an awesome actor and I enjoyed Hemlock Grove for the same reason.

Only issue this film has its pretty much exactly the same as the first IT, apart from they are now adults. Seriously they pretty much could have done both films as one and it still been the same.

5/10 is a fair rating, its an ok watch if you have nothing else to watch.

Edit: The first 10 minutes are completely pointless and is nothing to do with the actual film. It could have been a part of the story but you never see any of the characters again. Annoying actually.

The Old Guard
(2020)

Its ok
By far the best bits in this film are the fighting scenes, you can't argue that. The idea of the movie is interesting and has some potential to be better.

Its not the best film in the world and just sits in the meh.... category. Easy to watch without really worrying about it.

The biggest thing that's lets it down which I've mentioned time and time again about films now a days, is the equality/political correctness. In fact its not just films its affecting computer games too. The producers/writers seem to be more worried about the correct balance of black, white, Asian, gay within the film. Surely when writing a film you think about storyline first and foremost. If you take the Joker or Pulp fiction two films from complete different times which are both fantastic films, the storylines have come first. The new Elton John film, Kill bill, Aliens, these are some examples of fantastic films with a mixture of lead actors from different genders and situations. The difference is it wasn't forced and was the story that was intended.

The conclusion of this is films are getting rated inaccurately. Rate it on the film rather than the fact it has a female black gay lead for no reason. This film is a 4-5/10 film, it was ok and I enjoyed parts of it especially the fighting and action.

The Farm
(2018)

Not horror just really rubbish and weird
I like horror movies, mostly even the rubbish ones hold some sense of creepiness and horror. However this one was just boring. The idea behind this film is weird and messed up but as horror value goes there just wasnt any. I just wanted it to end due to it being uneventful. They could have done so much more with this.

Zero stars, I'm not impressed, not one little bit! Theres two hours of my life I'll never get back! Dont bother.

Doom: Annihilation
(2019)

Just no!
I've seen some really rubbish films in my time but this one..... wow.

Zero stars, just dont bother. I dont actually know how this was passed on to be made.

The Fast and the Furious
(2001)

Awesome classic!
This one is by far the best film of the franchise. Filled with countless tuned Japanese import cars, fast car races and chases. Introduced all the main characters that we know and love in the other films.

This film came out when I was in high school and started my love for cars. Even today the Toyota Supra 2JZ is the best car ever made in my opinion. Just an awesome film to watch especially if your into cars. Some of the sayings will live forever from this film.

7/10 is a fair rating. No where near a 10/10 film but still a personal favourite. Watch it you wont be disappointed. RIP Paul Walker.

Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw
(2019)

It was entertaining but stupid
It was entertaining and I really enjoyed it. I find it hard sometimes to remember this is a fast and furious spin off. I'm a big fan of the original fast and furious film back in 1999. The rest of the films got more stupid as they went along.

Statham and Johnson bounce of each other nicely and is quit funny at times. The action scenes are enjoyable and impressive. All in all it's an action pack funny film.

6/10 is a fair rating. Its ludacris and silly at times but it's a fast furious spin off so I really didnt expect anything else.

A History of Violence
(2005)

It was a good film
I'd like to say first and foremost enough with the 10/10 ratings. This is not a 10/10 film regardless of who directed it. This site is not director category site. Rate it on how actual good it is.

The film itself is ok, the storyline is simply but keeps you interested enough to finish the film. I feel it took a while to start. The transition parts where Tom Stall changes into Joey were good and well acted. I feel the film threatened to be more but never really pushed the envelope. The gore and sex scenes weren't bad at all and showed difference between Joey and Tom. The last bit of the film at his brothers mansion was the worst bit. Firstly a big mob / gangster has three /four guys to back him upon a situation like that, plus Joey's/ Tom's blood and finger prints would be all over the place. It just ended really rubbish.

6/10 is a very generous rating for this film. Watch it but dont be expecting a 10/10 film.

Tag
(2018)

Its funny
I enjoyed this film, it's funny and is a feel good film. The fact that there are groups of friends that actually do stuff like this in real life is heart warming and epic. Some of the things in this film are stupid and over the top but it's a film about a 30 year long game a tag. Dont take it seriously and just enjoy it.

6.5 / 10 is a fair rating.

The Lion King
(2019)

It's a quite a good watch but not as good as the original.
This was pretty much an exact remake of the original but with CGI animals. It was good to watch and I found myself singing along to all of my childhood favourites.

The one thing that didnt quite work for me is a couple of th cast choices. Jeremy Irons was such a better scar, in this version he just wasn't evil enough and a bit flat. Same problem with zazu. You'll never beat Rowen Atkinson at being funny and that's what zazu was missing. Other than that it was all good.

6/10 is a fair score. It wasn't record breaking or anything but it holds a nostalgic value.

Rocketman
(2019)

It's good.
I can't say or compare to the truth behind any of Elton John's history but I enjoyed this film. Not really a fan of his either but still it's a good film. I'm quickly beginning to see the talent behind Egerton he's becoming an awesome actor.

I give this 7.5 /10. Its definitely worth watching.

The Avengers
(2012)

Start of something awesome.
This was the start of something marvelous! (That's a really bad joke sorry). It was a good film, excellent cast, good action scenes, pretty much everything you want from a marvel universe movie.

I do feel this was the weakest one out of the Four but it was still great to watch. The on scene chemistry between the characters/ actors was good too, I felt this help in the later films. There were some parts which were annoying and didnt quite add up but they were minimal.

All in all a good film, 7 / 10 is fair rating. Some of the other marvel films in this timeline are better, so my advice would be to watch all 43 of them.

Saving Zoë
(2019)

Was ok for the genre of films.
Generally I dont watch these types of films. I fancied something different and to be honest it wasn't to bad. I wouldn't describe this film as good but rather gripping, especially in the second half.

I've never seen 13 reasons why but I've heard about it, this seems very alike, obviously the biggest difference being that a diary is used rather than a seires of tapes. I didnt think the acting or the chemistry was to bad considering most of the characters were surposed to be mourning a death. Some people have made comments about the actors looking to old for the characters ages........ It's a film ultimately about underaged unconsensual sex!? What were they surposed to do hire actually children? Dont be stupid!

If you like this genre of film then give it a go. I give it 6 / 10. Not really my cup of tea but cant really give it a unfair review.

Bumblebee
(2018)

Was ok but disrespectful to the original 00s movies!
Why is that people in the film business think its acceptable to produce a film that directly wipes out a previous film trilogies timeline / storyline just to satisfy the present day political gender rubbish and also have the straight up disregard to try and latch it on to the beginning of the originals.

Note: it's not ok to completely disregard the original storyline just to fit in a female lead. Actually do some talented writing and make it fit. I really am getting sick of it. They did the same thing with the Terminator.

Good stuff - Bumblebee's fight scenes were good.

Bad stuff - everything else!

3 / 10 poor and annoying! Dont bother watching this if your a fan of the originals. Just watch the originals instead!

Lucky Number Slevin
(2006)

Interesting, enjoyable and clever film.
I re-watched this recently and I must say it's quite good. It's got a good cast, its humorous, clever and very interesting. I enjoyed every minute of it. The only thing I would say negative about it is that its quite obvious with some of the characters, most notably the identity of the main character. That aside it was good.

I give it 7.5 / 10. It's not quite made it to the category of the standout amazing films but it's just below it in my opinion. Watch it you'll have a good time.

Aladdin
(2019)

Not as bad as I thought it was going to be.
Aladdin was a childhood favourite for me and I dont think they did to bad with this as a remake.

The casting was good, I even thought Will Smith wasn't too bad as the genie (which I had my doubts about), not really any comparison to Robin Williams in the original. The story was good and they kept to the original for most of the film and even the changes they made fitted nicely, and coincided nicely within today's world of equality. The acting was good and I actually had a laugh watching this and remembering all of the old songs which I loved as a child.

I give it 6.5 /10. It's not a record breaking film by any stretch of the imagination and the original will always score higher but I enjoyed it. It's worth a watch.

Power Rangers
(2017)

It was actually quite good.
Right ok its not the best film ever made but it wasn't the worst either. However it's a film about the power rangers! How good is it going to be.

The nostalgic fun was awesome. I used to watch the power rangers back in the early 90s when I was about 9 years old, it was the best thing ever. If I was that age now I'd be giving it a 10/10. A pretty good casting and they hit all the right spots with the action. Still dont understand why the blue ranger drowned in 20 seconds but other than that things made sense and there was lot of comparisons to the original. They included the original "go go power rangers" song which was awesome. I would be lying if I said I didnt get a little bit excited about the mega Zord.

Give it 6/10. I was going to be 5/10 but the mega Zord and the original theme song pushed the score up a bit. Give it a watch it ain't bad and at the very worst it'll transport you back to your childhood for a couple of hours .
