Battleship
(2012)

6.2 is too high guys
Why would some one give this movie any thing above 5 (and that too is a stretch) is beyond my comprehension other than may be they have not had the luck to see good quality action movies. After all it is noting but a Aliens movie (breaded ones this time, don't really know whats the insinuation)but if you compare it with some classics in this genre like Aliens, Predator, this movies would probably find the bottom drawer. The all too predictable story of a loser turns hero in the hour of desperation, is all stale bread. The Aliens look too human by the way and the idea of getting them dressed in the Iron man suit was a pretty lame joke.

Guys there is absolutely nothing worth watching here unless you want to watch it with your 13 year old kid who is restless and has been bugging you continuously.

Dark Tide
(2012)

Full Marks for the camera work
I am a little perplexed by the low ratings but the question is what does one expect from a Shark movie. People have compared it with the deep blue sea but this movie would trounce the former hands down. Probably the best shark movie after Jaws.

Extremely impressive camera work. True did'nt get the goose bumps but was treated to an amazing photography especially the larger shark shots in the Shark Alley. Halle Barry looked a little woody in the beginning but then came into her own as he movie progresses. Oliver Martinez was impressive though and could do with some meaty roles. This movie deserves to be watched.

Ne le dis à personne
(2006)

You really cant ask for more
Masterpiece by every standard. Canet has taken it to a new height having achieved the perfect mix of human emotions entwined with suspense and thrill. At no point in time in the entire 121 minutes do you ever have that dragging feeling. François Cluzet was at his amazing best playing the suffering husband but the star of the movie without any doubt was Kristin Scott Thomas. This is how great actors make everlasting impression in a movie even without even a major role.

Despite being in French, the English subtitles without ever being intrusive and imposing, never let you lose the feel and emotions. Compactly plotted, beautifully directed and acted, its worth every minute of what other wise seems to be a lengthy movie.

If you want to spent a quiet Friday night with your spouse, rent it and watch it. It ll give a new perspective to your lives.

Unknown
(2011)

Excellent worth for time spend
There are very few suspense thriller movies that impress these days and Unknown was one of them. Extremely well plotted and directed, this movie makes your savor every moment of the 113 minutes running time.

Liam Neeson seems to have carried on from where he left taken but has taken his performance a notch higher by being more than just a woody action hero. Diane Kruger once again proved that she does not have to rely only on her looks to make an impression and impression she did make. Elizabeth Jones also did justice with her character but an actor of the class of Adrian Quinn was really wasted.

The way every thing is bound together till the end make this a must watch. Just try and ignore some of the lengthy action sequences and you ll feel satisfied at the end of this roller coaster ride.

Dawning
(2009)

It was neither horror nor a pshycological thriller
The movie starts like a typical horror movie then lost focus. Did not know if the topic was family problems or something evil outside the cabin. anyways it stayed that way till the end. Absolutely no plot of any kind. It was as if a family had gone into the woods for a vacation and then all of a sudden decided to make a movie during that time. Najarra Townsend acted well but the rest of the cast was awful. The attempt to induce horror through the killing of the dog failed to have any impact and in fact diluted whatever little suspense that was building up. It was all too familiar. loosely woven plot, awful acting, lack of direction left a bad taste.
