Season one was fantastic with a good mix of mystery and horror to it. On the other hand, season two was a huge let down. It contained very little of what made season one great and was instead filled with tedious exposition and poorly pacing. Perhaps the worst part is the overall payoff, the finale. I don't want to post any spoilers, but I will say that they basically compressed what could have been a third season of content into an slideshow wrap-up. It was very disappointing, almost like they gave up on caring and just wanted to move on to another project. Overall 7/10, but only because of season 1. The second season is at best a 5/10.

ST:D helped lower my expectations for Star Trek, but nothing could have prepared me for this dumpster fire.

This is a show that's trying to be something it shouldn't be, for an audience that doesn't exist.

I loved TOS, TNG, Voyager, DS9 and even Enterprise. But the new Discovery, and now Picard, are not the same. They may have much better special FX and expensive production values, but the story telling is terrible.

I prefer The Orville to these new versions of Star Trek.
