You could tell it was a video game adaptation without being told. I didn't know anything about the game or this film. I thought this is like a video game very early on.
There is no real plot to it. It rambles on from scene to scene without moving forward.
The first half makes some sense. The second half just abandons the need for a plot completely. It makes for some tiresome viewing.
The visual appeal of the film is huge, with lots of things going on and and atmospheric appearance all throughout. This is good.
Sean Bean might as well not have been in the film as he does next to nothing in this.
While visually stunning, the lack of plot or story weighs heavily up on it. It's actually a really poor movie.

MOST slasher films like Friday the boring 13th or Halloween are so ridiculous with idiots being idiots and continuous stupid decisions being made all over the place.
This movie is great. It's relaxing to watch. You don't have the stupid people being one dimensional idiots.
The killer isn't just someone in a mask. He has a great face which you get to see close up and the makeup is fantastic.
The kills are fresh.
I found it captivating just plodding through the lovely wilderness coming across victims.
There is a maturity to this film that was refreshing and welcoming.
It breaks the mold of the slasher film.
