Spielberg's autobiographical film folly doesn't quite translate to me unfortunately.
It's got all of his normal bells and whistles and storytelling techniques, but because it is so personal, it almost felt like the messages couldn't get through.
It's a bit too much of a vanity project for me.
Michelle Williams, while ever lovely, always feels like a good star to steal the show from the side-lines, and didn't totally fare well being more central to proceedings here.
Overall, as much as I went into this wanting to love it, I just didn't. I recognise the quality, but something just got lost in translation.
