Catch Me If You Can
(2002)

Catch this one!
Not a huge fan of "based on real life" movies I saw this with some doubts in my mind. Many "based on..." movies come across with docu-drama feelings, plot holes due to time constraints, some shady comments that seem out of place unless you are already familiar with the real life events and various other unappealing material. Catch Me if You Can does *none* of this. The story of a young man with incredible talent who puts himself in unbelievable situations all searching for some kind of cosmic truth. This story could not have been written better if it was fiction, and the fact that it comes from a true story makes you really want to take a look at the people you pass on the street. It makes you think twice about the human race and leaves you feeling good.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
(1997)

Blood-Stained Tearful Farewell
From the time the pilot aired in March 1997 I have watched this series almost religously. Through the genius of Joss Whedon and a talented team of writers the charaters that were introduced 7 years ago have fleshed out and grown with us. Unlike many vampire-related movies, shows and themes "Buffy" deals not so much with being a vampire slayer in a world of demons and creepy-crawlies but with being a girl, growing up and living life while being the slayer in a world of creepy-crawlies. Its a perspective you don't expect before and truly appriciate after watching the series. Through high school on the hellmouth, dating, the loss of friends and family, the forming of lifelong bonds, the unusual, unexpected and unconventional befalls a small group of people who manage to find out that no matter what they have each other. Its the telling of all of our lives, with a somewhat darker twist. I am truly grateful for the experience and bid Buffy, Xander, Willow, Giles, Anya, Spike, Dawn and the many many more a bittersweet farewell.

Interview with the Vampire: The Vampire Chronicles
(1994)

Still Livin'
Its dark, and does justice to the book, a claim not too many movies can make. Being able to take charactors from a book and portray them properly in a movie, still adhering to the time constraints is not an easy task but is done wonderfully here. This has been my favorite movie since the weekend it came out. I read the books, and love this movie.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer
(1992)

what a sucker!
The movie, Buffy, is actually a creation of the popular series creator, Joss. But unlike the show the movie is campy, bubbly, and basically just fun. It takes a look at life as a vampire slayer from the point of view of a californian airhead in the early 90's. you really have to watch this with no expectations and it is a lot of fun.

Alice in Wonderland
(1985)

Crazy Good Time Fun
I remember having this on tape as a child, recorded right off the tv when it originally aired. It was one of the most fascinating things I had ever seen. The all-star cast, originality and fun of the entire thing is portrayed by all. There are scenes included from the book that you dont see in any other version of the movie. It truly is a movie to remember.
