Mystery Island
(2023)

What were they thinking?
It isn't that hard to write a decent mystery. So, why did they give us this mess? Picking up evidence without gloves...Running around a jungle in high heels... "Stealthily" following a suspect wearing bright colors...sneaking around the open floor plan mansion in an over the top way.

The acting was over the top, the clothes were ugly and what little affinity you felt for some of the characters was wasted with the poor script.

While the idea had much promise...we can only hope there isn't a sequel. Or, maybe they scrap this mess and start over fresh with new writers, actors, set...new everything!

NCIS: Los Angeles: A Land of Wolves
(2022)
Episode 8, Season 13

Taking The Easy Way Out...Again
I have two issues with this episode... 1. Same old...same old.

We've seen the Mexico/Rescue/Cartel/Illegals storyline quite a few times. Why can't we get some fresh ideas out there?

2. Bad white American soldiers.

Why not tell the story of how the Cartels use and abuse those crossing our border illegally? Why not tell how Coyotes abandon their charges or kill them outright? Why not tell how nationalities other than Hispanics cross our border illegally? Nope! It's more acceptable in Hollywood to make America the evil ones.

I'm so disgusted with this season of LA. Might be time to ditch this show. 😢

NCIS: Los Angeles: Fukushu
(2021)
Episode 2, Season 13

Too Much Preaching
I love LA...my favorite of all the NCIS shows. But this episode went overboard with the preaching. And the acceptance of the vigilantism at the end was so disheartening. At least the Admiral spoke out briefly on the bad choice the son made. But seemed to condone it eventually. The closing scene with people watching the video also implied agreement with the sons actions. All around terrible episode.

If You're Gone
(2019)

Very Good Heartfelt Movie
A very good movie. Not sure why some are so against it. There is some Christian themes, prayers and church scenes. But it not an overly, in-your-face 'Christian' movie. The turning to God when faced with tragedy was very believable and not exaggerated. It's a movie for the entire family...nothing objectionable. Sure, some of the acting wasn't that great. But, overall I really enjoyed it and recommend it. And, I was very happy with the ending...no spoiler...just think it was a great way to wrap everything up.

Wedding Crashers
(2005)

One Of The Worst
This movie is disgusting, raunchy, foul, full of unnecessary sexuality...and it wasn't even all that funny! I've paid and sat through some stinkers in my 20+ years of movie going...but have only gotten up and left in the middle of 2 movies...this was one of them. Shaking my head is all I can do...can't figure out why they had to go to such extremes. Guess the writers, actors, directors never heard that "less is more"? The premise should be a good base for a funny movie...but the end product here was terrible! And, I'm very disappointed in Jane Seymour...don't know what she was thinking. If I could give it less than 1 star I would.

Too Young to Kiss
(1951)

GOOD, CLEAN, FUN
I just saw this movie for the first time today. The description reminded me of "The Major and the Minor" which is a movie I have watched over and over. While neither movie is Oscar material both are fun & romantic. If you are in the mood for light fare find June & Van in this one and enjoy.
