The Jungle Book
(2016)

Childhood Rebooted
Nostalgia, ain't it enough to say "Hi Mowgli, again" ?

Probably you started to see these fabulous fictional scouts of Rudyard Kipling on your momma's lap, now just replaced by IMAX recliners.

The tale plunges straight into the heart of India and it leaves you begging for more & more & more. . as it wriggles at a blistering pace from character to character. That Shere Khan, Bagheera, Raksha were animated...really!!. . .R u serious?. . God!! their circumstantial detailing will leave you at awe.. Can't stop myself, the honey collection scene will bring multiple smiles, giggles on your face (not spoiling more, see yourself), yes, Balloo stood out to be my favourite with all those witty lines stuffed with humour (Bill Murray, u r awesome) Each time the Majestic Sher Khan announces himself, audience get onto their toes then the jungle dwellers, yes!! I mean it. Try holding back your tears as the legend slowly wraps up taking its own chunk of time. The JUNGLE BOOK is not a movie, it's an emotion where the only dude driving the epic is, our little hero Mowgli. You'll fall in love with Gray for sure.. not only Gray, all those tiny little cutie pies jumping, dancing doing all sorts of cute stupidities..man, they are diabetic sweet.

This movie is not to be rated (IMDB won't allow that), Just go, LIVE it... Age NO bar.

Dunkirk
(2017)

The Race Against Time
What can be better than returning Home? Nothing..I suppose! Hans Zimmer probably delivered the most riveting and immersive sound experience of his career which essentially keeps the urgency of the matter Alive and Kicking until the closing second. Nolan retorts to his unusual story telling delicately knitting the different horizons between Land, Water and Air which unfolds at their own pace eventually culminating at the goal.

DUNKIRK has it's script limited to the secluded evacuation of Allied forces from the clutches of a dreadful and merciless German army. It's the sheer brilliance of a terrific screenplay and direction combined with a captivating background score which testifies the horrific sequences which the Allied forces would have battled through the intermittent Nazi strikes. The other beauty of the movie lies in the nano aspects taken care of throughout the 107 minutes of visual excellence resulting from a genius Cinematography. One such would be the sequence involving Spitfire pilot Collins to escape his defunct jet somewhere in the English Channel while the water gushes in leaving a dead drop silence throughout the theater. Farrier and Mr Dawson get their share of heroism to display which was essentially a race against time as the enemy was round the corner.

DUNKIRK is probably, in fact, the best IMAX movie which you can enjoy in a 2D atmosphere till date. A movie which essentially demonstrates the emphatic usage of time and resources to represent the cause vividly. A war has it's own emotions associated, returning home is altogether special! Kudos DUNKIRK team, both the real and the reel! 8.5/10

Dangal
(2016)

Road To Gold!!!
Sports, the most important discipline of life, reboots your spirit mentally, physically, even professionally irrespective of you being a sportsperson or not. So also is DANGAL which primarily soars high on a balanced cocktail of women empowerment, discipline, emotion & moral values has captured the ardent relationship between father and daughter so candidly that you will find it impossible to control back your tears. Visionary veteran Mahavir Singh Phogat, against all odds of society, religiously manufacture his raw and uncooked daughters with utmost care prior to their introduction into the World of Wrestling which has been deliciously portrayed (literally yummy) by the ingenue Phogat siblings. While the energetic songs blend in seamlessly with a masterly written screenplay, the elder Phogat siblings raise the bar to the horizon performing through bout to bout. The choreography of bouts feel incredibly authentic on mat which is yet another genuine flavor in the biopic & as a vivid sports follower I must say that the dramatized scorelines will maintain the tempo upwards inside the theater. The entire cast & crew and the witty dialogues are again the contributing factor in this successful biopic besides the unnecessary pre-climax stunt and yes, Aamir- take a bow!!! It would be a sin if you don't watch DANGAL, it's movie of this era, it's gonna etch real hard on your thoughts and reverberate again and again. Go Play! Live your Life! 10/10

Hacksaw Ridge
(2016)

Triumph of Spirit
Battle depictions are always going to be gut crunching & emotionally disturbing whilst there is always that calm soothing subject to keep the platoon sewed, well this time it's in form of a godly medic in the Battle of Okinawa in 1945 WWII. The incredible true story of Corporal Desmond Doss is genuinely heart wrecking and has been captured aesthetically on the big screen right from his uncustomary childhood to his admission into the B-Company breezing through a rather-fascinatingly presented love life. Mr Director strikes the right chord while sailing past the humanistic approach to "hell of a battle" churning out the triumphant as Spirit of an individual. Aptly titled as HACKSAW RIDGE, it's been supremely uplifted by it's cast & crew probably making it the Best Movie of 2016, even from the technical front. The movie climaxes with the clips of the real life soldiers expressing their grief and pain which might force out a drop of gratitude rolling down your cheek. Don't miss this masterpiece. 10/10
