Divination
(2011)

Cheesy effects but a great story
This was a low budget film, because of the effects, but it was well written and the acting was good. One actor stood out - it was Fear! His rant about how humans can do things more devastating than he can every imagine is epic!!!

It lost 2 stars because of the effects but story wise, this is generational!

Star Trek: Discovery
(2017)

the story has some great acting, but....
When I invited the fellas over to watch an episode of discovery, they all agreed the character Micheal was bad arse. However they did not like the gay scenes, as they spit out the beer and threw popcorn at the screen. Then they started to talk about all the syfy that has gay scenes in them today. When you think about it those scenes 10 years ago would have never made it to television...I had to put on a rented movie. I understand that being gay should be more acceptable by enlightened people today, but all of main stream America is not ready for it in there living rooms, for their children to see and in front of grandma Are we being forced to accept same sex partners? What happens when the truth comes out about the cat lady jor man's best friend etc...

The Oath
(2018)

When out gov't does immoral stuff
The synopsis of this show is wrong. It should have been when our gov't does something immoral this is the possible outcome...very timely movie and worth watching.

Charmed
(2018)

On the fence.....
First of all, I think everyone should have a job. But everything I have seen so far is OVER THE TOP! The show lacks focus, the acting is eyeball rolling. The level of stupid that the writers keep throwing at us: the fema-nazi ideals, incoherent rants, obvious wrong choices and enough makeup on each actor to choke a horse is a good reason to cancel the show. the only things that keeps me watching is: 1. there is nothing else on at that time slot and 2. I am hoping it will get better.

DC's Legends of Tomorrow: Their Time Is Now
(2016)

taking notes...
The plot is thin some of the time, the acting reminds me of some of the 50's serial space programs but Caity Lotz has all the smooth moves for picking up women. Its like watching a female Captain Kirk!

Wonder Woman
(2017)

where is the plane...
I guess you can't see it because it is invisible :) The best superhero in this century!!! She has all the great qualities that make a hero plus she is super and gorgeous. She is a but kicking, no nonsense person (finally). Great actress!

Krypton
(2018)

Too many odd things
It seems this series could not afford lights, but wait! Its on Krypton with a red sun. From an anthropological viewpoint, wouldn't there eyes look different, there skin color different? (get some lights)

Then you have a whole population of people living where speaking out, acting out against the religious government will get you killed. Without any cause, depending on your classification.

Then there is the hero, grandson of a scientist, who is dumpasalog! Even though someone comes from the future and tells him about is future his family he continues on a reckless path of self destruction. With all the advanced tech, its dark all the time.

Did I mention it is filmed in the dark.

Stargate Origins
(2018)

I blame the writers, producers and stock holders
This is just wrong. Never mind the bad production or acting, the script was not just off it was wrong on every level. In that period men not only said stuff like stay back I'll protect you they actually did what they said especially the military. Out of all the men in the world the 3 she was with were stupid and weak. Her father the "scientist" couldn't figure out 12 symbols after studying them for ten years. (I wish I had that job). The 2 military men guarding her, had guns they did not know how to use and the fighting skills of a 6 year old girl. All the while these things were being pointed out, Kathrine (the Hero) kept pulling Femi-Nazi phrases on them. I have nothing against gay, feminist, even nazi's, but this show went there in the 1929 period and bashed everyone who was against gay, feminism or Nazi. You can almost see the pitch the writers and producers were given the stock holders.

If you want to jump start Stargate franchise again, start SG-2 (not U)

Madam Secretary
(2014)

I like the show, but there is something missing......
The manufactures of the show describe it as "A political drama which looks into the life of the Secretary of State as she tries to balance work with family." but I think it should be described as "a political drama that involves egotistical, maniacal, doddering, and duplicitous politicians involved in the Secretary of State work." I like the show because of the multiple characters she faces down. How she gets them to do stuff is also kind of cool - she manipulates. But, in truth, I believe she has the weirding way (from Dune). "Yes, we just blew up half of your country but forget that now. Come to my party at the white house and we will discuses how much you owe us for doing that." Her voice is soothing, you have to obey! I like her voice. I think what is missing is some kind of truth(s) about her - yeah, she was with the CIA but something deeper about her....

Black Lightning
(2017)

there is a lot going on here.
Despite what the haters are saying there is more going oh than just pre-judgment. There are father daughter issues, sibling issues, ex wife issues....education vs police state vs criminal solutions...apparently the black lighting can see through these problem and wants to do something about it. but their are obstetrical s in his way

Justice League
(2017)

It started with potential...
It started with potential, batman was batman, wonder women was wonder woman, but aqua man, flash, and cyborg were all different characters from the TV series, and Superman looked like the last superman but.... Not to take away from the actors in the movie, but disappointing. Then they hinted about the Dark Side, which was the greatest villain in DC comics, but did not bring in the Forever People. Lastly the big villain of this story was easily defeated with 6 punches and then carried off by his own minions. As for the portrayal of the characters-Wonder Woman seem to be the only one serious about fighting for what she believed in, everyone else was in joke mode-by the way, not funny! Overall, the visuals were great, and we got to witness how the Justice League was started. However, in my opinion the script sucked.

Inhumans
(2017)

I've read the comics...
I've read the comics and now I have seen episode 1. Knowing Black Bolt says very little if anything in the comics this is what I expect from his character in the series. Most of the Inhumans comics started out slow and I expected that in the series. BUT

the ending blows. why would someone stop the show in the middle of a sentence. It does not make me want to watch the next one...

Star
(2016)

Too many...
The show moves like this issues, issues...drama, drama, drama. Great Music! I recommend physiological evaluations for everyone on the show because its high end crazy. I feel for the youngest member of the group, because her issues and drama was inflicted. Even with all the drama and issues- the music is smoking, and its the only reason I watch!

Supergirl
(2015)

look, up in the sky......
The show has its merits. Supergirl battles bad people. But, I think the writers miss the point about Supergirl. She is older than Superman, smarter than Superman, wiser than Superman and has a full handle on her Kryptonian powers. The fact that she looks younger than Superman is a bonus due to her 17 years in the pod while traveling to Earth. She came to earth to "protect" her younger cousin. Even though she looks young, she is far older, when she puts on her costume. At her best Supergirl is a warrior, at worst a warrior mom. But, Hey, its TV. I believe "Cat Grant" is the real star of the show because she exhibits the maturity that Supergirl should have. On the other hand Superman is just a lisp away from being flaming. Way to go Hollywood!!

Luke Cage
(2016)

Luke Cage
I read the comic and this Cage is different. He doesn't get mad, kill anyone or use a gun. What you are viewing is an educated black man that is strong and bullet proof, around a bunch of others that are either controlled my their emotions or stupid. At first view the show seemed dead in spots, then I went back and looked again and those dead spots had relevance today. "he is always thinking." Even though Luke was the star, the councilwoman was really scary. She reminded me of Hilary Clinton.

The hoody scenes were extremely funny. This show could have taken place in any city were corrupt people live. If you watch it, imagine Luke Cage in Washington D.C.

Star Trek: Renegades
(2015)

Engage...
Some things were out of place for a 24th century civilization. The uniforms did not fit. No one (including the hologram) shaved. Glasses? Did anyone look in the mirror while putting on make-up? The plot reminded me of a Chinese western. The background music, oh, please turn it off.

However, the cast of characters, were good to see. I hope they are in the next star trek movie or TV program (and there should be another one, soon). The film was high quality. Next time call me; I work for food.

All in all, In my opinion, the story was not engaging. the only thing that made it watchable for me is: I am a fan!

The Last Ship
(2014)

What-if...
This is not a "real true-to-life show"....it is a WHAT-IF! The story unfolds from the what-if and the writers do a hell of a job telling the story. The thing I like about the story is the "what would you do" questions that constantly arise. Suddenly you are in the story. You look at all the angles then you are called upon (as the arm chair quarterback) to pull off an escapade you agree with!

I like the show! You are able to relate to the characters(Actors) and their circumstances! I sometimes wish it was 2 or 3 hours long. My greatest fear is the show will slow down and everyone will start talking about their "feelings."

If the writers are as good as I think they are, this show should run 8 or 9 seasons!
