Johnny-the-Film-Sentinel-2187's rating
Madame Web is Hollywood diarrhoea given an amount of money better unmade films have only dreamed of being given. Sony has wrung its Marvel leverage outside Spider-Man COMPLETELY dry, and the creative bankruptcy on display here is miraculously woeful!
What the hell were they actually thinking with this disaster!? The editing is atrocious, the screenplay is as empty as the film's own lack of ambition, the actors are prisoners to Madame Web's overall lack of direction and purpose, and it's just not fun to watch. Even with the whole 'bad movie factor' Madame Web is an endurance of 'bad taste' cinema. It's Spider-Man cinema WITHOUT Spider-Man, Marvel without the Marvellous (fully intended play-on words there) world building, and the worst possible case of 'gotta-make-the-movie-to-keep-the-rights-no-matter-what' since Fant4stic.
Madame Web gets 1/5 stars. 2/10 IMDbs. Better films have never seen the light of day: and yet Madame Web somehow got a full-scale release!
