Dream Scenario
(2023)

Social Media, the curse to mankind.
I am a biologist myself. The film is spot on in its depiction of the dangers of social media and how it is effectively making humans weak, timid and paranoid.

There is one instance in this movie where Nicolas Cage is explaining to his daughter and to the audience, in vain, how the dreams of individuals are of their own making and that he should not be blamed for it. That is the central message I think of this film.

Throughout the industrial revolution mankind slowly moved away from the herd/group mentality and evolved into structures of people that although were a community, were still considerably individualistic and unique in their own way. Creativity, art, progress, rationality, individuality, emotional intelligence, freedom of expression, a sort of happiness thrived in such a society.

Social media is slowly taking everyone back to the swarm culture, the herd mentality, the rigid group. This is where fear and paranoia dominate. Rationality and common sense looses in favour of social conformity overall anxiety and timidness.

Unfortunately you can't rate any movie below 1
Realistically this movie should a have negative score. Everything about this movie is cringe and third grade at best.

One is allowed to take certain liberties and come up with his own interpretation as far as that person respects the source material. This movie does neither.

Graphics look like they have been taken from a videogame. Dialogues sound like they have been written by few instagram and youtube influencers who got together on a saturday night.

Ramayan is one of the greatest Indian Epics. It is rich in its material with wonderful situations and events. An epic that has no comparison whatsoever. The makers don't even seem to have a single acive brain cell because Why somebody would ruin it and ridicule such a beautiful thing is beyond me..

Hypnotic

I don't understand the low review scores
This is a decent entertainer. The low budget is apparent , however it is way better than today's most High end production movies, and definitely better than what Marvel or DC has done in a year.

Most importantly the movie has a heart and a soul, it sticks to the story, keeps it interesting, keeps the viewer engaged. It has twists in the right place. Twists that although somewhat expected are pleasantly surprising. It makes for a good weekend watch.

It is not a propaganda movie. It doesn't promote any thing or strive for gender or racial equality( which messes up the story) . It's pure entertainment.

Masters of the Universe: Revelation
(2021)

He-Man is the side character in this one😐
Pathetic sell a show as He-man and give him at best 20 mins in the entire series. Women empowerment is good. Dosen't mean it need to be showed into everything. Weak helpless men , Strong muscular women. Just pathetic.

Films these days a re more about propagandas than stories of morals or characters or just plain fun. Sad reality.

Zack Snyder's Justice League
(2021)

The Epic we all deserved
This is a proper comic book movie, all 4hrs and 2mins of it. There is just so much of the movie to enjoy. The opening sequence is spectacular. Also how the movie is paced and placed. It is never boring. Something important is happening always. Snyder develops characters and builds them perfectly. The loop holes in the Whedon cut are fixed. Also The whedon cut seemed a cheap attempt at making a super hero movie but the Snyder cut is the real thing. It is a proper DC movie as we know . Big budget , big shots , complex plots and spectacular super hero action.

Now the only thing that remains is to restore the Snyder Verse and the quintessential DCEU.

WandaVision: The Series Finale
(2021)
Episode 9, Season 1

The ending ruined the build up
So I agree with the hardcore MCU fans that this is just build up for MCU Phase 4 and these fans will vehemently defend it. But why spend so much time in a commendable buildup and end it in a whimper.

So many questions unanswered. eg Why was Wanda telecasting the episodes? What happened to the Original Vison after the fight? Why did nor Wanda use the Scarlet Witch powers in the Movie Endgame?

This series has just proved that the MCU will always be about build up and hype for its future projects but those in themselves wont be that fulfilling. It is just one long PR strategy.

Russian Special Effects are better than Hollywood
This is a decent sci-fi movie. The special effects, alien space ship and the aliens are superb. the story is also good. the screenplay could have been aided by a touch of common sense and logic but is Ok. The special effects are terrific and I have to say much better than some recent Hollywood movies.

Criminal
(2016)

Could have been much better
Kevin Costner is the heart of the film. His recovery from a deranged psychopathy into an emotional caring person is the hallmark of the film. His mental state and it's gradual evolution is something that the actor and also film manages perfectly. The rest of the film is made just joining these pieces to make a edge of the seat thriller, something which it does not do very well. there are too many plot holes, too many stupid scenes and logic defying decisions by the director as well as the writer.

But, at the end of it, I wouldn't say I have wasted my time watching this. But it could have been much much better.

The Little Things
(2021)

The frustration of going for perfection
I think this was an excellent movie. The performances of all three Oscar winners make up for the lack of pace and action in the film. As with the onscreen cops, I myself was left frustrated when a straightforward answer to the mystery was not provided. And that, I think, is the whole point of the story, to bring the forth the helplessness and the disappointments felt by cops to the fore. I think in the end both the protagonists (Washington and Malek) get some kind of closure. Deek, knowing that he probably has ended his case that left him incomplete all those years back and Baxter, feeling he really has brought Justice to the victims. The film cleverly ends in sort of a cliffhanger.

Badla
(2019)

Solid Remake
I think this is a fantastic remake. I was genuinely surprised as to how much this Bollywood film kept itself tightly wound to the script, albeit it being a remake. The Gender reversals from the original film is a delightful novelty and since it made room for the inclusion of Amitabh Bachchan, it becomes all the more alluring. Some of the dialogues I think were not up to the point and I think the best of the dialogue "Vo murkh hota hai...jo sach ko hi janta hai.....Par sach aur jhuth ke fark ko nahi janta" was never highlighted for the promotion of the film, which I think is sad.

But overall a fantastic entertainer form Bollywood.

Fatman
(2020)

Nice movie
Mel Gibson as the Santa Claus is wonderful Idea. So was the idea of having a real life workshop full of elves. The action could have been a little better. Still loved the movie.

Inheritance
(2020)

Lilly Collins is miscast
If Lilly Collins was supposed to be this Big Shot DA and influencer cum Big Sister then they got it wrong. Her character that plays on in the film totally contradicts her opening shot. That is most of the reason why this movie becomes a DUD. She does not at all convinces as what she plays. Simon Pegg is wonderful and totally bonkers with his character.

The casting ruined what could have been a decent thriller.

The Rental
(2020)

Very Good Movie.
This is a very good movie. It could have been better I think with a little increase in budget. Having said that the movie does not disappoint. There are fair twists throughout to make it engaging and interesting.

Do not read the reviews first. It seems people are not happy with anything these days.

This is a good movie.

The Silencing
(2020)

A stereotypical Netflix movie, Great concept Bad execution
The plot built on nicely till about the middle and then it didn't, it just became senseless and then cliched. Nikolaj is the only redeeming feature of this thing. Surprisingly it is not a boring watch but rather a disappointing one.

The Witches
(2020)

I am one of the Minority
Ok. I haven't seen the 90's Original. I haven't read the book. I like this movie though, and I can understand the comments from the fans of the original. It is pain when someone turns your childhood memories and twists them a bit and then polishes and gives them back, only they are transformed now and you don't connect to them. This will always be the problem of remakes.

But let me just be clear, Mulan was remade, I hadn't watched that original either, still I found the remake disgusting, it was a terrible movie. That is not the case with The Witches, I found it sweet, funny and thoroughly entertaining.

Enola Holmes
(2020)

Disgrace to the "Holmes" Name
I understand the temptation of the Creators to portray a Female Detective in the 1900's to , actually I don't know why, Feminism maybe. But it needs to be done smartly. Showing all male characters as Dandies, doesn't earn much credibility. Enola Holes is a true fictional character, and I am sure the books are way better than what has been portrayed here. Too much feminism, ideologies, too ;little substance, ruining the stories. This is really a bad film when it could have been so much better. I mean , the Stupendous Sherlock Holmes is reduced to a eye Candy. The Mystery is non existent, the story is boring . The acting by all the cast is good.

The person who made this hasn't read Sherlock Holmes.

I am calling this. Netflix original movies are Cheap and are made only with interesting concepts with Zero investment in substance.

The Alienist
(2018)

They Have desecrated the source material Review of the Second Season)
I had to write this negative review cause I was looking forward for the second season. In the First season the creators made some changes but overall the series was much similar to the book. The however have completely destroyed the second book. The series is nowhere close to the events of the second book with similarities limited only to the names and profession of the characters. I have come to hate this series as they have taken away the beauty, the essence on the second book and filled it with some perverse melodramatic lunacy that is completely utterly beyond belief.

Disappointed and sore by this disgrace.

Mulan
(2020)

I cannot imagine Disney ruining something as bad as this movie
I am writing this review after watching the movie and an episode of Screen Rant's Pitch Meeting for the movie😂 .

Pitch meeting is right. Disney has actually managed to remove all the fun out of the original to probably make a social commentary I guess regarding women empowerment (Like in Aladin Live action, which is as bad) but end up falling well short of its intentions and being a complete joke.

I was trying desperately to write something good about the movie , but No. This is a bad movie.

Tesla
(2020)

I think it is a glimpse of How it felt being Tesla
This is not a straight forward biography. It is more like a "Theatre Play" being acted on the Big Screen. That is why I loved it. Of course it isn't perfect and some of the scenes could have been avoided. But overall this is a very satisfying film to watch. I think the film with its staggered and confusing narrative is an Ideal depiction of what was going on in Tesla's Mind.

Relic
(2020)

Brilliant Execution
This is potent film making. The horror is acutely felt. The truth about old age and the state of Mind (due to dementia) of the person suffering it is portrayed in such a way that it is disturbing. No, doubt watching this one would relate to his/her own parents, which makes it all the more dreadful.

I think this is Oscar material.

Loving Vincent
(2017)

Sheer Brilliance
The concept of using Vincent Van Gogh's works to tell his own story is a masterstroke. The way this movie salutes the legend through his paintings is genius. A must watch to everyone who is interested in Art. Surprised why it did not won the Academy Award that year(A Film like COCO is nothing compared to this master piece). Even the Oscars are nowadays sold to popularity than genuine art.

To rate it below 10 is quite frankly Insulting.

Torden
(2020)

Fantastic
I am not surprised to see all these negative reviews. The World is really deteriorating if garbage like "Money Heist" gets 8 stars and movies like Mortal get below 6. The Audience by far is getting tasteless and is being impressed by Over Dramatic, cheap and instant gratifying special effect filled SH** creations.

This movie is not perfect. But it is such a beautiful attempt to tell a wonderful tale. The cinematography is top notch. The locations are breath taking. The story, although slow and imperfect is satisfying.

Yes it isn't a 9 Star movie but definitely a 7.5 star

La casa de papel
(2017)

Dumb and Stupid
It started with a interesting premise. Printing one's own money, rather than stealing from people. The practical ramifications of printing that much money as shown(2 billion I think, I don't care) must be equally complex. But no one talks about that. Which would have made it a much more interesting show. Instead, we are introduced to some Morons who actually would be better off as Circus partners rather than robbers. Add to that , probably the Stupidest Chief Inspector in the Whole World with an equally stupid police force at her disposal and you get a La Casa De Papel.

People, We are in Grave danger, that being popularity is taken as a substitute for quality and creativity. This is happening at a unfathomable rate is all creative walks of life. The Avengers movies are a classic example for the case.

Carnival Row
(2019)

The second bolckbuster from Amazon this year (First, The Boys)
This one starts with a bizarre fairly tale story and one begins to imagine whether we have seen the likes before. But it builds into something special and that some thing special is truly remarkable.

A definite must see.

Ralph Breaks the Internet
(2018)

What was the point?
So this film says you can pretty much ditch your best friends (friends who have been through every difficulty to help you for your own happiness) just because your dream says so.

This film was more about being politically correct and safe than being fun. The point is pretty much emphasized when all men are portrayed as insecure and women are portrayed as always sure and confident of themselves.

Seriously, movies and TV shows now a days are just becoming another mediums to promote political and reformative(according to who?) agenda.
