A Confession
(2019)

Most reviewers are right, unwatchable due to camera abuse
Never seen so many reviews, complaints due to camera misuse (or abuse) so that was main motive to give it a try. What were they thinking ? Who came up with such idiotic idea? I will never find out if this weirdo is any good because for me few minutes were enough. They should fire the idiot who came up with the idea of amateur look, even amateurs throw such footage away.

Secret in Their Eyes
(2015)

The secret of disgrace and stupidity, "Monalisa by numbers"
The only sensible reason to watch this pathetic disaster is for the students of cinema, cinematography and everything related, and analysts (professional and amateurs) as a study. It is not first neither last time Hollywood butchered great script and created mockery of art. "Abre los ojos" and "Vanilla sky", "Solaris" (though if you never seen the Tarkowsky's original it may appear as not so bad) now the Campanella masterpiece. I can see his name in the credits, wow, is his financial situation so bad ? Was Juan Jose really part of this remake ? If so than this is sad indeed. There is no tension, no suspense and sorry to say it made me realise even more how outstanding was Soledad Villamil and Ricardo Darin. Shame that the non Spanish speaking world may never enjoy their outstanding films. Darin is probably one of the greatest actors of our times. What they created in the original film was amazing. "El secreto de sus ojos" was a revelation to me, watched it several times and after that all the films of Juan Jose Campanella and of Ricardo Darin, that film opened to me the fascinating world of Argentinian cinema. This thing, reminds me of old recipe from the pop music world "simplify then exaggerate". Another Hollywood fail

Deutschland 83
(2015)

Pathetic failure
Absolutely pathetic production. RTL is truly (in)famous in Germany, their productions are legendary - cheap, unprofessional and stupid, impossible to digest by anyone with IQ above 50. However this is not even bottom but knocking from under the bottom. Badly prepared script, without any attention to history and the reality of GDR and East Germany in 80s. It is German attempt at "The Americans" but fails in all the aspects. There is bunch of good German actors, but they get no chance under poor direction (which actually misses any direction) and idiotic, careless script. It is so bad that initially i thought it is a parody, unfortunately it is just lost cause

True Detective
(2014)

S01 - masterpiece, S02 sh....piece
Trying to watch E2, it's pain indeed. The first episode ...hmmm, hoped it's just intro, let's see.... This episode (02) is absolutely hopeless. As someone wrote before, already the intro music is a torture. Good cast, in theory only, actors are lost, none of those rather experienced professional has a clue where to take the character. The direction is a disaster, hard to figure out if the script is any good, perhaps it is/was and the director screwed it up. I am writing this to warn potential victims and because I am bored, the episode runs as I write but once I got that minimum of review words will switch it off, as I guess it will only get worse.

Disgrace
Russia, once film art superpower the land of Viertov, Eisenstein, Tarkowskij where is your film art gone? Since years hardly anything watchable, only few interesting movies but this trash is embarrassing. Script enough for 10 max 20 minutes short film, poorly filmed, zero historical value, no concept other than paranoid, hyper racist anti Asian propaganda. The portrayal of the Mongols reminds of Goebbels anti Jews propaganda. The paradox is that recently seen a Mongolian film and compared to this KGB/orthodox church sponsored rubbish it was well done, interesting, artistically valuable. This miserable production reminds of those Italian mythological movies from 60s except it lack their charm. Hope Russia will find its way back to genuine cinematic art that it was once such a beacon.
