Aaahh!!! Real Monsters
(1994)

yes it was gross but i loved it!
i was prompted to write this after reading a review from another user saying how this show was not suited for children. well when it was on, i was of the proper age (7/8) and i loved it. it was one of my favorite shows, because although the humor was childish it was one of those things that didn't treat kids like 'kids' one of the things the high and mighty 7 year old deplores. it was a step above the babies on rugrats, and i wouldn't write it off as disgusting, its a cartoon. its not like we were sat down to watch pulp fiction every afternoon. i believe everyone is entitled to opinion, but i wanted to defend one of my favorite shows, as a child who should be 'shielded' from it.

I Heart Huckabees
(2004)

BEST MOVIE OF THIS YEAR!!!!!
When first I saw the trailer for this I became madly excited and

poked everyone around me in the theater (some of them were

annoyed, but many just poked back). However when I heard some

of the preliminary reviews and comments my heart sunk, how

could something so promising be foul? Well then I soon realized it was a 'get it' thing. When I finally saw it I

loved it so much I went back the next day! I had always been a big

fan of David O. Russel, but after this he was firmly cemented as

one of my favorite directors. The comedy, not only hilarious was insightful and deeply moving

with wonderful individual and full company performances. I don't

know how he does it, but the film kept me captured from beginning

to end. It wasn't until today when I saw some violent displays of hate for it

that I decided to write a comment. It was at first inconceivable to

me how anyone could not like this clearly genius stroke of film

making. But then I suppose its a mental thing. You either connect

or you don't. I suggest everyone go to see it, there's a chance you may not get it,

but if you do, it's one of the greatest films you'll ever see!

(Please don't think it's too intellectually complex, I am after all 14.)

The Village
(2004)

First off that girl was NOT blind....
Two of my closest friends and I were ushered into The Village after being denied access to the gentle teen stoner comedy that we originally wanted to view. So I imagine we went into the whole affair not altogether thrilled. However, being somewhat of an insane movie buff, I was somewhat interested in the film, considering the prior works of the director. I was not amused. And it wasn't just me either. My friends and I (as well as the whole audience) found ourselves laughing out loud instead of cowering in fear. Our first qualm was that, although the female lead 'Ivy' was cursed with blindness, she still ran, broke up fights and looked people dead in the eye when talking to them. It was not without its moments however, the bad color (red) among barren forest gave some scenes a somewhat shocking beauty...but these moments were short lived as another 'twist' sent us back off into peals of laughter. A movie that began with some potential, spiraled so out of control it was almost a farce to itself. I in fact have half a mind to find the director and hit him a few times with a stick.....teach them for sending me to the quiet room...

From Dusk Till Dawn
(1996)

It's Random but I Love IT!!!!!!!
Many of my friends critisize this movie saying that it follows no plot line, and some of the effects aren't exactly on the top of their game. However I find Tarantino's snappy dialogue much more amusing then half the things in theaters with their super snappy FX and boring one-liners.

Both of the halves of this movie are almost completly unrelated to one another, but a movie that partners Rodriguez and Tarantino........I'm not complaining! Although this movie may not be academy awards material, it's one of my favorites purely for the fact that its awesome.

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King
(2003)

Brilliant end to a long and well-worth it series.
Not many movie trilogies fare well in the movie world today. But Lord of the Rings gives exactly what it promises and makes it all well-worth it even though we are saddened the journey has ended.

Peter Jackson again guides the movie and audiences through many complex emotions you do not find in your average action/adventure movie. For one of the most moving features this year, if you only see one movie this year, this should be it.
