Heartbeat: Nice Girls Don't
(1994)
Episode 6, Season 4

Relevant then, and relevant now
This episode perfectly encapsulates the issues that so many women faced and still face when dealing with the criminal justice system. The fear of reporting attacks due to stigmatation and persecution from both sides of justice, even those sworn to protect.

As always, our Ashfordly lads do their best to follow up the clues and make sure justice is done properly.

Heartbeat is great because it doesn't sugarcoat the real issues that happen in the criminal justice system, but also makes sure to recognise the hard work of those who do the right thing.

Incredible series, but nothing beats S1!
Never really considered myself a fan of Ricky Gervais, but saw the trailer for this and thought I'd give it a go, do not regret one bit!

What can I say? Almost everything about the show has been phenomenal, the writing, dark humour and very very important social issues that have been touched on but in a subtle and well written way! It's fantastic.

The only thing I thought could've been better was the role of the Psychiatrist and Brian (in series 2) - their characters were played quite subtly and well humored in the first season, but I reckon they were overplayed and 'over the top' in season 2, all that was needed was for them to be toned down a little like in the 1st season.

Aside from the Psychiatrist and Brian's lines in series 2, definitely would've been flawless!

Gavin & Stacey: A Special Christmas

Nostalgic throwback
Of course it was going to be different, it's been 10 years! There were many aspects I needed to adjust to at first such as seeing each wrinkle and freckle on their faces with the upgraded camera technology haha! But the warm feeling you got seeing your old favourite quirky families reunite together once more, that has stayed the same.

I wouldn't change it for the world, the ending may have been frustrating for a lot of people, but it's not an American drama or comedy (where things end tied up nicely with all the answers revealed) - it maintains its British uniqueness, leaving its viewers to beg for more yet still be completely filled with many laughs and brilliant story moments that will stay with in your mind for another 10 years.

Great Aussie Series
I've now rewatched the series THREE times, and I can't get enough of it. For an Australian series, it is brilliantly written, well-acted and the storyline is really original. I love the chemistry between Claudia and Matt's characters, and I think they were probably the best picks for their roles. It is incredibly QUIRKY! And I love the series for that, it's not like most series, it's original with its perks and quirks, funny characters and almost-cringe-worthy awkwardness at times, which goes to show how well-acted the cast played their roles. Of course I wished there was a season 3, but like I said, the show has been well written, and they left the series to finish in a 'satisfying' manner but still open for another season. I wish it could have got more popularity in Australia, it's a very good series and I recommend it to anybody who likes a well-written storyline with quirky characters and quirky plots, and of course fans who SHIP people, because the Henry/Suzy ship is definitely a likable CANON #FanTalk
