Firstly, I genuinely appreciate the honest reviews shared here.
The Royals, the series had everything going for it: a good cast, an intriguing story and a solid plot. However, it all started falling apart, episode by episode, due to the makers' misguided choices.
The original premise aimed to explore how the rich and famous struggle with personal demons, secrets and the pressures of their status. But instead of portraying this with nuance, the creators chose to reduce the characters to offensive stereotypes, depicting them as morally bankrupt in the most distasteful ways. It almost feels as though the creators had a personal grudge against royalty, given the absurd and disrespectful portrayal dressed up in a glossy production.
As for Bhumi Pednekar, her performance was overshadowed by what appeared to be more enthusiasm for the intimate scenes than genuine acting. Ishaan Khatter, in contrast, seemed to maintain professionalism throughout.
All in all, this series turned out to be completely unwatchable. I sincerely hope they do not continue down the same path in any future installments.

After watching the movie, I had to look up the name of the mastermind behind this disaster. Turns out, it was Gareth Evans. I had no clue who he was at first, but after checking his background, I realized he's known for action films. Unfortunately, this seems like another over-the-top attempt at the genre and the result is nothing short of a mess.
You've got Tom Hardy, a decent (though typical) script, the usual good cops, bad cops, and a morally grey hero who ends up saving the day. But the director's so-called "signature style" completely ruins it.
First of all, I don't understand his obsession with darkness. Why do all his movies especially the action scenes have to be so dimly lit?
Second, why is there such excessive shooting? Every character that dies seems to have taken at least a hundred bullets.
Third, the fight scenes are nearly unwatchable because of the constant shaky camera work. It's disorienting and makes the action feel chaotic and meaningless.
Like me, you might enjoy the start of the movie but by the end, you're likely to be disappointed. Watch at your own risk.

If I could have sued for this completely nonsensical, scene-by-scene copied movie, I would have.
I would also accuse the makers of intellectual property theft, not because they adapted ideas, but because they shamelessly copied every single scene from Hollywood very badly and horribly executed.
I can't tell if the Nawab is really this clueless, or if he is.
The filmmakers started off trying to mimic the style of the movie Race, showcasing an over-the-top, larger-than-life, ultra-lavish world. It seems they blew their entire budget early on, because by the final scene, they had to build an airplane out of cardboard and paper and cast a "pilot" who handled the steering worse than a kid playing on a PlayStation.
This movie is absolutely terrible, horrible beyond words and a complete waste of time.
Saif Ali Khan, please stop making movies. You're not just embarrassing yourself; you're seriously wasting everyone's time. You have lost your touch and skills big time.
