Greenland
(2020)

Doesn't America or Canada have shelters?
There are a couple of strange decisions in this movie, but... the one that basically keeps lingering... Why on earth does one flee from upstate New York to try to reach a shelter in Greenland? It is closer to Europe where the big one would hit. Now, I am a European, and in Hollywood Europe is often to go first. I would have understood that you'd fly to Greenland if the big one was going to hit in the USA, but okay.

All other goofs and mistakes have been commented on, but I missed this one in them.

All in all a decent movie, good pace, keeping you on your toes, but I often thought "Oh, common. Get real."

I would have felt ripped off after seeing this in the theaters, but seeing this on Netflix in the afternoon free time... the only thing I really lost was "time." No biggy 😊

Year Six
(2014)

Why did I even watch this?
Totally depressing. The main character is looking for his girlfriend in a post apocaliptic world. He gets mugged. Kills the muggers. Gets help of a fat low self esteem guy who at the end seems to have been selling the guys girlfriend for trades. Fat guy gets killed. The end. What a waste of time that was. I kept hoping that it would get better, but nope. Don't watch it!

Zoey to the Max
(2015)

A sugar sweet family movie
Zoe is a naive thirteen year old from Los Angeles. Zoe had a rough time in her young life, moving from foster home to foster home. Nobody seemed happy to keep her. In school she is the odd girl who gets pestered. As such, she easily gets in to trouble, but she has a good heart.

Her life changes when she escapes from an unwanted situation, and ends up in Palm Springs where the local sheriff and his wife take her in when her present foster family returns her to the system.

Determined to not screw this up, she's on her best behavior. Will she be able to stay with this family and friends?

This movie is sugar sweet and the acting isn't that great, but none-the-less, it's a nice family-movie. I enjoyed the movie (yes even as an 40+ adult). Families can watch this without having to worry about bad language, extreme violence, nudity or other unwanted influences.

The3Tails Movie: A Mermaid Adventure
(2015)

An uninspiring plea to stop using plastic
When you have seen the Mako/H2O series, you will find this movie very weak indeed. The plot has two themes. First there is the pollution of the Ocean. We get to learn a bit about it, but then the movie takes another direction. The three mermaids get kidnapped and the kidnappers draw some Mermaid-sample which is delivered to a man who has a daughter who can not walk. He wants her to become a mermaid. One of the girls escapes and warns the police. When the police comes, the girl who kidnapped them was arrested, but the scientist who gave the order is not, as the mermaids feel sorry for the paralyzed girl who needs her father. The movie ends with a plea to stop using plastic.

The acting is bad. Everything feels like it was made up by kids who wanted to surprise their parents and read the whole thing aloud from paper. The theme about plastic never gets through to me. It feels like an annoying side product, which is a shame, as I believe that the message is important.
