This is the last one of the brilliant Komisario Palmu series (recently released on DVD, except the first movie Komisario Palmun Erehdys). Many years had passed since the creation of the previous Palmu movie and this last one was filmed in color. Some other things had changed too: Palmu had retired from the office, found himself a wife and moved to the countryside. He gets involved in the story when the employer of the murdered reporter asks him to investigate the case for them.

Unlike the previous films Vodkaa, Komisario Palmu isn't based on a novel by Mika Waltari, instead it is written by the director Matti Kassila himself. The common opinion of the public (and the director as well) seems to be that this is easily the worst Komisario Palmu movie, but I disagree about that. It's just different, it's not bad. Theme of the movie is much more political and open that in the other films, but it keeps the viewer interested very well.

The last Komisario Palmu continues the tradition of great acting. Palmu (Joel Rinne), Kokki (Leo Jokela) and Virta (Matti Ranin) are as great as in the previous ones, and especially Leo Jokela does again an awesome job as Kokki. Also note the breathtakingly beautiful Inga Sulin as Tamara.

In my opinion this is a good ending to the best Finnish film series ever. I think I'll have to buy those DVD:s... 8/10

When I was about four or five years old I used to watch this film almost every day in my day care. Then a couple of weeks ago I was discussing with my friend about animation movies and it came up that he had this important piece of my childhood on VHS. So of course I borrowed it and watched it for the first time in about 13 years. I remembered surprisingly many scenes.

Watching this movie wasn't as big event as it was years ago, but I still find it quite enjoyable. There were some funny mistakes in the translation from English to Finnish, but nothing crucial. I think I'll watch this a couple of times again for the old times sake before I give the tape back to my friend. :) 8/10

I just came home from the premiere a couple of hours ago. The theater is not very big (about 300 seats I think), and it was not even near to full. Maybe the not-so-great Reloaded scared some people away.

The movie was just as good as I expected which means that it's not even close to the brilliance of the first Matrix, but it still is a very good movie and fun to watch. There were not very many peaceful moments, just fighting and fighting and fighting in few different ways.

If you have seen the previous movies, go watch this one too. It's good to see how the story ends.

First of all, Rocky-series is (as well as 007) my favourite movie series of all time. I like every single movie of them even though the other films from II to V have been somewhat smashed by the critics and audience, except the die hard Rocky-fans.

The main thing which makes this movie so great is the atmosphere it has. The ragged neighbourhood of Philadelphia alongside with the most brilliant soundtrack there is (every single song is just fabulous, I can't say anymore) creates such a great mood through the whole movie. But only the atmosphere doesn't turn a movie into a great movie. You need a script. The script of Rocky isn't revolutionary, but it sure is good enough, and the unusual romance between Rocky and Adrian adds a great flavor to the movie. All the actors/actresses are also doing a great job. A great, great movie. I think I should watch it again...
