Utmark
(2021)

Norwegian gem
Really absurd and surprisingly humane, totally twisted and wonderfully indifferent, Utmark is one of the best series I've watched this year.

BoJack Horseman: Time's Arrow
(2017)
Episode 11, Season 4

BoJack Horseman is certified masterpiece!
This episode uplifts one, at the moment, fantastic series to the true masterpiece. You should be genius to write this. In the spirit of times, greatest modern TV product is cartoon which is really hard to categorize, because BoJack is category for itself. It's incredible how layered the story is and on how many levels it works! Now I'm so glad that I have two more seasons to enjoy!

Modern masterpiece!
This is , no doubt, modern masterpiece. Talent, imagination, wisdom, combined with actual theme make this one of the best movies in the 21-st century. Go and see it!

Trust
(2018)

Amazed by IMDb reviewers
I have to say that I'm so amused by the not negligible number of reviewers here on IMDb, who dare to give 10/10 to some series based on the first episode (or couple of them). And compares it with this and that. It just shows superficiality and sallowness of today's world and IMDb as well. IMDb should save minimum dignity and disqualify such reviewers because their opinion is basically based on nothing. Regards!

True Grit
(2010)

average movie - not Coens like at all
Clearly I'm not a big fan of this movie as almost everybody else is and here is why: First of all if I did not know that it is a Coens brothers movie I would hardly guess. Apart from some directing staples and their standard editing, story is rather disappointingly straight forward and I may say even unrealistic and boring. I was not able to connect with the plot or feel the revenge motive at all. In that sense film is even kind of artificial if you want. Going further on contrary of common opinion I do not believe that 14 years old girl in the 19th century Wild West, would be capable to act so mature and even if she did I do not believe that it will finished for her like shown in movie (the top invention is when she discuss legal issues with crocked merchant - most of the kids of that age will start to cry or show some emotional response but not in this case, she is just going on with legal arguments towards her aim - impressive but unrealistic) . In my opinion the daughter character is one of least realistic that I have seen in serious movies recently and looks more like up to date exercise of what are children today than how it looks like back than.

The point is that I did not feel any emotions from the screen while watching the movie, I could not connect either with story or the characters so I do not see anything particularly good about this movie. Here I would take out cinematography and era reconstruction but this is not what can make plot or movie more interesting.

To me it seems that now Coen Brothers are getting recognition they have well deserved for their early classics like incredible Fargo or Big Lebovski not to go further. Anyhow if you prefer Wild West realism try with Deadwood which is far better, or with Unforgiven if you want to see catharsis and real juicy movie, if you want to watch average western directed by Coens which will probably win some Oscars, go for this one.

Finally as a big Coens Brothers fan I'm even a bit disappointed with True Grit and hoping that next time they will go back to their own screenplay and make some more provocative movie as they did so many times. For this 5*
