The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: Alloyed
(2022)
Episode 8, Season 1

FABULOUS
There was a reason for the slow build. Each character well delineated, highly moving and tense relationships and plot devices. Terrific dialogue and denouement.

This episode was not only highly riveting, as were the three before it, but also highly moving. We do care for these characters, and the acting was more than good.

Galadriel is fantastic, Elrond magnificent. Hobbit precursors are spot on. Gandalf a winner. All fabulous.

There's not much to find fault with honestly. Having loved THE SILMARILLION years ago, this series perfectly captures the essence of the prehistory Tolkien wanted and more.

The Good Fight: The End of Eli Gold
(2022)
Episode 4, Season 6

Profound and Riveting Episode
So well written , directed and acted. A profound important and scary existed everyone needs to see. Superb program that is going for the jugular this year. The intensity never let up, and the end goal of keeping up "the good right" to save our country was brought to the fore. This program hits a nerve every time but tonight.... Just wow. Alan Cumming and Sarah Steale were magnificent. And the storyline involving why the new partner is there was spot on. Rhianuear rhe show is meant as a am warning, and no punches are being pulled. We need more of this, and docent there are many more episodes I think we will get it. Bravo to all involved.

Technically good, storyline meh
Well....

As a lover of the books (all of them) I can honestly say this is NOT LOTR.

Sure it's good technically, but the dialogue is horrendous, so far the story makes no sense, one wonders why any of the events in episode 2 are happening, I don't care about any of the characters yet, and it appears to be searching for a purpose. And why would the elves, who prefer peace, want to build that forge at all?

The graphics were certainly more than good, but to keep viewers the story has better start going somewhere. So far no go. Only time will tell.

But I have to say I think Tolkien would not be happy.

Laughing our way through this one
Just we need now. Yes we're huge musical fans, and this show hits all the right notes. Every song starts sounding like a real song from a well known 50s musical and then goes into a riff that will have you smiling, laughing and grinning ear to ear. Gotta love it. Well done by all. Can't wait for the last two episodes. Fills the void while we await Broadways return.

World on Fire: Episode #1.5

Episode 5, Season 1

Amazing
This keeps getting more moving and dark, as it should. In these times tough to watch, but important. One of the best filmed programs we've seen on television in a long while. Kudos all round.

Star Trek: Picard
(2020)

BRAVO
Yes it is different, but highly entertaining and quite moving. A brilliant new concept for Star Trek that moves along beautifully, with i high excitement combined with emotion. Ran through all episodes in 2 long nights. Movie quality, super reunion of beloved characters, good old Star Trek meaningful behind the story. Well done all. And thanks.

Little Women
(2019)

BEST FILM OF THE YEAR
After the film ended alm I could think was .... what just happened! This was one of the most beautifully filmed, well acted and directed, seamless, emotional films of the year or of many years. A fresh and deeply sincere take on a timeless and timely classic. E were stunned, moved, and deeply touched. Magnificent all around. Kudos to all for this new classic. .

Modern Love
(2019)

Brilliantly Done
Entranced from the first episode. We just finished it all and will only say it makes perfect sense when it all comes together in the end. As people who have lived in NYC for 45 years now, we can say it's a true pleasure to see our city and it's people portrayed this way. Great job by all.

Old Fashioned Space Opera and Darn Good
Once you get past episode 4 this thing picks up and just gets better and better. Well done and can't wait for next season. We couldn't stop watching. This is an old fashioned space opera that has it all. And it a a lot of fun as well as exciting. Watch it!

It's Real Folks!
I am going to keep this brief....

Bruce Dern is remarkable (always was), he has reached a peak here.

The rest of the cast is amazingly fine as well.

The photography was spot on, black and white revealing the bleakness of it all with moments of beauty.

You know it's good when you reach over to your partner and say "who does that remind you of?" as you watch the characters. They were real, we lived with many like that in our life.

See it, it's a work of art that will captivate you, make you laugh and cry, and make you think. True movie making.
