Monarch: Legacy of Monsters
(2023)

How this has 7.2 I don't know...
Monarch: Legacy of Monsters disappoints on multiple fronts. Despite its title, the series falls short on delivering the promised monster mayhem. The scarcity of creatures robs the show of its potential excitement. To make matters worse, the narrative gets tangled in a confusing web of multiple timelines, leaving viewers disoriented rather than thrilled.

The writing, far from gripping, adopts a childish and dull tone that does little justice to the intriguing premise. Instead of exploring the depths of monstrous encounters, the series seems preoccupied with navigating convoluted temporal leaps. It's a frustrating experience for those who anticipated a monster-filled adventure.

The initial promise of a captivating monster series is overshadowed by the series' inability to capitalize on its own potential. Monarch: Legacy of Monsters ends up as a lackluster production that fails to engage, with each episode leaving viewers longing for the excitement they were initially led to believe would unfold.

Suspicion
(2022)

Just Stop Oil asked ChatGPT to write the script.
The series began promisingly but veered into confusion, plagued by plot holes and overt climate propaganda. It prioritized its message over storytelling finesse, leaving characters undeveloped and the plot unsatisfying. In contrast, 'Dopesick' offers a genuine exploration of corruption and real-world issues, grounded in actual events and stark realities. It delivers a thought-provoking and impactful viewing experience, making it a far more compelling choice for those seeking meaningful narratives. Ultimately, it underscores the importance of balanced storytelling in conveying essential messages through Television.

Evil
(2019)

Please send the kids to boarding school
The show is pretty good, except the way they've written the kids is mind-numbingly overbearing and quite unrealistic. Almost every scene with them is a babbling noise of choreographed arguing. It's just too much!

Star Trek: Picard
(2020)

It's a shame to see old friends deal with such a terrible script
It's dull and has such a flaky written story line. I didn't like the first season and this second season is equally as poor. Better producers and a fresh writing team, one that appreciates the series that it was originally based upon, it's what Star Trek needs right now. Not this mess with political agendas peppered through it. Patrick Stewart seems so tired, let the man retire with dignity.

Outer Range
(2022)

Its sure weird, it's a divisive show but I like it.
It has so odd elements, it's super weird. Bit of Lost, the familiar tone of Yellowstone I feel like maybe Mulder might show up. Its a science fiction wrapped in drama and I like the tone. Its not for everyone. But I'm in.

Grumpy Cat's Worst Christmas Ever
(2014)

Much funnier than it should be!
It's clearly a stupid laugh that shouldn't be taken seriously, but it made my kids and I laugh actually-out-loud more times than expected. Audrey Plaza is the highlight of this film she's having total fun with the script and it shows. Watch with your kids and laugh! πŸ˜†πŸŽ„πŸ€Ά

Dexter: New Blood

The podcaster must die
The podcaster must die The podcaster must die The podcaster must die The podcaster must die The podcaster must die The podcaster must die The podcaster must die.

The Christmas Chronicles: Part Two
(2020)

lovely to see Goldie and Russel once more.
It's not a great film by any means, the first one is far superior but it was a joy to see actors from my youth back in a film together. More Goldie and Russel please! My kids loved it and that's the important thing. Merry Christmas allπŸŽ„

Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin
(2021)

4k Blair witch meets Midsommer sort of..
A bunch of stupid people so stupid things and some of them die horribly. Nothing much original here. This sentence is to allow me to post this informative review.

Invasion
(2021)

Get the hell on with it...
8 Episodes in and it's all exposition, I'm afraid it just isn't good enough. The script isn't strong enough, the story is super dull. The acting is just about acceptable but like everyone else said it's just boring.

Halloween Kills
(2021)

It's so bad its good!
Hilarious and stupid I don't have the words to fully explain how bad it is but it will make you laugh.

Evil dies tonight.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

Superman Returns
(2006)

A worthy sequel, somewhat underrated
If you haven't watched I'd give it a go, it has some great nostalgic moments, the original films are some of my favourite childhood films.

Re-watching this film all these years later and it isn't a bad film at all. I thoroughly enjoyed it, The story isn't perfect, but it's still a good film.

The Ice Road
(2021)

Terribly written, very low budget.
I'm only about 15 minutes in...well, not even big names can save it. Quite amateur, but I guess a jobs a job.

Friends: The Reunion
(2021)

Painful and awkward
Everything felt forced, couldn't get passed the first hour.

The Handmaid's Tale: Home
(2021)
Episode 7, Season 4

Outstanding episode
I was a mess watching this one, powerful stuff. The battle has only just begun!

Those Who Wish Me Dead
(2021)

Dull and unremarkable
That is all I can say about this film, weak story.

Happily
(2021)

Silly good fun doesn't matter if it doesn't fully make sense.
I really enjoyed it, well directed just a good laugh. Don't think about it too hard. The acting was good, quirky wee film!

The Healer
(2016)

Eating broken glass was more favourable
I sat down with my wife, a pint of beer and an eager sense of anticipation. 20 mins in and I smashed the pint over my head and proceeded to eat the glass....

Star Trek: Picard: Broken Pieces
(2020)
Episode 8, Season 1

I sat of Facebook watching this
It's really dull, you could sumup the entire story on one episode but they must create filler. Some very poor writing in parts. I'm saddened by it all so far, I really wanted to like it like I did when I was boy. I even wanted to watch it with my boy buts too violent and dark.

I'll watch it to the end. But I'm pretty upset.

Lost in Space
(2018)

Why do I keep watching this show....
The actors, for the most part are capable but wow, the writing is dull, the story is boring doesn't really go anywhere I was expecting something a little grittier. The biggest redeeming quality is the effects but yeah, I get it, okay it's a family show but it's mostly drama and I think I'm done with this type of television.

Guilt
(2019)

When things go from bad to worse, then worse...
Great dark humour, starts off quite amusing gets darker. Great show, sinister and well acted.

Impulse
(2018)

Scifi, but not scifi. Drama and more drama.
For the most part the acting is okay, the writing is stupid for the most of it. I was really hoping for more storyline but it just ends up being all about the Drama of being a teen, it detracts away from the original idea. So many times I was saying to myself "Bloody well get on with it!"

If you're looking for something to waste some time on, watch it, it's pretty dull and doesn't really go anywhere.

The Lion King
(2019)

Boring, lacked cohesion
Everything seemed off. The music, the timing and the acting wasn't enjoyable. Another terrible rehash. Disney is single handedly ruining my childhood memories..

Watch the originals

Beauty and the Beast
(2017)

Awful awful, just awful.
Why this has so many 10 star reviews is just beyond me. Hollywood has simply run out of original content. The 90s cartoon was great. This is just a live action remake. Stop making disney cartoons real, that is the whole fun of watching animated classics.

The Handmaid's Tale: Liars
(2019)
Episode 11, Season 3

I was worried this series was starting to stagnant!
Easily the best episode this season.

Cloudbusting !
