The Inbetweeners 2
(2014)

Funny at times but also predictable and pointless
After watching the sequel to the first hilarious Inbetweeners movie there was an unsatisfying feel because of the films very blunt and bland ending, not only this but also the film, while it doesn't fail to bring a laugh once or twice it also made me often wonder when it would end after rolling my eyes at the relentless attempts to force laughs. There are a lot of obvious and cold jokes that are very scripted and don't flow, although i love The Inbetweeners sitcom and the first movie, this wasn't half as good as the first due to the whole motivation for the film probably being the success of the first. Although it's nice to see The Inbetweeners still going i think this should definitely be the last movie Damon Beesley works for.

The Watch
(2012)

Makes you laugh but.....
The Watch is pretty much Akiva Schaffers first film. It has an incredible line of up of actors and so i thought it looked good. Yes it does make you laugh, however the film is really messy, at one point you'll be laughing the next you'll be wanting to slap the person who wrote the next line or next scene. If you just let yourself enjoy it with out analysing each scene your sure to come out of the film thinking it was funny and enjoyable, however if you think about each scene and about the whole story then you realise it just wasn't a good film.

My Rating: 5.9/10

Se7en
(1995)

Se7en gives you a shiver down your spine it is a cold, dark masterpiece.
Se7en is about 2 detectives who are trying to catch a sadistic murderer who uses the seven deadly sins as his method of operation. Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman both have very powerful characters and perform brilliantly.

The thing i enjoy most about seven is the weird and creepy way the film is done and how dark and disturbing the film is, it really has an affect on you and an affect is what we go the cinema for. Se7en also has a magnificent twist ending just to top it all off.

VERDICT: Simply a spine chilling masterpiece.

9.3/10

The Big Lebowski
(1998)

The Characters are great, But the actual film isn't.
I was really looking forward to watching 'The Big Lebowski' because i am a big fan of the Coen brothers work. Fargo was brilliant and they have done some other very good movies to, but The Big Lebowski is overrated. People tell me the whole plot is kind of a joke, well if thats so it's the equivalent of a 'knock' knock' joke. Although perhaps the dude is a great character... the plot doesn't really go anywhere even though i though it had a lot of potential, it just came off weird. Although the character 'Jesus' a strange man they go bowling with gave me a few laughs along with some other mildly amusing parts, The Big Lebowski should certainly not be on IMDb's top 250 because i was personally unimpressed by it.

The Usual Suspects
(1995)

The best of the best
The Usual Suspects is not only incredibly well written, filmed and directed but is incredibly exciting, it builds up slowly to the ending that will go down in history for one of the greatest twist endings ever pulled off in such fine fashion. Then we get on to Kevin Spacey, now this acting is superb, it's real, funny, just so fine, No wonder Spacey won an Oscar for his role as 'Verbal' one of the five usual suspects, caught up in a crime ridden life.

This truly is the best of the best. The ending is done with such class that nobody can deny or fight. Left me shocked as the end credits rolled up the screen. An instant classic.

9.7/10

VERDICT: A masterpiece, Spacey is brilliant. Prepare to have a new favourite film.

Ill Manors
(2012)

A very accurate, well made film.
The film is an incredibly accurate portrait of that kind of environment. It wasn't two-dimensional in that the characters weren't just purely evil – the good in them also showed. I've met all those characters in the course of my work. The little boys terrorised into joining the criminal network are just so real. It demonstrated what I keep telling people: don't say a child chooses to join a gang; there is no choice. The cycle of brutalisation, with kids brutalising kids, the girl fights, all of it is so accurate.

I want to get a copy of this film and deliver it to the prime minister and say: "This is another bit of your country that you don't talk about, you don't see, but nevertheless, large numbers of children and young people are trapped in this life." I've already spoken to an MP. I want to organise a showing in parliament. I'm going to call Plan B's people and see if they'll make it happen. For the past 16 years I've been trying to describe what these kids' lives are like. It's very difficult for people to visualise the way they live.

Project X
(2012)

Yes over the top, but a lot of fun!
POSITIVE: Project X, is different. Its not like every party movie because its one of those films where someone is filming the main characters going around with there camera.

Project X however itself makes you really want to party, it makes you laugh out loud, and its just a fun film to watch, i know most people are saying it's s*it, but it isn't, its well filmed and a cool party film.

NEGATIVE: Sometimes scenes move around to quickly and the stupidity of the film - how over the top it is.

7.6/10

Dark Shadows
(2012)

A fun time, but......
This is an entertaining film. It did however have some problems, for example in some scenes you felt just lost in weirdness, Johnny Depp plays a quirky, weird vampire who is turned into this creature because of an evil curse on him, he does play a quite funny role and i think he is a very good actor as a whole but although you're sometimes laughing and enjoying yourself a lot, sometimes you feel a bit trapped by it in a way.

The idea of ghosts being real is a whole stupid part of this film and it wasn't brilliantly done, definitely not one of Burton's best films, but it's entertaining.

6/10

Horrible Bosses
(2011)

Really Funny.
This is just a really fun, entertaining short comedy. The last scene has got to be in my top 10 funniest scenes in movie history. Overall i'd say i really liked it, the only problem i'd say was that certain parts were quite rushed but it was probably a good idea to make sure nobody got bored. If you like Jason Bateman then you'll love it, i'd really recommend it.

VERDICT: A very fun time, a very entertaining film, a great comedy.

8/10

I thought it would be funny and i would end up giving it a 6 or 7, but this film surprised me. Don't think to much about the actual film just watch it with an open mind, let yourself be entertained and i'm sure you will be.
