Piku
(2015)

A feel good movie....this is Piku!!!!!!!!!!
When you have actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone and Irrfan Khan in a movie, it is bound to be a wonderful saga. And Piku doesn't disappoint. Kudos to Shoojit Sircar for a wonderful journey of motion relating to the emotion.

The film progresses with Deepika playing the character of Piku and her father Amitabh Bachchan playing as Bhaskor Banerjee who essays the portrayal of a constipation patient with ease. Piku is in middle of a hectic life with the tension of job, marriage and an ailing father surmounting her worries.

It is when Bhaskor demands a trip to Kolkata, his home town that they are accompanied by Irrfan(owner cum driver of the travel company). The journey to Kolkata from Delhi itself teaches you a lot on relationships, love and respect.

As they arrive in Kolkata, Bhaskor explores the world in his bicycle and has a happy end along with his motion.

The characters are well suited and apt to the role. Along with these three, characters including that of Mausima Chaterjee are funny and give you a smiling face every time.

All in all Piku is a FEEL GOOD movie where you start with a smile and end the same way. 2015 wasn't a good year for Hindi Movie Industry but Piku has given a platform for good movies to come. All hail Shoojit Sircar and the cast!!!!!!

Boss
(2013)

Akshay Kumar may be the BOSS in this, but the movie isn't..........
If I take a look at Akshay Kumar's career graph over the past 5 years, most of his movies were ridiculous. I mean, I am still unable to understand why he chooses movies like Rowdy Rathore, Boss, Khiladi 786 when he can do a gem like Special 26. Boss has few good elements in it including the songs and some emotional scenes. But what obviously fails to impress is the storyline and some scientific scenes( mark here "scientific"- one where a plant starts growing with the mere sweat of Akshay Kumar). Story is as normal as it can get and predictable. Ronit Roy is the only feel good factor in this movie(not sure why he did not join movies earlier). Supporting cast including Mithun ,newcomer Shiv and Aditi Rao Hydari fail to make an impact. Overall, Boss is only for die hard Akshay fans and if you are that desperate to watch it, wait for it's satellite release.

Queen
(2013)

Kangana proves she is the Queen of Hearts..............
To me Kangana was always a fine actress ever since her debut in Gangster Fact was she was not able to get the due credit for her previous movies. Queen changes it completely not only because Kangana was great, but also because the whole movie revolved around her in a way that you can never dislike anything of the movie.

Kangana plays a typical small town girl, who has this shock of her life when her fiancée dumps her few days before the wedding. This leaves her in grief, but her determination to enjoy her holiday alone and all the things that she comes across in her journey is what Queen tells about.

Queen is a perfect movie for the Women's day considering it shows the determination, the courage and the zeal that the woman carries with her even though she has been dumped by her fiancée. Kangana essays that role perfectly and so have the supporting cast including Lisa Haydon and Rajkumar Rao. Kudos to Anurag Kashyap for bringing such kind of movies to the fore.

All in all, Queen is entertaining and leaves you with a smile at the end.GO WATCH IT!!!!!

Blood Money
(2012)

Fresh...yet not upto the mark
With the Bhatt camp on your way, expectations become very high especially at the back of a Superhit movie like Murder 2 & with Blood Money,it was no exception.Although it had fairly newcomers playing the lead roles, still the promos looked much promising. The first half, yes, was good considering it had that element of ROMANCE,INTIMACY,MUSIC in it which certainly did grow on you, until the second half where things started getting monotonous and predictable. The "GOOD BOY" Kunal Khemu, fighting to expose the illegal side of the Diamond Enterprise was good, still the LOGIC was missing in some sequences. What i want to say is,yes,Hrithik Roshan has that body that can be stabbed 5 times, still he can overcome the giant Sanjay Dutt(AGNEEPATH),how come Kunal Khemu, after being stabbed would run like an Usain Bolt and would fight like a healthy person would!!!!!! Overall the movie was fresh sans some scenes that could have been executed better.Kunal Khemu and Amrita Puri both show maturity in acting and look promising for a positive stint in Bollywood.Music was EXCEPTIONAL(what the Bhatts are known for!!!) A one time watch would do good only if you have no other better plans this weekend.

Agent Vinod
(2012)

When Style dominates Substance.......................
Stylish actors, wonderful locations, lots of side characters, wayward storyline all these sum up the context of Agent Vinod.Mark,I used only two positive things, which are actually the fairly good things in the movie, whereas the reason you should avoid it,is at the behest of the negative points. The movie seems as if cut-by-cut summary of 14 different movies(because of 14 different locations) with none of them providing apt understanding of the storyline and you end up asking yourself-"What was that?","Who was that?","Why was that?". Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor did justice to their character still the storyline & some poor editing made a mess of the movie.Songs were good still not upto the mark. All in all Agent Vinod is a stylish, sleek movie beyond a good and sensible storyline. If you find STYLE dominating SUBSTANCE as good,go for it,else its far far better to avoid it.

Agneepath
(2012)

Agneepath ! Agneepath ! Agneepath!
Not sure of the 1990's Amitabh Bachchan's flick AGNEEPATH,this, the new recreated 2012 AGNEEPATH is a gem of a movie. From acting to dialogues to songs everything is flawless.Kudos to Karan Johar and specially the director Karan Malhotra to be brave enough to take up this project and produce a magnificent movie. Hrithik Roshan portrays the angry young man which somehow remembered me of Amitabh Bachchan in his early days. His attitude, style and the way he takes vengeance is awesomely displayed.Rishi Kapoor was fabulous both when he displayed his anger and his politeness.Sanjay Dutt!!!!......wow!!!..just wow!!!...No one could have played the role of Kancha Cheena better than him.His dialogues, the bald-headed look was scary sometimes which made it even better.Priyanka Chopra was used well and she did complete justice to her role. One of the most important aspects Agneepath devised perfectly was the execution of scenes,be it a fight scene,or an emotional scene,or a romantic scene everything was well planned and well executed. All-in-all AGNEEPATH is a mass entertainer. You watch it again and again and again and you wont ever feel bored......GREAT MOVIE.......TAKE A BOW Kjo.....

Players
(2012)

An average movie that could have been done better..................
For an Abbas-Mustan Burmawala Bros. movie, you expect thrills with twists & turns.Players has those, but not enough to surprise the audience to a great extent. With movies like Soldier,Ajnabee,Race there were shocking moments which had the so-called "woooooo"factor in it.Players fails in this aspect.More to say the music was highly uninteresting ,to be fair unnecessary. "The Italian Job" was a great movie with everything-story,direction,actors dealt with perfection. While Players did copy its story ,direction-wise it was all rite, but the major problem was its casting. You may be shooting in Russia,New Zealand or any other wonderful place, but when you have an inexperienced and weak cast, the movie shows its sign of bleakness. While Abhisek,Neil,Bipasha were good,Sonam,Sikander and Omi Vaidya(the all-time irritating guy) were wrongly casted.Bobby Deol,a tremendous actor by himself(likes of Barsaat,YPD,Soldier) was wasted.Comic timings of Johny lever seems to be deteriorating day-by-day.

All-in-all Players did try to repeat the feat what The Italian Job had,but failed due to some insensitive decisions(casting, music).

One time watch movie............hey,just a second........not in theatres, just wait for its satellite release

Don 2
(2011)

Another disaster comes your way
After RA.One,SRK brings another disaster for movie-lovers.He's out there in multiplexes waiting to con you off your money.I mean, common, just rambling some lines 'Don ke dushmano ko…' thousand times makes you feel like yawning for most part of the movie.Next comes the prison break sequence(total mockery of Malaysian jail security),the car chase(yawn),the music(yawn). OK the high point of the movie according to me is the special appearance of Hrithik Roshan but Mr Farhan Akhtar have some common sense-u could have hidden his six fingers!!!!!.Priyanka Chopra's same dialogues, same expressions(YAWN). Kunal Kapoor and Lara Dutta are good in their part.Boman Irani is completely wasted. And the man himself SRK barring the opening scene doesn't really give you any "out of seat" or "whistle blowing" sequences.

Don 2 ,for me, is the worst sequel made in Bollywood. If you all SRK die hard fans anyhow want to watch it,just wait for it's satellite release.

Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl
(2011)

First half impresses,..second half depresses
Again a Yash Raj movie, again a Maneesh Sharma film, again Anushka-Ranveer pairing that worked wonders in Band Baaja Baraat, but on the contrary Ladies vs Ricky Bahl never has that element of magic that BBB had.Of course u can blame Anushka coming to the fore in the second half, but the movie actually subsides in the second half itself not only because of some boring sequences but the predictability the movie creates as we rush through second half.First half is fun-filled specially because of the presence of Parineeti Chopra (Priyanka's cousin) and it never ever seems its her first movie.Ranveer as always is impressive not only in conning girls but flaunting his body with those 8 pack abs.Dipannita and Aditi have done commendable jobs.Anushka(especially in the black bikini)looks hot.Songs are OK.Overall the movie could have been better in the second half.Go for it only if you are an ardent fan of Ranveer.I go with 6/10

Ready
(2011)

If you are a big fan of Salman Khan,GO FOR IT!!!
Ready can easily be called or titled "SALMAN KHAN".The reason???because the whole movie makes rounds around just one star, SALMAN.The director Anees Bazmee doesn't really make an effort to make the scenes more humorous.Barring some scenes from the Khan himself and Sudesh Lehri, the humour element was missing most of the time. The story was average, saved by the persona and charisma of Sallu Bhai. The music was OK with some good numbers like "Dhinka Chika" and "Character Dheela".Asin was really no choice.Somebody else could have done better.Paresh Rawal was good, and rest supporting actors did fine in their role.All-in-all READY is a complete SALMAN KHAN stuff. If you are really a big fan of Sallu,go for it.
