Return to Christmas Creek
(2018)

A nice holiday surprise!
Tori Anderson as Amelia Hayes does a wonderful job of carrying this fun holiday movie. Stephen Huszar as Mike does a nice job of being an childhood and maybe love interest of Amelia's. Steven Weber plays Amelia's estranged Uncle Harry who runs the family Lodge in Christmas Creek. The beautiful Kari Matchett does a effortless job playing Pamela who used to be Harry's girlfriend. Lyla Elliott as Mike's niece Scout steals every scene she is in. Return to Christmas Creek does feel familiar but at the same time new. If you are looking for a nice way to spend a under 2 hours on a Christmas movie I think you will enjoy this movie.

The Beach House
(2018)

A Nice Family Movie.
I don't understand some of the comments about the acting. The dialog was a bit formulaic but it is a Hallmark Movie. The scenery by itself would make this movie worth watching. The characters are well developed and well acted. Andie MacDowell and Minka Kelly are wonderful as a mother/daughter relationship. It is a bit weird seeing Chad Michael Murray in the Carolina's again but it was also fun. Makenzie Vega as an adult was interesting after being use to seeing her as the young daughter on The Good Wife and does a nice job. I think if you are a fan of Hallmark Productions you will enjoy this movie.

Brimstone
(2016)

How does this piece of crap rate more than 3 stars.
May contain spoilers!

This is one of worst "westerns" made in years. If you feel like watching women and children being abused in too many ways to count than you need some soul searching and maybe some therapy. I have liked all kinds of westerns over the years but this type of hate filled, violence for the sake of violence involving women and children,is a waste of time and some very good actors.

I have liked most of Guy Pearce's work and I have been a fan of Dakota Fanning since "I am Sam". So I am always surprised when actors read a script like this and then make the movie. After reading some comments there seems to be an small audience for this type of movie. The same that like slasher movies I would think. The acting is still above par but the subject matter leaves a lot to be desired.

Term Life
(2016)

Fun with some great actors thrown in.
A very surprising movie. With a father/daughter rocky relationship at the heart of the movie and a great cast of actors that must have done this because they like each other and not the money. Low budget but well used scenery and sets. I am not a Vince Vaughn fan so I was surprised that I liked him in the role. But it was Hailee Steinfeld that steals every scene she is in. Which is saying something with a cast that includes Bill Paxton, Jon Favreau the great character actor Jonathan Banks as the crusty friend/mentor to Vaughn. Even the dynamic duo from Empire,Taraji P Henson and Terrence Howard have some fun. This movie is more formula then substance but it is very entertaining. I think that Term Life has more life in it than some of the other reviews say it has. I hope you will try this movie out. Hopefully you will be surprised too.

The Christmas Parade
(2014)

Rehashed storyline but easy to watch.
A rehashed Christmas story. Jaded entertainment reporter doesn't like Christmas and thinks her fiancé, played by Property Brother Drew Scott, is cheating on her with a reality star. So she goes for a drive in "upstate New York", filmed like most of Hallmark Channel Christmas movies somewhere in Canada. She has a car accident and runs into a judges fence. If this sounds familiar you must remember Doc Hollywood. She is sentenced to 25 hours community service. The movie is predictable to a fault but for some reason people like that in a Christmas movie. Myself included. The beautiful Anna Lynn McCord stars and does a good job with the script she has to work with.

Finding Christmas
(2013)

Enjoyable Christmas Movie.
It is one of the few Christmas love story movies that isn't too sappy. It does help it to be the holiday season to watch it. The cast is composed of familiar faces and it is interesting to see the beautiful Ms. Helfer in a different setting. The male leads are well acted as well. Another Hallmark Channel production to go along with their Christmas themed movies that is filmed in Canada with a large Canadian supporting cast. If you like country music this has a few Christmas songs with a country accent. It is slow to start but by ten minutes into the movie it picks up speed and is good enough that you won't be checking your watch. All in all an enjoyable Christmas movie.
