Sisterakas (2012)
Not that impressive.
Sisterakas has been dubbed as one of the best comedy film by most people in MMFF, but the truth is, it is nowhere near the high caliber finesse of the other entries. Yes it may be one of the most hilarious and laughable movies but only a few of the cast really pulled off the exuberance that really reels in the audience(Most notably the quirky lines of Vice Ganda and the antics of Ai Ai de las Alas)But what is really lacking in some of the cast is the conveying of the emotion , but what do we expect, its a comedy film, overall the two standouts of the film is Vice and Ai Ai.Yet Kris Aquino delivered a different quirkier side, it didn't quite look natural and seemed forced in a way that her (supposedly) laughing screams sounds like shrieks and very disturbing to the ears.
The problem of this film is that it has too many loopholes in the script and the repetitiveness of some lines that really after a while bores the audience (but then quickly regains momentum. The transitions or shifts of the past to present theme in the beginning of the film was a bit rushed which makes it a bit confusing.The quality of the film is also below average / below mediocre. It seemed like they made this film through the use of Windows Movie Maker. The transitions are too plain and boring.
The storyline itself is a bit repetitive. Vice Ganda also did this kind of genre in the movie This Guy's In Love With U Mare. The revenge plot is very much overused, thus becoming a snore fest.
As a family movie, it is good, but overall this film is just average, upon seeing the past appearances of Vice Ganda in comedy films, this movie is not up to par with the others, like Praybeyt Benjamin and This Guy's In Love With U Mare.
Poor cast choice for the comedy genre (only 2 stand outs) and poor editing, direction and quality.

Good Movie But Poor Mixing of Cast
I only liked Two people in this film, Lauren and Daniel they are the only tough bad-asses in this movie, but when Daniel died i was like, oh no. they made the smart person who had some good plans die. And also Lauren had the least brutal death, she was tough for getting help but froze to death. Thank goodness Kenia died. Her acting was only average, she could have been just the supporting. Kaitlyn was just a pretty face, poor acting. I go for DEAN ARMSTRONG AND ALI TATARYN because they made the movie much palatable.Good acting but only small screen time for Ali. Wrong movie to star in for the both of them (but at least Daniel's death was one of the great scenes but too gory)BTW, he looked at least thirty X. I only liked Jenna's Death, Sara and Kenia's Death , Daniel, Lauren, Dr. Ann and Dr. Brendan.
