  • I truly do not understand the negative reviews from both fans and critics regarding this movie. It is absolutely beautiful and it is a tragedy that it did not get the attention that it deserves.

Andrew Garfield completely transformed into Robin Cavendish and should have at the very least been nominated for many awards. His ability to not move his body, to be so expressive in his face, his speech pattern...come on!

Many reviews say that this movie stayed surface...stayed too positive...didn't dive into many issues that the couple faced. But it did. I think people that say this are missing the point of the whole movie, which was this couple's tenacity, love, and desire to live a full life as unhindered as possible. They didn't mope around. They didn't accept defeat. And the movie reflects that. I was a bawling mess throughout the whole movie and can't imagine how much sadder it would have made me if the movie didn't take the approach it took...which by the way, was the true story.

I pray with all the love that Andrew Garfield is getting currently, that people discover this film and see the true masterpiece that it is.
  • This show is great as it gets going. First episode was eh, second episode was improved, but by episode three I was hooked! I love seeing Emily Osment and Gregg Sulkin share the screen. I grew to enjoy all the characters and their stories. Netflix, please renew this show! It's great and we need some resolution for the cliffhanger!
  • I enjoyed this movie a lot! I loved the story and loved how though it had two clear leads, it centered on a group of friends with their own personalities and lives that were more fleshed out than Hallmark movies usually are.

Nathan Witte is great! He conveyed the emotions and heart of his character, Alex, so well! His eyes say it all.

Casey Manderson as Brian was a stand out to me, as well, despite his lack of screen time. Hallmark ought to make him the lead, as he's played many supporting roles in their movies. He deserves it!!
  • This movie was so well done! Laura Osnes & Juan Pablo Di Pace are favorites of mine individually from non-Hallmark projects, and their pairing is something I never thought of...but man, was it a good one!

One of the things that made this movie great was that, yes, it follows the Hallmark formula, but in a way that while I was watching, I couldn't really predict *how* the formula would take place, if that makes any sense. I was truly invested in the story! There were many acting, writing, and/or directing choices that were really next level and so intentional, compared to some Hallmark movies.

The only "complaint" I have is that I would have loved for some sort of excuse made to have Laura & Juan sing together. Whether in the movie or for a song in the background. They both have great voices!
  • It took a few episodes to get a groove, but then it did and I didn't want it to end! The kids carry a good chunk of the show and they do it well! They have great comedic timing!

Katharine McPhee shines in this! It was so awesome seeing her be so expressive, quick, and loud/dramatic in her mannerisms and speech...nailing a southern accent every step of the way! Normally you see her in dramas where she has been much more subdued, so I wasn't sure what to expect. She definitely impressed me! And of course, her vocals are incredible.

I wish Netflix had given it a bigger first season to let the characters, the relationships, and the story develop a bit more...even if they had extended it from 10 episodes to 13. It just felt a tad rushed, but I loved it nonetheless! Praying it gets renewed for a second season!
  • I've loved watching this on Sunday evenings (or on Hulu Monday morning when I've missed it)! I'm a huge fan of Jason Biggs already, and this solidified that more. He's a great game show host! My only complaints were that it's only a half hour, not a whole hour like other game shows produced by networks lately, so that's actually kind of a complaint and compliment wrapped in one. LOL! My other complaint was the audience. It was clear that a lot of it was canned cheers and claps, and that the audience they would show weren't actually there, so it made it feel a little fake, but I understand why they put it in. :-)
  • My friends and I went to see this just to go to the movies. I am a huge fan of the original cartoon, but I was expecting this movie to not be good. I was wrong. We laughed out loud a lot, as did the rest of the audience in the theater. Was it perfect? No. Was it fun? Yes! Don't be critical. Relax and enjoy it!
  • If you actually gives this remake a chance, it's not so bad, especially if you view it as it's own thing and not compare it to the original. I love the expanded storylines for all of the side characters, especially Baby's parents. I love the singing and that they had new artists update the same soundtrack from the 1987 film. It's a really cool concept that I think everybody should give a chance. Now, are the leads as captivating as Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey? No. Abigail Breslin is a talented actress but she was terribly miscast as Baby. Colt Prattes had the unfortunate task of trying to fill Patrick's unfillable shoes and that overshadows how insanely talented he is, especially his vocals!

Give it a chance. Is it perfect? No. Is it the original? No. Enjoy it for what it is anyway,
  • I'm surprised this has such a low rating compared to other Hallmark movies. Fiona Gumbelmann was lovely as Sarah! It had a great story that never lulled in the middle like a good bit of the Hallmark movies tend to do, at least for me. Torrance Coombs has become one of my favorite actors recently and is why I decided to record this one to watch...he did not disappoint! Hallmark needs to use him a lot more. I highly recommend this to all Hallmark lovers and even those who aren't. I thought it was great!
  • It was a movie that was very well done. I loved the story and the editing and the music. The characters and their relationships were quite deep, and as a guy, I loved that the storytelling of this leaned more on the guy's side. The roles were a bit reversed from the typical Hallmark formula and I loved it.
  • Everybody always hates on these televised musicals, and it's so unwarranted. With this one, add the toxic weird hate to Matthew Morrison that is some sort of awful joke from Glee fans. This was great! Mixed elements of all previous versions of the story, and the cast is super talented! Matthew was great as the Grinch and I loved the moments where he broke the fourth wall and made jokes relating to 2020 or other things! Was it perfect? No. But the hate it's getting is unwarranted completely. Stop being so critical, sit down, and enjoy it!
  • I personally am a big fan of this movie. I think people were expecting to be fun, joyful, and upbeat like Chicago, or other movie musicals in the past. "Nine" is a more serious musical, and I think once people grasp that, they'll be able to enjoy the movie more.

Now, there were a few things I would have changed...I would've extended Kate Hudson, Sophia Loren, & Nicole Kidman's parts. I felt they could've been utilized more throughout the story. Such as, when Claudia's agent calls Guido...it could have been Claudia calling Guido herself. There should have been a scene where Guido and Sophia Loren have a long talk...much like Guido and Lilli's conversations. And I don't know how Kate Hudson could have been used more, but I felt like I barely knew her before she started singing "Cinema Italiano". She did great with the amount of time she had, though!!

On the plus side, I thought Marion Cotillard gave a wonderful performance! Everybody did a great job, but, her and Nicole Kidman's performances really stood out to me. You can tell everybody gave it their all for this movie and they had a lot of fun doing it. You can tell that by the special features as well as the movie itself! It's not as amazing as Chicago, but it's great in a different way.
  • When I first saw the Pilot episode and the episode after, I didn't think it was all that great. It made me laugh, but I felt that the acting was forced and that Kirstie Alley was especially stiff, but was overacting at the same time. But I have continued to watch it, because it still made me laugh, and it's gotten much better. The chemistry between the actors is more apparent and Kirstie seems to be getting more comfortable, so I think it will be a good show for TV Land.

I think what people forget about TV Shows nowadays, is that when a show first starts out...particularly a sitcom...it's most likely going to be not so great the first half of the first season. It needs to find it's groove. Because we now live in the world of Netflix and season DVDs and reruns on TV, we often watch old shows, knowing how much of a hit they were. So, we expect new shows to be like that as well...especially shows with sitcom veterans such as Kirstie, Rhea, and Richard from this show..same goes for Sean Hayes in NBC's "Sean Saves the World" & Michael J. Fox on "The Michael J. Fox Show"....because they're both sitcom veterans, we expect them to just jump right in and be great. But they're still new shows. Shows such as Seinfeld, Friends, The Office, and Cheers got horrible reviews in the first season...but now they're timeless classics. So keep that in mind when watching Kirstie...it's not "Cheers" or "Seinfeld"...it's a new show with new characters. Give it time to find it's groove.
  • Warning: Spoilers
This animated movie starring Zoey 101 star Jamie Lynn Spears, acclaimed actress Brooke Shields, and Tom Arnold is great! I got it from the library only because I'm a fan of Jamie Lynn and wanted to see her in something else besides Zoey 101. It was great! Some actors can't pull off voicing in an animated movie, but Jamie Lynn nailed it! The only reason I gave it 8 out of 10 is because the beginning of the movie is kind of slow and you don't understand what's going on. But as it gets going, you understand! It has a great ending too! Singing is involved at the end too! :D

Brooke Shields is hilarious in the movie in her portrayal of Mama Bear. She fits the role perfectly! Tom Arnold's performance is fair. Doesn't do much for me.
