My eyes could not look away, the splendor of color, music, scenery were simply magnificent. The Set design was a feast of rich bold ambiance the likes I haven't seen in a film as such in a very long time. Director Nicolas Winding Refn (Valhalla Rising, Drive) takes us on a surreal journey of murder, revenge and violence, I'm fast becoming a big fan of his work. One of the major surprises for me was Kristin Scott Thomas, who plays 'Crystal'. I'll go so far to call her character, a drug Queenpin. Crystal a crime boss and mother of two sons (Ryan Gosling, Tom Burke) who share in her world of drugs and death. Kristin was wickedly beautiful in this film, I've never seen her in such a way and I found myself wanting to know or see more of her character in a back story or a stand alone film. Another major surprise for me was the performance by Vithaya Pansringarm who plays 'Chang'. Chang was no joke and was as ruthless as they comes, but didn't have the look or demeanor of sinister, violent man. Chang was a bad bad man. It lead me to believe that once you seen and understood who Chang was, you wanted no parts of him. And the fact that he was a cop, made his presence all the more frightening. I'm really trying to share my take on this film without any spoilers but for a film like this, it's hard to do. Tom Burke (Billy) is a sick demented person who likes having sex with young girls, the illegal kind, along with his lustful despicable sexual nature, he throws in extreme violence. In this case Billy's actions cause the horrific death of a 17yr old prostitute. Who's father is allowed to exact his revenge on Billy by...Chang, who then after the father violently obliterates Billy, Chang severely punishes the father for letting the young daughter get involved in prostitution, by hacking off one of his arms?! Revenge is a plenty in this film, and yes the film does have some extremely violent scenes. Ryan Gosling fans may not like this version of him, but trust me when I say this, Gosling is on the verge of because one of the great American actors, 'Only God Forgives' proves this. With all that said, 'Only God Forgives' is an amazing film...on the level of Masterful film making, from top to bottom, I give this film a 10.

I watched this film on a whim, didn't think much of it when I viewed a trailer of it. Let me tell you, although it does have some dramatic elements, 'K-11' was hilarious, especially during the beginning stages of the main character's introduction to a whole host of drug addicted inmates. Kate del Castillo (Mousey) was totally outrageous and fun to watch, trust me you'll understand why once you see her in action. Yes it was obvious K-11 was short on budget, but hey, they made due with what they had and did a good job considering. K-11 did not lack on the entertaining factor due to the various wacky characters, which is why I'm not bashing this film. I could guarantee you the cast had loads of laughs during filming. K-11 is not gratuitous, violent or vulgar as it could have been, but still manages to make you 'drop jaw' a few times throughout the film. So in my opinion, see K-11 for entertainment factor. So-called real film critics will pan this film, but don't let that sway you from viewing it. It's really not all that bad as they (real critics) may lead you to believe.

This was a film I was willing to give a chance, but like most low budget films in this genre it fails beyond belief. Think a low budget '28 days later' with splatters of 'World war z', but on a much smaller scale, a waaaaaaaay smaller scale. The intensity and ferocity was there, but it was obvious the budget didn't allow for much. The 'infected' appeared to be dressed by some wannabe costume designer, who for whatever reason decided to dress all the infected in the same tattered clothing. The film featured a pretty good young cast which included Sarah Butler from the 'I spit on your grave' remake. The saving grace to the film if any was the performance by Kayla Ewell, who seemed to be the only one who took her role serious. Again on the subject of budget, it was obvious the producers couldn't afford karo syrup and red dye number five because it was a near bloodless film. So don't be fooled by the DVD cover, you'll be greatly disappointed if you're expecting a gorefest. Lastly, the ending, believe me when I say this film has one of the most dumb and confusing endings in the history of horror films. I don't know what else I could say about this film without reviewing it with spoilers, but since I'm never the one to divulge spoilers, I'll leave up to you to decide if you wished you De-rented the Demented.

I got to view this film last week and didn't expect much...boy was I wrong. 'The Impossible' provides thrills, suspense, action and heart warming moments. I challenge anyone to not shed a tear or get misty eyed watching this film. The acting was top notch across the board and I have nothing but praise for the director and his crew, because I sat admiring the authenticity of the intense, destructive and frightening tsunami scene. Which surprising was the most realistic sequences I've seen in a film as such. I felt many emotions from beginning to end and I gather most will as well. See 'The Impossible' you will thoroughly enjoy it. And oh...it's actually based on a true events that involved the family portrayed.

One of the best if not the best film of Denzel's career. I expected some run of the mill feature, instead I watched well made film that kept my eyes fixed, not wanting to miss one second. Denzel portrays a flight pilot who (Let's say) has some major issues. These issues come into play and snowball into something that is truly frightening. 'Flight' features a top notch cast across the board, which featured an outstanding and memorable performance by non other than John Goodman (of 'Rosanne' fame). I can't not imagine anyone not enjoying this film tremendously. Everyone that I know who has seen this film, simply loved it. See 'Flight' as soon as you can...you won't be disappointed, I guarantee it.

I would have rated this much higher than a 7 but my biggest gripe with the movie was that lack of explanations for some of what was presented. Don't get me wrong I do understand many of the scenes were presented metaphorically. Case in point the opening scene...we view what I presume was a wife who made several attempts to violently kill her husband as he lies in bed. Granted the scene itself was brutal and well put together...but I had no understanding to the 'why' she was doing what she was doing to him, which left me confused and wondering. as well as some of the remaining clips. But all in all 'The ABCs Of Death' has much to offer in viewing really good unknown film directors and judging by many of the 'shorts' contained in this film, hopefully many of these same directors get the chance to make and create full length feature films soon or sometime in the future.

I can't stress how bad this film was, when I say it was bad, believe me it was bad. I've seen bad B-films that were better than this. Cinemax and Showtime have better skin flicks on cable that look like A-list films compared to this. The only saving grace is the film's star, writer and director...Rena Riffel. I call her the saving grace of the film for one reason and one reason only and that's because she's friggin HOT...well let me change that and say her body is hot, because Riffel definitely has a butterface. There's plenty of Riffel's killer body throughout this film, but as far as her acting, writing and directing skills, she seriously lacks in all three departments. I can't believe they actually considered this as a sequel to the 1995 T&A cult classic 'Showgirls'?! Glenn Plummer (who reprises his original role) is also in this film, but he obviously has loss much of his acting skills...or...he's probably on very friendly terms with Riffel, if you know what I mean?!, because there's no other reason he would choose to do this film, unless he's doing Riffel also. I'm going to apologize in advance because I'm a fan of both actors, but come on?! Anyway, watch this film if you're only out to see some Riffel bootay, other than that I have to advice people to stay away from this film....far away.

A fun filled zombie film. Definitely not one of the best, but highly enjoyable. Loved the dialog and all the actor character portrayals. The gore effects had highs and lows, meaning there were some gore effects that were crazy good and other gore effects that were most likely rushed or they didn't put too much thought into. Alan Ford had me in stitches, he did an awesome job, I guarantee you will like him a lot in this film. Rasmus Hardiker and Harry Treadaway who play the central characters were both entertaining, and I wouldn't mind if the two reprise their roles in a sequel. Lastly I wanna speak about the lovely Michelle Ryan (who plays Katey, the cousin), I sorta fell in love with her in this film and loved her fiery attitude as she helped kick some zombie butt. In closing, I really try my best not to give away any of a particular film, because we usually already know what a film is about, and the only thing that comes next is to watch the film. In my opinion spoilers suck and it takes away from what others may enjoy or dislike about a particular film, that's why I rather that others come to their own conclusion upon viewing a film for themselves. Cockney vs Zombies...I loved it!...and I hope other fans of the genre get to see it and come to love it as well.

OK, here we go. As horror fans we all would watch a Wrong Turn film even if was a Wrong Turn 17. Well let's just hope and pray that Wrong Turn 5 will be the last of the franchise, because this film has completely and totally destroyed any chances of any other wrong turn film becoming a hit or successful. Doug Bradley was so bad in this film that I felt bad for him knowing he's a horror icon. Bradley's acting was ridiculous, there were times in the film where he must've had a flashback and thought he was 'Pin Head', because I swear Bradley sounded like he was talking in his Pinhead voice?!...with quick puns and quotes even. Also, he was supposed to be the father of the 3 inbred mutant hillbillies, but why for the love all things sacred was he talking with a slight British accent?! The 3 mutant hillbillies were suppose to be the same three from WT4, but if you ask me, 2 of em shrunk down in size?! And the skinny mutant looked like he took great care of his hair, because it was long and flowing...lol. The make-up on these three were amateurish and at one point in the film I thought I seen one of the mutant's teeth slip out of place?! In my opinion the only one who took the acting gig serious was Camilla Arfwedson (who plays Sheriff Angela). But these fools even made her look ridiculous...why and how?...well because she is a small framed female, but these dummies used a (stunt) MAN dressed in her Sheriff's costume to break a glass store front door with the butt of a shotgun?! Other stupidity included having the gorgeous Roxanne McKee in love making and shower scenes and not show any sort of traditional horror film nudity?!...what a waste. But maybe she knew this film was going to be crap and didn't want to waste her delectable assets on something this bad....in that case, smart girl.

Lastly...where's all the people of the town?!...You can not tell me that EVERY single one of the townsfolk went to the festival?! Wrong Turn 5: Bloodlines, is hands down the worst of the franchise, so see it at your own risk.

I've read reviews of this film and many have seem to bash it. Good films in my opinion do not have to be perfect, and judging by many of the reviews, they all seem to wanted perfection. Let me start off by saying, no..Taken 2 was not as good as it's predecessor, but T2 delivers the goods when it comes to good ol fashion thrills chills and spills. We all know the story and expect the cliché happy ending, but the enjoyment is the ride getting there and boy what a ride it was. Liam surprised me with how good he was at hand to hand combat. He kicked butt and in the same note, he took a few knocks which made the fighting somewhat more realistic and brutal. Another surprise was Maggie Grace (who plays Kim, the daughter). There's no doubt in my mind that Maggie had a whole helluva lot of fun making this film. Maggie's role in this film will have you saying "You go girl". Taken 2 has what it takes (no pun intended) to entertain. So if some of you people out there are looking for perfection, look for it in another film. But if you're looking for a good ol fashion action and suspense...Taken 2 delivers.

First off I have to say 'The Factory' has one of the best unexpected plot twists I've seen in a long time. When the twist came, I almost loss my mind. I totally did not expect it or see the twist coming, it was definitely an OMG moment. I know I'm dwelling on the plot twist, but I had to address first because after viewing the film I was still lingering on that OMG moment. The film itself is excellent and John Cusack was amazing as always. Jennifer Carpenter who happens to be a favorite actress of mine, was great as Detective Kelsey Walker. There's so much I want to give away in this film but it's so damn good that I want people to view it for themselves, so whatever you do, don't read any reviews of this film that contains spoilers. Experience 'The Factory' as a fresh pair of eyes and I guarantee you will not be disappointed, it's a top shelve thriller.

Nic Cage is in a lot of films, especially in the past few years, in which most have gone straight to DVD. Well 'Stolen' is a film of his that should of stayed buried deep in some Hollywood storage warehouse. One of the worst Nic Cage films ever and I also have to say that Josh Lucas's character (Vincent) has got to be one of the lamest film villains ever. I mean this guy was so over the top with his character that I was thinking as I watched the film..."Does he really think he's doing a great acting job, does he think he'll be highly noted and respected for his performance in this film?" Malin Akerman (whom I totally adore) was wasted in this film and it really didn't matter if her character was in this film or not. The story has been told a hundred times before in films, and the action was used just to keep some people employed. As far as Nic Cage, there was nothing new, he is the same character in most of his straight to DVD films. It's likes all he cares about is receiving a paycheck. Why Cage has gotten like this (lazy, a loss of passion for acting, and just being blah) we'll never know. But see this film; make up your own mind, but don't tell me that I didn't warn ya.

I can say that I enjoyed the hell outta this film. My only gripe was the soundtrack which was composed by Ryan Beveridge, his music did not suit this film. Although I did like the fact that music by Karen Carpenter was throw in there (trust me her song belonged in this movie), you'll see why when you view this film. But other than the soundtrack. This film rocked, from start to finish. You won't believe how awesome Kevin Sorbo was as 'The Stranger'. He played his character with wicked perfection and my thoughts of him portraying 'Hercules' in the television series were quickly washed away by the flow of bloodshed he and his female counterparts(Valerie Azlynn and Alicia Leigh Willis)splattered throughout the film. There were a few flaws in the directing, but other than that Director P.J. Pettiette has delivered in my opinion a horror classic. So I beg of you, please please whenever you get the chance, see 'Julia X' it's a bloody good time.

....of Beyonce. Why Beyonce was cast in this film was beyond comprehension? Beyonce was out of place and Idris's character as her husband almost seemed like he couldn't stand to be married to her. In actuality Beyonce was the type of wife that causes men to cheat. She was always up his bum for the littlest things regarding other woman and never let him fully explain certain situations, jumping down his throat even before he had time to open his mouth. At one point in the film she kicks him out of his own home without knowing what really happened, which I found myself frustrated with how she overacted about the situation. And again during this kicking out of the house scene she of course acts all loud and ghetto. Which is funny because at one point in the film she was having a conversation with her husband about management information systems courses???....I cracked up because it didn't sound right coming out of her mouth, as if the writers were trying make her character appear like she was an intelligent business savvy woman...wrong...lol Beyonce character also seemed like she didn't have any trust issues. Idris's character was a VP of a major firm, which in the film he had intellect, intelligence and was very professional. Beyonce on the other hand was nothing more than a hoodrat, and it showed throughout this film. Beyonce should not have been cast in this film, this type of casting only shows me that just because someone is a huge star, no matter if they have acting skills or not, some big honcho in Hollywood will cast people like her in their films just because they think they can make a buck. OK this film wasn't on the level of a classic such as Fatal Attraction, but without Beyonce, it could have been so much more.

A crash mix of surreal and extreme, with large heaps of insane snappy wit thrown in for spice. I loved this film from start to finish and who knew the stunningly gorgeous AnnaLynne McCord had it in her to pull off such an extreme character? I read where some viewers said her character was annoying and mainstream?...really? I don't think no young actress of today's generation could have pulled off this role with such conviction and devotion. Not only was Ms McCord's performance outstanding, all actors in this film pull their own weight and more. Traci Lords blew me away (no pun intended) with her performance. I watched Traci show in this film why she has always been serious about being accepted as a real full fledged mainstream actress. This is definitely not a lighthearted film, it's more like a darkhearted film that sets up to prove, life ain't what it's all made out to be. Some viewers also state that the film wants to be serious at times then throws in these absurd moments?! Me?...I don't think the film makers intended this to be serious at all, meaning...if it was meant to be such a way, then it could have easily been made to be a straight up demented horror film. I'll even go so far to call this a lighthearted 'American Psycho', but with more color, wit, kicks and punches. Anyway, I loved this film and fell in love with Ms McCord's performance. If you see this film, see it based on your desire to view a cool film.

I actually held off from watching this film, I guess because I have a thing against PG or PG 13 films, especially when is comes to horror, or thrillers. But guess what...'Gone' was really a good thriller as well as being a cool little mystery. I never heard of the Director (Heitor Dhalia) until this film and I must say I was quite impressed by the look and style of the film. Dhalia has a great eye, because the scenery in this film was simply breathtaking. A good pace was set and at times I found myself catching my breath due to some tense moments spread throughout the film. I was also impressed by Amanda Seyfried's performance, she held her own and delivered on all aspects of what her character was suppose to give in telling this story. My only grip was Wes Bentley's cop character. Bently's character wasn't really needed and didn't serve no actual purpose, although the film makers lead you to believe his character has some relevance to the story. 'Gone' is not a blockbuster type film, but holds it's own in the tradition of 'Kiss the girls' and other such film thrillers. So when you get a chance to see this film, get yourself, your date, or family a big bowl of popcorn and sit back, because you'll have a nice little viewing experience.

Another film I was in anticipation to see, only to be disappointed. Very misleading film that boils down to a father and his two children who end up getting the flu. As the fevers start the set in, the hallucinations and hysteria begin. I went into this film thinking it was going to be an awesome haunted house film or in the case a haunted cabin film. All my presumptions were based on the great promo trailer that I've seen almost daily. The thing about having a really bad fever it is possible to have vivid hallucinations, because I can still recall the three witches that I swore were plotting to cook and eat my mother when I had a really bad fever. During my hallucination I damn near killed our cat 'Buster' because during my fever I thought he was one of the witches who were in this plot against my mother and were now out to kill me because I knew what they were plotting...lol (True story). Barricade is like buying a bag of sweet juicy plums only to find out when you get home and open the bag, it's nothing but a bag of dried up prunes. Don't be fooled by the promos or trailer or even the box cover, this is not a ghost or haunted story, it's nothing but a father and his two children who get the flu and start having hallucinations. And if you do happen to watch this film, wait until you see what the dummies who made this film had the nerve to do at the very end of this movie, as if they wanted the viewer to say, "Oh no, the cabin was really haunted". Get the you know what outta here. I'll never tell a person not to see a film, so go ahead watch this film if you're curious to see for yourself.

Jennifer Lynch's Chained sorta reminded me of a Lifetime movie and a good straight to DVD film. I say this because the film has it's dark creepy and sometimes depraved moments but, with all the blood and violence involving women, there was not a shred of nudity. I won't get into details regarding the lack of nudity, but it kinda takes away from the experience a viewer will have of what happens to these women during the film? I kept thinking, why show all this violence to the point of gore and no nudity, if as the film maker your intentions were to have a viewer of the film believe these women were possibly raped and/or violently tortured? You'll see my point once you view the film. With that said this film may be seen as a psychological horror film because it tries to provide the viewer with much insight on a psychotic mind. There were many flaws in this film to make it fail in what it attempted to give the viewer, but I do have to say Vincent D'Onofrio was brilliant as always, I couldn't see any other actor playing this part. Without Vincent this film couldn't fly at all. But as stated previously the film did have some great high points and the lowest of lows. An original idea, but poorly executed, which I blame the director and the writer. But still it's an interesting film based in the premise alone. So do I recommend it?....of course.

Being a fan horror films, anticipated seeing this film very much, but Famine is beyond campy horror, it makes bad campy horror look good. I am a huge fan of Ryan's films Gutterballs and Hanger even Star Vehicle was good for me, but this time Ryan opted to find the worst actors he could find, along with using a story that showed he was obviously drunk when he wrote it. This film was bad bad bad, acting, story, lighting, anything you can think of, all was bad. I'm still trying to figure out why this movie was titled Famine? Whatever the case if you're a fan of Ryan Nicholson's previous films then you'll wanna watch this just for the sake of being a fan.

Incredible film! I sat and watched the film and couldn't believe a film as such came out of Finland?! Many of the performances were unexpectedly great. I've seen many foreign films over the years; mainly horror films, but 'Naked Harbour' in my opinion rivals many 2012 American dramas. Some may find the film boring and uneventful, but those sort of people are the ones who'll flock to films like 'Transformers and Twilight' and will never understand the purity of such a film as this. If the Oscars ignore this film I will be shocked and amazed. I recommend this film to all those who acknowledge that there are films like this in the world, to those who simply love...good films.
