I take pride in never watching a series that makes me wait for the next episode; I usually wait until a series is completed before I start watching it. However, that changed with this show. I love Kathy Bates; she is a true American treasure. The writing in this show is phenomenal, and the cast of characters is just as impressive. It's funny, relevant, has shocking plot twists, and is emotionally gut-wrenching at times. Now, I find myself eagerly awaiting Thursdays for the next episode. It's totally worth the wait. I don't know how, but Kathy Bates has made television watchable again. I never watched the old Matlock, but I imagine this reiteration of it has overshadowed it completely.
First let me start by thanking Meg for staying realistically pretty. Having seen her my whole life and flowering into this lovely natural person feels right. She's a person we have watched for decades and brought us so many happy memories and good times. So watching her again is like seeing an old friend. Ironically that's what the movie is about.
Same for David Duchovny. Also aging beautifully and gracefully. Like a fine wine these two have gotten better over the years.
This movie a tiny bit chaotic and perhaps at times dissonant if you're patient and let the characters develop it comes together, like a bow, all tied up in knots but makes a nice wrapping.
Well written, it's about two people and their past and what they thought of the "what could have been" among other topics.
The characters are not predictable as you might think. Nice surprises through out. The imperfections of their past and their present is endearing.
If you like good dialogue, subtle acting, and unexpected turns you will enjoy this movie and it will be a treat to see Meg and David once again bringing us entertainment and good memories.

I can't recall a continuance of any show being good. The list of failures is long. But this one THEY HIT OUT OF THE PARK! He's back and he's his beautiful glorious, stuffy self absorbed self. Even the characters are a wonderful addition to his new life.
Frasier is my favorite tv show and my family is forever quoting a Frasier episode. They are comically written, witty, and clever. The acting sublime. And somehow they have managed to recapture this and make Frasier in later years the sweet adorable pain in the funny bone once again. The casting is topknotch. The writing is stellar. Kelsey Grammar is perfection. I have watched the heck out of Frasier and now I hope to do so again with this new season.
Long live Frasier. Hoping to see some of the old characters come back too. I love this show and it's like coming home again to an old friend.
