Turning Red
(2022)

Omg the friendship...
Loved the friendship in this movie... It was exciting from the second they were introduced... But the movie as a whole was a meh for me... Fine I would say...

The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf
(2021)

Hell... Respect...
Amazing... What held me was the plot... It was just too good... Really enjoyed... An apt movie for the witcher world...

Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
(2020)

Fun
Enjoyed... I thoroughly enjoyed this one... It's a real comedy... Maria plays the role of the daughter and has performed an amazing act... She was the energy of the movie.

The Suicide Squad
(2021)

Well directed movie but with the same old story
Suicide Squad 2 is actually good... I enjoyed it... It's really colourful unlike the usual DC movies... So that was a change. The peacemaker character was done with justice. He was shown like a actual villain killing off innocent people for purpose without remorse. You don't see that often... And then there was Margot Robbie... She just makes Harley, a queen... James has done another good job with harlet character as well... Overall I'd say... The direction is good and characters are kind of better but the plot is so so so same... I mean it's like copy paste... Leader reluctant at first... Brought into team using his daughter as card... Villains becoming good at the end... It's so same...

Rurôni Kenshin: Densetsu no saigo-hen
(2014)

Good one... A trilogy so faithful to it's genre
What makes me appreciate this movie is the way they respected the villain... I mean, the creator really really respected the villain... They were truthful... One of the annoying part in much of the action movies is that they begin with a great description of the villain.... The unbeaten one or something of that sort... And towards the end he is thrashed by hero... But not here... Shishiro is deadly... He is ruthless and unstoppable... It took almost 4 of the main characters together to get him... (Yeah the hero was injured... So they respected the hero as well but that people always do... Doesn't they? 😅) and even with that team they doesn't succeed... Villain loses because of his condition... His health issue... His strength is also his weakness...

Rurôni Kenshin: Kyôto taika-hen
(2014)

The same...
I knew what I was getting into... A pure action movie... I shouldn't have expected more especially after the first movie (which I loooved). But I must say that I'm a bit disappointed with the lack of improvement. The hero's decision to not killed was again tested by capturing the heroine... So same as the first one.. The only new thing I felt in this one was the part where the hero's sword broke... Except for that I don't think the writer's had much planned... But then again, I loved the actions and music.. And there is also one character whose plot I am expecting a different take. . Hope he has a good story arc..

Rurôni Kenshin: Meiji kenkaku roman tan
(2012)

An action movie that's so true to it's genre
That's all i was hoping.. A pure action movie and boy oh boy, it's great... You could complain about the storyline, it isn't the best of it's genre. Although it's about questioning the new found moral code of an ex-assassin, I must say that the villains plan seemed a bit artificial... I mean to get the hero to break his code the villain kidnaps the heline and waits... Meh... That's a bit old cliche.. But then again like I said it's an action movie that is so pure to it's genre..

With all this said I must also say about my admiration for the bgm as well as the stunt choreography... The hero was amazing with his stunts but the emotional scenes were a bit weak.

I Care a Lot
(2020)

Rosamund Pike
I really liked the movie... It is a fresh new idea in my opinion with no characters having a positive morality. I haven't seen much movies where the main character is an antagonist but I really enjoyed this one. And Rosamund Pike... I love her soooo much because she really made me hate her... Top notch acting and casting... I'd also like to appreciate the hair stylist... Marly was well characterised by all...

Enola Holmes
(2020)

A complete misfire... For me...
I am that guy whose mind lights up with Robert Downey Jr and Benedict Cumberbatch the moment the name Sherlock pops up. So when a movie comes up related to Sherlock, the expectations are high and kind of... specific. And hence Enola holmes have been a complete disappointment for me.

Before I complain more about the movie, I must first appreciate Millie Brown. Her vibrant presence was the highlight of the movie unopposed. Really impressed with her and I look forward for her further movies.

Now my complaints, I shall start with the weak plot. So weak that it never got me intrigued. Sometimes you even wonder why there is Sherlock which comes to my next disappointment, Sherlock.

Is it wrong to be excited to see some of Sherlock's detective skills and when you make such a movie you are supposed to provide the audience with as much deductions as possible. Here is a Sherlock who comes up with some conclusion after the viewers are provided with the knowledge and that too with some poor little deductions.

Henry Cavill... Big fan of his Witcher and Superman... But Sherlock??? I really doubt this was his role. I get Sherlock is emotion less but that doesn't mean he is expressionless... Right?

Ted
(2012)

Meh...
Okay... Just an okay... The talking teddy was a cool thing but except for that it was almost the cliche... I loved the stalker idea... The photos on his walls and all that and then it were just too predictable...

Chemical Hearts
(2020)

A slow toned teenage romance
I admit the movie had a plot, a wonderful crux I may say, but it didn't come out as it should have. This role seem to be written for Austin Abrams, this is perfect for him... Almost an emotionless guy wondering his place and his love Then Lili Reinhardt... What a beauty she is... The actors had done a good job although I didn't like the pairing much... Now off to movie... The whole movie had that sad undertone that really affected the mood... Felt like dragging most of the part... Dom and Grace seemed to had a great relationship, a made for each other sort off love, but it didn't come out that severe... Basically I might say the plot had lots of emotions but the movie didn't... Overall, okay... If you are doing nothing or something watch it...

Blended
(2014)

Sweetness Overloaded
A very sweet, simple movie with some good LOL moments. This is one of those movies that would really cheer you up... Though filled with lots of feel good cliches, this should be anyone's list of romantic comedies. Never been a fan of Sandler or Barrymore but this one completely changed my view, they were perfect as they were in 50 first dates.

Chef
(2014)

A feel good ride
This was a good experience. I am impressed with Jon Favreau. This is his first directed movie I am watching. After an initial lag, the introduction of characters and plots seemed a bit boring but then as the father son duo clicked it became a better version. The movie never had a dark element, it was smooth ride which is one other reason that I liked. There were some 2 or 3 jokes which were good but the movie was mainly on the father son relation and the cooking just a side dish. Overall, I would say watch it if you are in need of some safe feel good movie, dont expect LOL moments or emotional moments, its just a ride a father and his goes on...

Horrible Bosses
(2011)

Fun Ride all the way
One of the best comedies watched... So fun... Lots of jokes that makes you laugh out loud... A different plot... It's a good movie... Worth watching...

Stuck in Love
(2012)

A good movie shredded into pieces...
After a slow start I was starting to enjoy the movie especially when Lou came and rusty and Kate got good but then, I don't know what happened... So many clichés usual dramatic stuffs like dad had already cheated and Lou calling when his mom died? Come on... Stephen king calling... Mom and dad gets together... That all ruined for me... But I would admit the actors were wonderful, good job... The writer seemed to have some ideas but couldn't complete it well I think and that Kate getting lost scene... That was amazing... She on lap of Rusty... Very hard scene... I wish he did more things like that... Overall... I wouldn't recommend to be frank but going through wouldn't be that bad I guess...

Kirin no tsubasa: Gekijouban Shinzanmono
(2011)

Mystery all the way mixed with drama
As I watch more and more Keigo Higasino movies, I'm more and more excited about him. What a writer. I really have to read his novels after this movie. The author caught my attention from suspect X and then midsummer's Equation both which were fascinating. But unlike those 2, here the investigative officer isnt a Sherlock Holmes genius, he is a simple dedicated officer. For a newcomer to Keigo movies, this might seem an average movie with lots of plot holes but for a fan of his works this is a wonderful movie. What makes it different from other investigative movies is that although it is a thriller it is more of an emotional thriller, the pace is good but not the fast type in usual investigative movies Overall I really loved the movie and I'd greatly recommend this to all who have enjoyed his other works

The Half of It
(2020)

A highschool love triangle with all the clichés but still unique
A shy, studious Ellie is in love with the school's beauty queen Aster but turns out her neighbour Paul (a kind hearted poor fellow) is also in love with her. Ellie helps him send letters to Aster and thats the plot... Who sends letters these days? But still, the letters are sweet (yeah they do upgrade to chats later). Letters are a cliche in many of the romantic movies but making that letters not to praise their love with philosophy and all instead using them to know one another is not cliche... The lists goes on... With lots of clichés but still with its uniqueness... The movie is lots of questions... About love about friendships... The flow is a bit slow but I guess that coz the place Squamish ( or something like that) is a calm place and that's why the calm tone. Overall it's a good movie, it's an exploration...

One Day
(2011)

Romantic drama... Good one... That's it
It's a fine movie but I feel I shouldn't read the book instead of movie because it's a long story and the movie seem to have stuffed it into 100-120 mins... So overall, a good but not a great Romantic drama

Hot Fuzz
(2007)

Fun rollercoaster
Edgar Wright is fun... This movie is a rollercoaster... Fast funny gripping... Amazing movie... Though the climax sequence were the ones that made it more rollercoaster quick and funny I felt it being quite lengthy and that's why I took down 2 stars for its rating because had it been shortened a bit... I'd rate it a 10... Great movie...

Shaun of the Dead
(2004)

See now that's a comedy movie
This movie is good. It has drama, horror, romance, bromance and lots lots of comedies. Wonderful movie, never gets you bored. A must watch movie... Edgar Wright would be another director whom I should add to my list... Wonderful direction... Shaun, you've got red on your shirt...

Blue Jay
(2016)

Walking along a thin line for about 80mins
It's a simple movie with just 2 characters and it's really touching... Childhood sweetheart meet again and throughout the movie they walk along that thin line and put us under that situation that scares whether they cross that line or not... I really like that... Sarah Paulson... What a beauty and an actress she is...

Failan
(2001)

A beautiful melodrama
Melodrama isn't my genre and if you are going in expecting a movie in which a goon is changed after getting married to the actress after she starts living with step by step, you are wrong... Not at the cliche romantic flick that I was expecting this movie is an artistic beauty. It's subtle but still hurting. Choi min-sik... What an actor he is... This movie is his...( I don't know much about the technical side because I was so gripped in his performance) there was a lot of simple but some out of the box acts from his part at certain scenes... That scene when he lights his cigarette reading her letter... Seeing her dead body... What an actor... The movie took its time to get in but thinking back it was necessary but I felt the lag during those portions maybe it was because I was expecting a Romantic flick as I said before... Anyways a must watch if you are seeking a slow romantic movie

Kita kita
(2017)

A cute simple movie
It is a short movie with only about 1.5hours and it is simple... Throughout the movie there is just 2 cast members and maybe 2-3 guest roles but it still grips you and is worth a watch if you are seeking a romantic flick

Portrait de la jeune fille en feu
(2019)

Now that's a beauty
A no bgm movie, so I think you have to be prepared if you are not into those type of movie but after an initial difficult the director comforts you and you are in peace with the movie... Well made and hats off to the actresses... Man... I don't have any words... They made it look so easy...

The last 2 scenes were amazing where she sees the portrait with the page number and the last single shot performance by Adele... Again, no words...

The Parent Trap
(1998)

Another Nancy Meyer Sweety...
Just loving Nancy Meyer movies... A sweet movie with a simple plot... Lindsay Lohan was cute throughout although at some parts I felt overacting but still great for her age... Natasha was the other beauty... Loved her... It's a good movie but I really couldn't digest the part where their parents couldn't differentiate them... I really hoped it would come as a twist or something but that should've been there... Even the butlers noticed... Except for that part a good movie...
