Bottle Rocket
(1996)

Good acting but absolutely no direction
Good acting but absolutely no direction - literally, the film wanders along aimlessly until a dubious end. Is it a drama, a caper, etc... It is a nothing in my opinion. Waste of 90 minutes. Every 10 minutes or so/ chapter there is a feeling that "here we go" - the plotline is moving forawrd disappointingly it stagnates and never develops. Really, this is a pointless film that could have been a lot better. A proper waste of time. It misses a lot more that is hits, about 9 misses to 0 hits per ten minutes.

Wild Hogs

Excellent Comedic Film. But I Think Viewing Certs to make it family friendly hurt the film
Excellent Comedic Film. But I Think Viewing Certs to make it family friendly hurt the film. Hard to add more really, but here are a few words; Caught between a family comedy and adult comedy I still love it Anything with W H Macy in it is worth the watch. Travolta is very good, and the co-stars also match up. Well worth a watch. I have watched it 4 times over the years and still love it.

Was 10/10 Now 0/10 (As of 2020)
Some fantastic moments and the early years were fantastically funny, however it seems in recent years the ideas has run dry. Now we have "Mel B" she is awful. To avoid disappointment simply miss out the last 3 to 4 series' (2017-2020). Mel B stopped me watching the show, so she is a powerful influence in all the wrong ways. Goog programme ruined.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2
(2015)

I like this film very much, but one character almost ruins the plot
I am not a fan way out there sci-fi stories with fictionalised cars and planes etc...I like to keep my films close to reality. However despite this I like this film very much. The lead actress carries the whole film and indeed the whole series of films, she is excellent. The story-line is fictional, however the main theory about a big elite power group is now emerging, so the basic lline of the film is well worth consideration for future generations. One of my main gripes is the character of Gale Hawthorne. The actor who plays him cannot act to save his life, his character is completely anachronistic and his character development is absolutely ludicrous, from poor, simple coalface miner to some kind of crack top elite forces leader of troops is so unreal and utterly unbelieveable. The character is so out of place it is as though someone else wrote his script and dropped his character in from afar. Despite Gale's character being idiotic and the acting much the same I rte this film 9/10

Knives Out

Daniel Craig's Accent makes the film "comedic" in all the wrong ways.
Daniel Craig's Accent makes the film "comedic" in all the wrong ways. Daniel Craig's Accent makes the film "comedic" in all the wrong ways. His accent is as bad as, no even worse than Kevin Costner's in JFK. I think the only reason can be that Daniel Craig's was the money behind the film and he wanted the part, I can see no reason that a sane person would have given the role to play a southern American to him. His acting and accent is embarrassing. Why not let him play a character with an British accent or get a an actor who can talk the accent required. Shame, Daniel Craig's performance ruins a decent film. Hence 2/10 from me.

Melding Fiction onto Factual Events Is Nevr Goin Work
Hard to judge, BUT 3/10 is my score. Let's be honest if the writers/directors/producers wanted to create a historic film, then they failed when they included some many wild and ludicrous inaccuracies, however, for a fictional film / tv series then it is good entertainment. I worry about films, TV shows and movies that try to re-invent history like this series does. Not everyone knows, understands and appeciates the nuances and even and facts surrounding WW2 and subsequent events. Werner Von Braun didn't help the USA land on the moon, it never happened, but he did help NASA proceed and outwit the USSR in the "Space Race" and he helped to kid the USSR that the USA did have more knowledge than they actually possesssed. So Nazi workers helped the American Way, hard to stomach but factual. Getting back to my original it is so dangerous to make filsm/series like this "based" on fact or "actual events" when stories are created for entertainments' sake. Not all viewers will have experience or knowledge to appreciate that that series is a work of fiction that distorts history. The facts alone are astonishing and shocking enough it beggars belief why fiction NEEDS to be added.

Cold Pursuit
(2019)

Good Thriller that tries a Comedy Theme, but fails....Badly
Despite, or even inspite of Liam Neeson's usually cardboard acting this film is really pretty good and will keep you watching once you start. The thing that bugs me is the oddball (not in a good way) attempt at comedy, if fails every time, probably over a dozen elements meant to be humourous are just not. The worst 2 (of many) are the two differnent body style homosexual bodyguards kissing and discussing their next holiday - a re-telling of the James Bond Diamonds are Forever comedic gay romantic scenes (also hitmen), thing it isn't funny. The main baddie is so OTT petty bad it falls flat, really silly. Otherwise a watchable film, depsite the cast.

Have I Got News for You
(1990)

Unfunny, Left Wing BBC Propaganda, Hard to Luag Once. Shame it used to be funny.
My title says it all really. Just cheap and unfunny pokes of fun at anyone who happens to the right of Karl Marx. The cast used is stale and their early 2000's humour is anachranistic, like the politics of the host and guests. Week after week after week we have liberal left wingers from the arts and media deriding decent people who happen to have a different outlook to them. It is all really childish and we've seen it before - MANY, MANY Times I have always watched this programme since is inception over 2 decades ago, it was funny then, but now it is just a sad left propaganda production from the Biased Broadcasting Corporation.

Unbalanced. The contibutors range from liberal left wing persons to extreme ultra radical left persons. I used to watch this series avidly on the weekday evenings, however the two reviewers to bait each other range from liberal left to radical left. A very biased programme that offers elite, deluded and minority reviews in the UK. My advice is watch it once and then you will agree with my review, or to save 50 minutes of your life just avoid this programme

What a brilliant idea, what a complete hash of bringing it to the screen!
What a brilliant idea, what a complete hash of bringing it to the screen!

Where start;

A) Plot holes are so mountainous you need oxygen to reach the top of them, Example 1 - The lead characters know they are being watched/tapped in very way incl. electronically, yet they continue to use their original mobile phones to discuss their "secret thoughts". To have a hope of secrecy you would - even as a luddite - buy a pay as you go phone with cash / no names / no trace etc... The characters are apparently so daft that they don't think of this option.

B) Acting abilities; the acting is so, so poor It is like watching an under 14's kids Christmas (holiday) play; Missed points to act, awful acting in general from all the key actors, nnot just one or two, but everyone is so cardboard and unbelievable it is a disgrace upon the casting team. For goodness sake there are less 10 key roles to be cast, surely better fees could have been offered to attract performers.

C) The story was a absolutely brilliant concept and could have been developed in better ways in some many aspects, yet the plotline is more of a soap then a a thrilling storyline, maybe this was the intended ideal, but it is flawed and ruined as fantastic concept.

D) Apologies for repeating myself, but bear with me, the acting ability of the cast is so bad it deserves on encore of my ire, Awful acting throughout!

If the storyline was weak to begin with I could accept, maybe understand 4th rate acting talent and third rate screenwriting to be employed, but the story and theory is so strong and fantastic it makes the ruination of this series so much harder to take. This is why I feel so cheated to have to endure the end result.

3/10 - Very Disappointing

Serial Killer with Piers Morgan
(2017)

Bullying by an arrogant ponmpous man in the form of "interview"
Now, I am no friend of killers and no liberal let 'em free on license person, I do however believe in the old adage "TWO wrongs don't make a right". Mr Morgan appears to delight in bullying and intimidating the killers under interview, verging on glotaing - this benefit no-one. Killers and serial killers are something that should be investigated and learned from. In some cases execution may be acceptable, maybe not - I am not reviewing the case for or aganst. To belittle and try to make another person feel worthless maybe something a relative of a murder victim would wish to do, I imagine, surely a serious study on the subject deserves a better way.

Williams
(2017)

psycophantic, Elite, Aloof and Mis aligned with Most F1 Fans view of the sport
I have followed Formula One since I was 5 years old in 1974. I find the people in the documentary are psycophantic, aloof and far removed from the working man, who are the backbone of the sport. Maybe, me being a working man am myself at odds with F1, however those who are lucky enough to have the silver spoon located firmly in their mouths pervade the Williams F1 family. Sir Frank Williams - "A poor Northener" Now that is stretching credulity and frankly is not true. I bear no malice, but a rich family having fun with motor racing doesn't have any resonance to me. It's a rich man and family story and good luck to them, but I wish Ms Williams could walk a mile in my shoes, it would broaden her horizons no end. Then again I fear Claire would not survive a working class environ. CONCLUSION; A jolly good documentary for the posh boys and gals who live in the world most of us will never see. Quote Frank was a a "POOR NOTHERNER" ...really. Give me a BREAK...Does Ms Williams know what a poor notherner is? i imagine she has no clue. POOR DOC 1/10

UFO
(2018)

SPOILER ALERT What has happened to Gillian Anderson's hair
As a lover of Gillian Anderson - sadly not literally - all the way back to the original x-files I need to know what the hell happened to her hair, she looks like the decrepit Sharon Osborne with purple hues...Anyway back to the film, it starts really well with good young actors, but the film gradually disintegrates into a mishmash with no real direction. The ending where the film is linked to real life airport sightings seems like an after thought and plays really poorly. Oh Gillian please do not use the Osborne's hairdressser EVER Again, I beg you.

Downrange
(2017)

Really Lazy and Poor Continuity and Plot 3/10
I and you all know to enjoy a horror a film we have to suspend our belief and let things go that ordinarily we would question. The continuity and incessant silly plot lines make this film just too much to take seriously. Spend 10 minutes watching, all is tense and enjoyable then a stupid and bizarre action sequence/action occurs. It wouldn't take much to avoid these bad choices, but I suppose that is why some horror films are poor (this one), some are good and others really good-great. COMMENT. watchable but very, very silly

Bad Samaritan
(2018)

So it is noigh....
Accents are comical, it is hard to see past the silly irish accents. "....It's an irish thing..." says the young actor, sadly the accents are not irish, they are comically fake. Problem solved, get an irish actor or don't force the irish issue; either choice is simple and will improve the film.

Death Wish
(2018)

Bruce Willis or Charles Bronson....One fits, one doesn't
YET ANOTHER cheap and lazy remake, are film makers sooo lazy that all they can do is remake old classics. Shame on those involved. Brucie is no Charlie Bronson, his acting skills and on screen presence isn't a patch on Bronson. What next Brucie plays Mr Majestic.....goodness me i hope not, don't ruin another classic title

The Cloverfield Paradox
(2018)

Just awful.
Awful cast, awful storyline, awful acting, awful sound (cannot near voices, however, silly side noises are deafening) requiring constant volume changes. Basically an awful accumulation of acting, best avoided.

Hereditary
(2018)

Oh dear, when you know Gabriel Byrne is involded you know what to expect.
Just a quicky. Gabriel Byrne and CGI in first few minutes tell a tale. Both are poor at best. Mr Byrne somehow still eakes a living out of film acting, I really do not know how he does it, he cannot act with any authenticity, thats probably why his appearances in film are so limited, thankfully. The accents and acting of others are also not good, his wife goes from standard American to deep southern irish from one scene to the next....why???. The film is slow and plodding, I imagine that the intnded outcome was for a moody and tense atmosphere, but it really is poor. Really a dull film, with third rate actors doing what they do (earning a living by trying to be film actors)

Ready Player One
(2018)

If you like cartoons and kids characters it's probably great, if not it's awful
This is a awful. Cheesey "old skool" comments and music combined with sterotypical and daft cartoon chracters make this film awful, It reminds me of Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but that was funny. Cartoons are for kinds or very light hearted fun for adults. 1/10. Sauage party was FAB, But defo not for kids

Eddie the Eagle
(2015)

Awful, anachranistic mockery. Poor!
The sets are all out time and place, as someone who the 80's first hand I know the sets are very unrealisitic. Clearly someone who was not around at the time and/or has no grasp, knowledge or understanding of the historical element, which is really sad. (TWO TRIBES BY FRANKIE WAS NOT 1986) The you guy who plays Eddie , at presumably 15 yrs (we are not told his age) took his acting and twitches from the character Liam in the Benidorm ITV series. Alas Liam plays his part for comic slapstick laughs, this kid is painfully laughable - in a BAD way. Keith Allen is his usual thesbian self, hammy acting is fine in the theatre but it does not transfer well to film. I imagine that this ridiculously hogh score for this film (7/10) is from folks who weren't around at the time and see the eighties as slapstick, comic and only good to laugh at and take pity on. A very sad film. This review is no reflection on Eddie the Eagle who was not a man to poke fun at (though he was happy to downplay himself) he was a man who represented Britsh fortitude to fight against the odds and do his best, win or lose. To mock him and the era is a pathetic way to exploit the past. 2/10 POOR.

American Ripper
(2017)

Ludicrous Garbage!
My title says it all really. If the CIA have "operatives" as guillible and downright naive as Ms Fox God help the USA. Avoid wasting your valuable time watching cheap tv trash like this.

Money
(2016)

Predictable Plot and Poor Acting Performances. Not to mention a ridiculous accent
The film is watchable enough and passes the time quite easily. However the acting is abysmal and why oh why do we keep film-makers keep making the bad guy a middle aged pompous English twit, which an accent that is seldom heard in England unless one visits a Royal Palace. The accent was silly and affected and does not reflect how English people speak. Even the aristocracy do not sound like this. The acting performances and silly accents make the film very hard to take seriously, it is a wooden film with every plot turn expected and in some cases down right ludicrous. How anyone can possibly rate this film above 5 is beyond my understanding.
