Flightplan
(2005)

How???
OK I am confused. Jodie Foster character tells her daughter that they can nap in the back of the plane where there were many empty rows. This was when the plane was boarded by many people already. A scene or 2 later we have Jodie Foster waking up in the back of the plane with the daughter's blanket/teddy bear and pillow next to her as if they did walk to the back of the plane. She even told the crew that she went to the back of the plane to nap with her daughter. So how did she take her daughter to the back of the plane to nap with no other passengers seeing them get out of their seats and walking thru the aisle? Remember, this was all when the plane was already boarded. Someone help me on this one. Major flaw or did I miss something? Thanks.

The Stickup
(2002)

I like the good with the bad
I am a James Spader fan and I did n-joy this movie. The following may be plot spoilers but worth mentioning in a review. All the other comments are correct in being low budget, sound quality and soundtrack decision. However, I thought it was somewhat of a smart movie also. When guilty cop, with a gun, wants to check where the money is he has the innocent cop check and show him. He could have checked himself and it could have been a typical distraction/fight scene. Instead, guilty cop tells other to check while holding him at gunpoint. Another was the smart discovery by the young FBI agent with the ATM camera. Good thinking, and not something I thought to check. Sure, the point about the woman being a nurse AND ex-wife of the town sheriff was a perfect movie plot, however, I thought all was handled on a smart level. Plus the subplot with other FBI agents added life to this movie. Rating: 7 out of 10.

The Smokers
(2000)

I liked what it wanted to be..
OK, first, I am a movie buff so I bought this DVD used for $4. Can't go wrong- right? Some familiar faces in the cast, female director, good premise, I liked the revenge factor etc..But it just seemed that the female characters didn't learn a thing as this movie went on. They wanted true love, men to respect them, so they devised a plan to make the guys feel like being the weaker of the sexes. However, their quest for revenge didn't teach them a thing. They still were "1-night" stands for the guys. Lisa- the beautiful, shy girl, wanted true love from a guy who didn't give 2 cents worth. Then what is her revenge? To go with a different guy in private and have sex with him, only to regret it? Then the female character going with an older guy in his limo a 2nd time? After knowing he was married and the way she got dissed by him early on- she still went with him this time when he just happens to call one night? I liked what this movie wanted to be and it had the makings of a pretty good film, but the characters contradicted themselves in the end. I liked Dominque Swan and Thora Birch was a bright spot, as weird as her character was. The ending was over the top, cheesy, and unexplainable. (Hint-next line is plot giveaway): If my clothes are caught on something during a fire-I am taking them off and getting the heck out of there. But I guess they had to make somewhat of a tragic ending for the viewer after sitting thru this. Did I waste my $4? Not exactly, as there were some bright moments. Definitely not one to watch again. "Heathers", from 1988, is much better revenge movie handled in a dark way.
