Mermaid
(2000)

Brilliant Movie really worth watching
What a lovely heart warming television movie. The story tells of a little five year old girl who has lost her daddy and finds it impossible to cope. Her mother is also very distressed ..only a miracle can alleviate their unhappiness.Which all viewers hope will materialise. Samantha Mathis is brilliant as the little girl's mum ,as she was as the nanny in" Jack and Sarah",worth watching if you like both Samantha Mathis and happy; year tear jerking movies! Ellen Burstyn is, as, always a delightful grandmother in this tender and magnificently acted movie. Jodelle Ferland (the little five year old) is charming and a most convincing young actress. The film is based on a true story which makes it so touching."Mermaid" is a tribute to the milk of human kindness which is clearly illustrated and clearly is still all around us in this difficult world we live in. "Mermaid" gives us all hope ,by realising that there a lot of lovely people in the world with lot's of love to give. James Robson Glasgow Scotland U.K.

The Business
(2005)

Realistic,Colourful ,and simply "Brilliant" .......What a Movie!!!!
I have seen hundreds of movies .This movie is truly excellent.I lived in London for 38 years and mixed with a variety of people. This movie's characters are so accurate and delightfully life like. The actors exemplify true British talent. The director Nick Love is a genius. His ability to portray the "truth" deserves an Oscar. The settings, storyline and genre are so well matched. Some of the dialogue is abrupt yet so poignant,to London characters. "The Business" has all the ingredients of a very well baked cake with a delightful film "noir." I await yet more of all these actors talents on the big screen in the not too distant future. Do not miss this movie. It is a masterstroke of film talent. Thanks to all the people who created such enjoyment for myself an no doubt anyone else who has seen this movie!

The Horse Whisperer
(1998)

A SPECTACULAR SENSITIVE MOVIE
The Horse Whisperer is undoubtedly one of the fineset movies I have had the privilege to enjoy. The cinema photography is quite stunning and the skill that must have been involved to make the dazzling scenery come to life with such realism is nothing short of photograhic genuis. The acting particularly by the little girl ,is touching and sincere.Kirsten Scott Thomas's performance is "Oscar" worthy.Robert Redford sensitive display of true human emotion is also" Oscar "worthy to my mind. The story is gripping with it's emotional twists and turns and is delightfully portrayed by all in this movie.Anyone who is not moved by this cinematic gem must surely be spiritually devoid of feeling. Well worth watching James A Robson Scotland
