Hurry Om Hurry
(2023)

Hurry to the theatres to watch this masterpiece!
I have watched tons of movies in my 30 odd years so far and this is one of the best pieces of cinema I've come across that shouldn't be missed. If you love drama and good meaningful family entertainers then this is a movie worth watching. Everything from the dialogues, screenplay, storyline, cast is perfect, and its a movie that will leave you feeling good (much needed given the content that comes up these days). I'm looking forward to see more what the director, Nisarg, brings along in the future but this one was too good. I'd rate this as 10/10 - I alongwith my family absolutely loved watching it!!

Game of Thrones: Winterfell
(2019)
Episode 1, Season 8

Disappointed & Underwhelmed to be honest!
Having seen it now as it has been aired, I was left a lot disappointed with the first episode of this final season. Having waited for so long, may be I expected a lot but to be true, I felt a lot underwhelmed after watching the first episode of S8. Hopefully it picks up from now on and we all get to see the level of what GOT has been delivering until now..

Narcos: México
(2018)

Breathtaking!
If you loved Narcos Colombia, then I'd assure you Narcos Mexico would not disappoint!

Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana
(2012)

Slow but sweet..watch it for Huma Qureshi though :)
There's not a lot to say here. The title as I've put it says a lot.

The movie is a bit slow (thats my only critique), but worth a watch especially for those who appreciate watching scenes that depict the vast fields & the culture in a typical Punjabi home (open heart, ability to do 'jugaad', luv shuv {as the title suggests}, and wits amongst family members)...in short the typical life of Punjab (filmy style) - all these have been sweetly depicted in the movie.

Further, the overall direction (as I said..surrounding the Punjabi life as has been shown), the music, the performances (though not awesome but good nonetheless) would serve you quite good. The roles I liked were the ones that brought a smile to my face..1. Huma Qureshi in her traditional attire and performing the role of lovely cute doc was something I looked forward to before entering the movie hall and I was not left disappointed. Her Wasseypur timing of dialogues and expressions are still in place and I believe this actress is sure to go long places if she continues that :) 2. Teetu mama..loved his role..won't go into details but lazyness, food & a good heart were some of the characteristics that defined it! 3. Kunal Kapoor - okay a second critique here but a minor one this time..he could have acted a lot better I felt, but you can ignore that understanding he's out back 10 years living in London in the movie and is not habituated to being a typical Punjabi while several things revolve around his mind. 4. The performances of side characters (dadaji, chachi, chacha, bhai, etc) were also good.

Neways..overall, I would reiterate what the title says - its slow but yes..can be classified as a one-time watch, quite simply, for the simplicity and the sweetness depicted in it :)

Even a laptop watch may NOT be worth it!
To sum it in one word - its way below average. Definitely not worth watching on the big screen. Even on a laptop or so, I would think twice if I'd have not gone early to watch the film and did some prior research before deciding whether to watch the film or not.

The director picks up an important issue, that of Maoists, but fails to deliver on the plot. The issue itself has immense potential and a plot that explores its finer details or even a simpler one focusing on few of its dimensions imo could easily have been built. However, the plot..as it turns out..fails on any of the above aspects. The film greatly disappoints. It may lack depth which chalo is okay, but what is not okay is that it greatly lacks details even in terms of execution around the plot which the director has chosen - (without disclosing much) this revolves around typical love-story drama surrounding the chosen issue which I assume may to please the Indian audience (which the film may not!). Such a film requires performances and one, not one of the performances is even close to what I may term as 'satisfying' or 'decent'! The only positive thing I see is that someone who has never read about the subject may be introduced to the subject and may find the film a little tolerable (if one ignores the love drama which also isn't executed well !!), but if he/she expects even little depth or details on what is being uncovered on the subject, chances are that he/she too may end up being disappointed.

Summing it up, I would give it a 3/10 - the 3 simply for generating some interest on the issue for an average GK person like me to do some further google search on the issue. Else I'd advise people to give it a skip.
