Hancock
(1963)

Fading Hancock, but better than expected
Absolutely delighted to finally get this series on DVD. Picture and sound are fine considering it's 60 years old. Let me say right away it's not as good as the glorious Galton and Simpson years. But..it's better than I'd been led to believe. We sat down with low expectations and found ourselves laughing out loud at several episodes. Flashes of the old Hancock. Sadly the quality of the writing is variable from episode to episode. But there were enough laughs that we will be watching again at some point. Was fun spotting some well known faces in supporting roles. I'd recommend it to any Hancock lovers. A good addition to your collection.

Urban Myths: David Bowie and Marc Bolan
(2018)
Episode 5, Season 2

Good idea - but full of anomalies
Was pleased to see this shining a light on a little known meeting between two future superstars. Was fun and worth watching. However, there were too many little errors. It was summer 1964, yet Bolan mentioned Davy Jones of The Monkees. Not formed for another 2 years. Their manager mentioned The Beatles Eight Days A Week. Not out till that Christmas. Marc was too tall. He was a mod then, but looked like a bank clerk. Overall decent, but the errors spoiled it a bit.

Star Trek: Discovery
(2017)

Quite simply- this is NOT Star Trek
I tried. I really did. I put up with all the annoying crying.I put up with the strange focus on one particular character. I accepted that there will be no positive roles for heterosexual white males(I always thought diversity included everyone) but the 3rd season is just too much. There are no likeable characters. All are annoying in some way. It says nothing positive about the future. It's a woke soap opera without any real focus or underlying intelligence. It's simply NOT Star Trek.
