You'll Find Out
(1940)

A Perfect Movie!
"You'll Find Out" is an absolutely perfect movie: Fantastic cast. Fun, clever story. Great soundtrack. Ish's doggy, Prince, is precious. 100% entertaining! Not a boring scene in the entire movie! One of our family's very favorite movies that we watch a few times a year. Kay and Ish are a delight and naturals as actors and comedians. Helen Parrish and Ginny Simms are wonderful. What a treat to see the silver screen's horror icons - Bela, Boris and Peter - together as the villains! This film is a perfect example of the fun, entertaining, high quality films that were made during the Golden Age of Hollywood! A classic masterpiece of fun and music!

It Had to Be You
(1947)

Cornel Wilde: A Very Underrated Comic and Dramatic Actor!
This wonderful film deserves more than 10 stars! "It Had To Be You" is a perfectly enjoyable movie with a fun story and excellent cast! Ginger Rogers and Cornel Wilde are perfect together! This film is interesting from beginning to end and moves quickly with a big surprise in the last few seconds! A perfect movie for anyone who enjoys a creative, light-hearted, romantic comedy with a superb cast!

Fancy Pants
(1950)

One of the Very Best Comedies Ever Made!
We have been enjoying this classic movie, "Fancy Pants," for years and never tire of it! Bob Hope is an absolute riot! Almost every single line by Bob Hope (the fake Humphrey the butler) is quotable and hilarious! We would love to list our favorite "Humphrey"/Bob lines here but there are too many to list! This is our favorite Lucille Ball movie (besides "The Long, Long Trailer") and one of our very, very favorite Bob Hope movies (besides "The Lemon Drop Kid" and "The Princess and The Pirate"). Many movies have forgettable soundtracks but the three songs in this movie are memorable, clever, fun, get your feet tapping and put a smile on your face! We cannot find one fault in this entire movie (except we sincerely hope all the animals were treated humanely during filming). If you've had a bad day, this movie will definitely put a smile on your face and give you plenty of belly laughs! This film deserves 20 stars!

Don Verdean
(2015)

Hilarious, Clever, Unique, Refreshing!
What a great movie! "Don Verdean" is the type of movie we need more of these days! Great actors, great plot, hilarious lines, very interesting subject matter! This movie did not have a dull moment. All of the actors are perfect. The script is perfect. We enjoyed every minute of this movie. We will definitely watch it again. Sam Rockwell is great in every movie. What a multi-talented actor. When watching him as Don Verdean, it's difficult to believe he is the same actor in "Seven Psychopaths" (another great movie). This film shows how easy it is to fool people who want to believe so desperately in something. Thanks, Netflix, for adding this gem to your lineup! A++++++++!

Still Game
(2002)

Hilarious Show!
We just "discovered" this show on NetFlix two weeks ago and we are addicted to it! We have watched all the episodes on NetFlix and are watching them all again already. (Thank goodness for the subtitles because some of the slang we can't understand, haha.) Great actors, clever scripts, so funny! We just LOVE Victor, Jack and Winston!! This show is unique because it's funny and has genuine "heart". The cast is top notch and we truly care about them so when Jack is missing his wife or Jack and Victor go to visit Winston in his awful new apartment out of town, the viewers really care about these characters in their sad situations (this proves what great actors they are). There are too many great episodes to pick a favorite! So many lines from this hilarious TV series have crept into our every day language, like "cheery-bye" (haha). We love how they make reference to many famous American entertainers that we love (like Perry Como, Jack Lord, "Quincy," Abbott & Costello, etc.) We are so excited to hear that they are filming a new season this summer although we don't know how long it will be until American viewers can see them. Unfortunately, we can't find the series on Region 1 or 0 even though we would love to own them on DVD. We love, love, love "Still Game"! Thanks, NetFlix, for bringing this amazingly clever, creative, fun, unique show to American viewers! (This show is funnier than any new American TV shows/movies!)

The Martin Short Show
(1999)

The Funniest Talk Show of All Time!! (Sorry, Johnny, Dave, Jay, Jimmy)
We have never enjoyed any talk show like we enjoyed Martin Short's show! We laughed until we cried at his hilarious skits - like those featuring Jiminy Glick or the dramatic high school spoof, "Herbert Hoover High"! We are still quoting lines from Marty's 1999-2000 talk show! There is no one on Earth as funny as Martin Short. Period. There are very, very few comic actors that make us cry from laughing - but Martin Short does that to us all the time! (His hysterical movie, "Clifford," makes us cry with laughter every time we watch it!) Marty's talk show was so memorable: Who could forget Jiminy Glick's diet pill commercial, "Sliminies," or the drunk teacher on "Herbert Hoover High" who was based on Henry Jones' character, "LeRoy" in the 1956 film, "The Bad Seed"! Or Marty playing both empty-headed "Stefan" and emotionally tortured "Sheldon" on "Herbert Hoover High"? Talented Mark McGrath and Mary Sheer added the icing to the cake of this show! (What a cast!) Marty's talk show received 2 Emmys and many nominations and deserved to last forever but, apparently, the 2,000 Nielsen viewers that control TV would rather watch less creative, mundane, boring, gossipy shows like "The View." Martin Short is a comic genius and we miss him on TV!!

Christmas Trade
(2015)

Hilarious, Heartwarming, Family Holiday Fun!
We rented this movie not knowing much about it but we absolutely loved it! All of the actors are excellent and, when Dad and son swap bodies, every second is so enjoyable! We laughed and laughed! This is the type of family holiday movie that should become an annual event on TV, like "It's A Wonderful Life". The world needs more clever, fun, enjoyable, family-oriented movies! There are tender, heart-warming, tear-jerking moments, too, which proves how awesome the actors are, esp. William Baldwin and Michael Campion. (This movie is not corny at all.) We highly recommend this movie to anyone who has a sense of humor and loves fun holiday movies! Great family fun! P.S. Extra Bonus: Tom Arnold! We have seen him in so many films and thoroughly enjoy his characters! He is very talented, very funny, very underrated!

Click
(2006)

A Gem by Adam Sandler!
This is one of our very fave Adam Sandler movies. First of all, he is an over-worked man who desperately needs a pay increase and some time off to enjoy time with his family! (Who can't relate to that these days?) Secondly, Adam Sandler proves he is an amazing actor, experiencing all the highs and lows of life. Adam makes acting look easy (like Jackie Gleason, Adam West, Jack Klugman) so his talents are taken for granted by some people in society and he is very underrated. Adam belongs in the group of truly great actors who can make you laugh one second and cry the following second (like Jackie G., Adam W., Jack K.). We cannot say enough good about this film. "Click" is truly an excellent, amazing, entertaining, fantastic film! A lot of deep, profound thought went into writing and directing this film. This film belongs in the same category as "It's A Wonderful Life." We love it!

Jack and Jill
(2011)

Fun Comedy!
We have seen this movie more than once and thoroughly enjoy it! The world desperately needs good comedies and this is definitely what the world needs! Adam is absolutely hilarious as "Jill" (his twin) and Al Pacino is great as the love-struck suitor of "Jill"! (Al Pacino's Dunkin' Donuts commercial/jingle is beyond hilarious!) At times, you'll feel sorry for "Jill" and, other times, she drives you nuts! Adam Sandler truly understands human comedy regarding the highs and lows, the happiness and sadness that all great comedians experience in their films (like Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Jerry Lewis, Jackie Gleason). The children in the movie are great and enjoyable! Nick Swardson is so funny as Adam's employee! This is a good, fun, enjoyable comedy that we will definitely watch again!

Lotsa Luck!
(1973)

Hilarious! Amazing Cast!
We bought this DVD set last year and have thoroughly enjoyed watching the entire set more than once. The entire cast is excellent and top notch! We absolutely love Dom DeLuise, Beverly Sanders, and Jack Knight! The plots are great! If you love great comedy and clever one- liners, you will find this series timeless (there are so many lines we quote from this series in our daily lives). Dom (Stanley) and Jack (Bummy) have an amazing camaraderie (like Ralph Kramden & Ed Norton, Gilligan & Skipper) Beverly Sanders is outstandingly funny and naive! The only negative aspect of this series is that it was canceled after one season. (The handful of Nielsen families messed up yet again.) If you love great comedy (like "The Honeymoooners") and are sick of the awful faux reality shows that air on every channel 24/7 these days, check out "Lotsa Luck"! You'll be glad you did! We will continue to enjoy this series again and again!

The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet
(2013)

Simply Sick and Tired of Animal Abuse/Killing/Cruelty Depicted in Films
We rent a lot of movies locally and we rented this movie with high hopes. We have enjoyed many movies with young children as the stars/co- stars (such as "Hugo," "Nim's Island," "What We Did on Our Holiday" and "Mr. Holmes"). Although we enjoyed Kyle Catlett's performance, before 30 minutes were passed, we stopped the movie, and returned it to the video store for a refund. We have spent our lives helping people and animals in peril. We are simply sick and tired of animals being depicted in movies in cruel or neglectful or abusive ways. People think "cowboys" are cool. Well, cowboys, like the father in this movie, was callous and cruel when one of their goats was in pain. We don't need to see idiot human characters with hearts of stone/no compassion and a room full of poor stuffed animal heads (very un-cool). What's cool is Chuck Connors in "The Rifleman" - a character who cared about humane treatment of people and animals.

The Three Stooges
(2012)

Amazing Tribute to the Legendary Stooges!
We went to see this movie on opening night and thoroughly enjoyed it! Will, Chris, and Sean do an excellent job, playing tribute to our beloved Stooges! They are a riot and we loved all the scenes that featured them! We sure wish Leslie Nielsen was alive to take part in a film like this - he would love it and fit like a glove into this fun comedy! "Modern" people like Larry David, Jennifer Hudson, and the Jersey Shore actors don't "fit" into the classic Stooges hijinx (although we loved Moe's treatment to the Jersey Shore faux "reality stars"). We just heard a second Stooges movie is in the works and we cannot wait - thankfully, Will, Chris, and Sean will be reprising their roles! Yay!

The Cobbler
(2014)

Wow! Excellent Story & Film!
We rented this DVD and thoroughly enjoyed every second of the creative film! There isn't a dull moment in this movie! (Excellent editing!) The story is so different and fresh and seeing the Cobbler's realistic, uninspiring drudge of every day work life change for the better is awesome. (In real life, most people find their work life dull and uninspiring but can't admit it because we're all "supposed" to be so "fulfilled" by our jobs these days.) Adam Sandler is a very believable serious actor (some people don't appreciate his acting skills because he makes it look too easy). The entire cast was great in this film (although we have never heard of "Method Man"). There are many scary, suspenseful moments for the Cobbler, where you worry that he will not get out of trouble alive (such creative writing!) The only thing we wish would have been written into the script is that the Cobbler's Mom should have told him for years about "visits" from her long-lost husband, then her son/the Cobbler would patronize her (thinking she was experiencing dementia) when, actually, her husband was indeed visiting her! Her husband loved her so much, he would have found a way to visit her. This film is worth seeing again because the story is so interesting. Would love to see Adam Sandler do "Cobbler 2"! How awesome it would be to have the Cobbler's opportunity to help every day people greatly improve their lives - anonymously! Great film!

P.S. This would be a great movie to be watched and discussed in a Sociology class. Discussion questions: Who would you help, if you were the Cobbler? Would you use this unique power for financial gain? Would you seek revenge/become a vigilante against criminals or people who have wronged you? Would you try to help underdogs in society? Many thought-provoking questions!

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian
(2009)

Fave Museum Film!
This is the funniest "Night at the Museum" film of the trilogy! Hank Azaria, Amy Adams, and Christopher Guest are absolutely hilarious! We rented this DVD, practically died laughing, then had to buy the DVD and have watched it many, many times and it never fails to entertain from beginning to end. One of the best scenes is when Ben Stiller (Larry) and Amy Adams (Amelia) jump into the famous "kissing" photo from V-E Day in NYC! Hank Azaria's Boris Karloff impersonation is a riot! (He has too many hilarious lines to make reference to here!) We have enjoyed all 3 of the Museum Trilogy films but this, by far, is the funniest! There isn't a dull scene in the movie! Highly recommend Museum #2 to anyone who loves great comedies - and Boris Karloff!

Kidnapping Mr. Heineken
(2015)

Excellent, Suspenseful Film!
We just rented this DVD and thoroughly enjoyed the film. The cast is excellent (of course, Sir Anthony Hopkins never disappoints in any role he has played) and the movie will keep you on the edge of your seat, especially if you're not familiar with the Heineken kidnapping, which is a true story. (It's amazing that anyone actually had the guts to attempt such a kidnapping!) After watching a movie that is a true event, we often read the facts on Wikipedia or other news sites and this film stays accurate to the truth (which we love). Highly recommend this film to anyone who wants to enjoy a suspenseful, true story! Outstanding job done by the director, cast, set directors, etc.!

Hit by Lightning
(2014)

Hilarious, Hilarious, Hilarious!
We just rented this DVD, now we are going to have to buy it to rewatch again and again. This movie is hilarious from beginning to end! Jon Cryer and Will Sasso are absolutely hilarious. (Will Sasso is like David Koechner - you love every character he plays!) This film is as funny as 2 "modern" classic comedies "Rock Slyde" and "No Clue". Great cast, story, editing. Not a dull moment! Although it's a comedy, it has a mystery weaved into the story and that part will leave you on the edge of your seat! Highly recommend this movie to anyone who loves comedy and loves to laugh! Would love to see Jon and Will teamed up again!

Freak Dance
(2010)

Absolutely Hilarious!
We rented this DVD a few years ago, then had to buy it, and, it's so funny that we have rewatched it several times. Our favorite part of the movie is Matt Besser's song, which is an absolute riot! (He is so funny in "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story" too!) The dancer called "Asteroid" (Hal Rudnick) is an absolute riot! The entire cast is great! We like "certain" musicals (older ones like "On The Town" and "Wizard of Oz") but we cannot get into all the modern "serious" musicals on stage and in films/TV shows, and "Freak Dance" spoofs all the overly-dramatic, sing-about-anything, corny, clique moments in modern serious musicals aimed at teens! We would recommend this movie to anyone who has a great sense of humor! We need subtitles during the end of the movie at the hilarious dance-off competition because we are always laughing too hard to hear the M.C.'s narration of the outrageous, crazy dances! (The only thing we didn't like in this movie is the slaughter house scene. We are tired of movies about killing animals in every aspect of life (roadkill, hunting, torture, revenge, abuse, etc). We don't find that funny at all, just depressing and cruel. We've spent our lives trying to help animals.)

The Last of Robin Hood
(2013)

Wow! Excellent Film!
We rented this DVD yesterday and enjoyed it thoroughly, thanks to the amazing cast, director, writers, editors, and everyone involved in recreating the awesome 1950s retro "look" of the film (super-cool furniture, cars, wardrobe, make-up, etc.) We love truthful biopics on Hollywood's greatest actors and this film stayed true to the real story, which was absolutely fascinating. The movie moves so quickly that there is not one boring second in the entire film! Kevin Kline, Susan Sarandon, Dakota Fanning should all get Oscars for their amazing performances. (Would love to see Susan Sarandon play Bette Davis in a biopic.) I think the real Beverly Aadland would be proud to see how her story was presented on film (she stayed dedicated and completely in love with Errol Flynn through her whole life). Highly recommend this film to anyone who loves the actors from The Golden Age of Hollywood. "The Last of Robin Hood" deserves way more than 10 stars! We need more amazing films like this!

Mama's Boy
(2007)

Jon Heder's Funniest Movie Ever!
"Mama's Boy" is hilarious from the get go! We rented it, practically died laughing, then had to buy it and have watched it many times - it's one of the best comedies of the past 10 years. Everyone is great in this film - Jon Heder, Diane Keaton, Jeff Daniels, Anna Faris, Eli Wallach. It's so great to see Jeff Daniels in a comedy (besides the classic "Dumb and Dumber" & "D&D2"). The friction and competitiveness between Jon and Jeff is a riot! Their scenes are the absolute best! Jon Heder's dialogue (and word usage) is beyond hilarious! Wish Hollywood made more great movies like this! This film deserves way more than 10 stars!

Dying of the Light
(2014)

Great Movie!
"Seeking Justice" and "Dying To The Light" are our two favorite Nicolas Cage movies of the past few years. "Dying To The Light" was interesting, fascinating, easy to understand, and had great editing and locations. Anyone who has dealt with a loved one with any type of dementia can easily relate to the gut-wrenching, heartbreaking medical issue in this film. We would recommend this movie to anyone who enjoys a good drama. We rent every movie Nicolas Cage makes and have enjoyed all of them because he is a great, underrated, totally believable actor in every film. He is the best actor making movies currently in Hollywood. He can play absolutely any part and be convincing. He makes acting look too easy and that's why he is taken for granted by many people. He does not act "cutesy" or "corny" and is not afraid to play any part. And we love Nic's American patriotism in his movies! (Would love to see Nicolas Cage play Jimmy Stewart in a biopic - he has his voice and stature and could be made up to look just like him.) We are looking forward to seeing all his upcoming projects, including "National Treasure 3"!

Seeking Justice
(2011)

One of Nicolas Cage's Best Movies Ever!
"Seeking Justice" and "Dying To The Light" are our two favorite Nicolas Cage movies of the past few years. "Seeking Justice" is exciting, thrilling, and keeps you on the edge of your seat! We recommend this movie to everyone who enjoys a fast-moving, nail-biting film! (Would love to see Nicolas Cage play Jimmy Stewart in a biopic - he has his stature and voice and could be made up to look just like him.) We are looking forward to seeing all his upcoming projects!

Lady Killers
(2003)

Most Hilarious National Lampoon Film Ever!!!
We just saw this movie and laughed and laughed and laughed from the very beginning 'til the very end! This is absolutely the funniest National Lampoon movie ever! Not only is the film's premise hilarious, but the dialogue (esp. between Chris Owen and Will Friedle) is absolutely a riot! This film isn't crude or gross like so many films today - it relies on real comedic situations for huge laughs! Louise Lasser and Renee Taylor were excellent, too! (BTW, the old, scratchy silent movie the ladies show the young men in their mansion's theater room is beyond hysterical!) The editing is perfect - not a dull moment in this movie! We are definitely buying this DVD!

Give My Regards to Broad Street
(1984)

A Perfect Movie and a Timeless Masterpiece!
Sir Paul McCartney is an under-appreciated musical genius. "Give My Regards To Broad Street" is an under-appreciated masterpiece! (The title song and upbeat reprise at the end are too freakin' awesome!) We've seen it many, many times and it never fails to entertain from beginning to end (never a dull moment - great editing). First, of all, the soundtrack is beyond amazing! Every song is sublime! Every scene featuring one of Paul's songs is thoroughly enjoyable and so creative, like a super-cool, high-quality music video. (Even the background instrumental music is amazing!) Second, the story line is imaginative, dream-like, original, artistic, fantastic -and- fun! So many great scenes - like Paul and friends in Old London (amazing, dazzling, magical, beautiful cinematography). Of course, we love The Beatles, and "Broad Street" is as great as any of The Beatles' films. The only negative aspect about this movie is that we wish it was longer! "Give My Regards To Broad Street" is high-quality entertainment for anyone (you don't have to be a Beatles' fan to enjoy it). Sir Paul proves once again why he reigns as the world's most successful musician/songwriter/artist!

Bewitched
(2005)

One of the BEST films ever made! Deserves higher rating than 10!
What makes this movie so wonderful and exceptional is that it is not a typical attempt at a remake of a classic hit TV series - in this film, the characters are actors making a "Bewitched" remake! Very clever! Will Farrell plays Jack, an egotistical actor, desperate to have a hit after his latest movies flopped. (Nora and Dela Ephron deserve a ton of credit for this creative storyline - it's the most clever remake of a hit TV show ever!) Shirley MacLaine is hilarious as Endora! Nicole Kidman is wonderful, believably naive and sweet, suddenly thrown into the harsh reality of Hollywood. Steve Carrell as Uncle Arthur is utterly hilarious and one of the greatest highlights of this excellent movie! Carole Shelley as Aunt Clara is a delight! Kristen Chenowith is awesomely funny (and adorable)! Heather Burns is fantastic! Nicole, Kristen, and Heather have a great chemistry as friends and their scenes together are so enjoyable. We love every second of this film! We have seen it about 15 times and always find it fresh, clever, charming, and oh-so-funny! This will always be our favorite Will Ferrell movie and our favorite Nicole Kidman movie. The scene where Isabelle (Nicole) and Jack (Will) are dancing during Steve Lawrence's smooth rendition of the hit song, "Bewitched," is wonderfully romantic and fun. This film should receive more than 10 stars!! P.S. If you are a die-hard classic TV Bewitched fan, watch it with an open mind: Will Farrell is not Darren - he is Jack, an actor hired to play Darren in a "retooled" remake of "Bewitched". Nicole Kidman is Isabelle, a new actress hired to play Samantha. This film pays perfect homage and respect to the original classic TV show. Everyone should be able to enjoy and appreciate this ultra-clever, very funny, very quote-able, often hilarious, endlessly creative, absolutely amazing, surprisingly sincere and romantic, sweet film. (Wish Hollywood could make more funny, sweet, sincere, romantic movies like this!)

No Clue
(2013)

Absolutely hilarious!
We did not know what to expect when we rented this film last year. I'm sad and embarrassed to say that, at that time, we were not familiar with actor Brent Butt but we immediately loved him in this film! We enjoyed every second of this comedy! Brent is hilarious as the unassuming salesman accidentally thrown into the life of a P.I. David Koechner is hilarious in every movie - and a real treat as Brent's crazy best friend. After we rented this movie and enjoyed it so much, we had to buy the DVD, and we've watched it twice since then. A good comedy like this can be watched again and again. There are too many hilarious moments to even comment on. The editing is perfect and the movie moves so fast - never a dull moment! The clever writing/dialogue and Brent's narration during his detective work is hilarious! The entire cast is absolutely perfect! This film will not disappoint! The world needs more comedies like this! Enjoy! P.S. Please make a sequel, Brent!
