The People We Hate at the Wedding
(2022)

Basically an R-rated Hallmark movie
If you like to watch a dysfunctional family continue to mess up their lives, only to have everything come to a blissfully happy ending, this movie is for you. If you like to get annoyed at ridiculously self-centered people doing stupid things, this movie is for you.

I managed to get through it, watching in several installments, because I like Allison Janney. It was tough going, though. The hard to believe ending was beyond belief, saccharin. "Dennis" seemed to have a lot going for him, and it was hard to believe that he was so hard up that he was willing so be sucked into the family by the loser adulteress.

My Dead Dad
(2021)

I was afraid it was just me, then I read what others have said
I honestly tried my best to give this a chance, but it's another one that I'd give to someone I was mad at. Perhaps it picked up after I was bored to sleep, but I'll never know. I'm an old man with only so much time left and I think it would be more exciting to cut an apple in half and watch it turn brown. Or, fill an aluminum piepan with water and watch it evaporate!

My Name Is Sam
(2020)

The preview was enough for me.
Anyone who knows any REAL Amish people will see the glaring, external representation. I can understand that Hollywood wouldn't force their actresses to not pluck their eyebrows. But, a women in a strict Amish group would not have hair hanging down around her face.

In addition, in what looks like a church setting, men and women are sitting together. Nope! That would not happen,.

It could have been worse - they could have addressed each other as "Thee" and "Thou", which has been done in other movies about Amish.

Midnight Mass
(2021)

Gotta' agree with others
It had potential, but failed miserably in reaching it. I was able to get through the first episode and part of the second episode, but . . . I might continue to watch it, at night, as something to which I can fall asleep. It brings to mind term paper assignments where the writer must reach a certain number of words, rather than writing something concise that doesn't waste time.

Upper Middle Bogan
(2013)

Acorn sure is showing some bad shows, and this is one of them!
I was able to work through 1 and 1/2 episodes. For supposedly being a doctor, Bess Denyar is incredibly stupid. The obvious different socio/economic classes between how she was raised, and what she's used to, as opposed to her birth family, seems to not register with her. The lack of clear communication between her and her birth family is ridiculous. Are people REALLY so lacking in communication skills?

Finding Alice
(2021)

I'd rather go to the dentist than watch any more of this!
After forcing myself to sit through the first and part of the second episode, I thought to look up what others are saying about this. I was relieved to see that I am not alone in my take. I feel much the same way, about this, as I felt about "Dead Still" - it strikes me as an attempt on the part of the writers and producers, to provide "make busy work" for actors who need an income. If someone gave the a DVD set of the show, I'd save it to give to someone I disliked.

Best Day Ever
(2014)

If someone would give me a DVD of this movie
I'd save it to give to someone I was mad at! I have to guess that the people who give it 10's are either friends of the actors or friends of the director.

Horrible Histories
(2009)

First season started good, but . . .
This is NOT a good show to marathon watch. While I've learned a lot from it, too much time gets wasted on things like the introduction and ending of "Horrible Deaths". As seasons progress, it seems like more song and dance routines start taking over, much like in Indian films - yech! Once I spent more time fast-forwarding past the routines I didn't care for, it was time to stop watching. One thing GOOD about the show - it exposed me to Mathew Baynton!

Dead Still
(2020)

Couldn't force myself to finish it
I was able to watch the first two episodes the whole way through. After those, I had to watch in small doses. I couldn't bring myself to finish the last episodes. I'm guessing the entire purpose of this series was to give the producer's actor friends some work.

Love Wedding Repeat
(2020)

I'd rather go to the dentist than have to continue watching this!
I tried. I really, truly, honestly tried. The only way I'd recommend someone watch this would be if I was mad at them! If the characters, in this movie, ran a business, it would be bankrupt within a week!

The Worst Week of My Life
(2004)

If someone forced me to watch the entire series, THAT would be the worst week in MY life !!!!
Acorn TV is currently running this (January 2019). I thought I'd give it a try. The main character is a wimpy liar who's engaged to a woman from a dysfunctional family. I forced myself to get as far as fifteen minutes into the second episode, but my blood pressure couldn't take any more of the trite, predictable interactions. Whomever, at Acorn, added this to their lineup should be fired!

Somebody Feed Phil
(2018)

This was painful to try to watch
It took a LOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGG time to say a little. Perhaps, had it been condensed to a fifteen minute show it would have been more bearable. Honestly, if I'm on my deathbed, being forced to watch this, I'd pray for a quick death!

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
(2015)

I agree with others - Second Best is a descriptive title.
The original was good. The "Second Best" - forget it. Too much time wasted in Bollywood dance scenes. Sonny putting up with Sunaina's antics was disgusting. Her prima-donna, shove my ex-boyfriend in my future husband's face, attitude is something no one entering marriage should have to put up with. Of course, I'm old fashioned about marriage, believing that couples should always strive to support and build each other up.
