Ski Patrol
(1990)

Won't win an Oscar, but it's fun to watch
If you prefer movies that make you think and challenge your mind and opinions in ways you didn't think possible, stay away from this movie. If you like movies that are filled with political incorrectness and mindless fun, have at it.

This movie was made in a more innocent time when people could make a movie without worrying if someone would complain about being politically incorrect. The same time when most of my favorite movies were made. For some who are concerned about this type of thing, there are times when they poke fun at characters for different things (for example one of them being bothered by being short) but it's more of good natured teasing than spiteful attacks.

One of the most memorable characters would have to be an individual by the name of suicide who has a few screws loose and does some outlandish things while trying to feel a rush.

I saw this movie for the first time when I was 19, and it's remained one of my favorites of all time. Not because it has in in depth and compelling story, because it doesn't. It was made during a time when a movie could be about next to nothing and still be good. For example, Breakfast Club was about 5 kids in detention. This movie is good, light hearted fun that I can watch again and again.

The Crow: City of Angels
(1996)

Good movie, bad ending
I personally think that this was a great movie. What most people don't realize is that this isn't a sequel. A sequel has the same characters as the one before it, and this one does not. The only character from the first one is Sarah.

As far as the performance of Vincent Perez, I think he did a wonderful job. Take into consideration that he tried as hard as he could to be totally unlike Brandon Lee with his representation and presentation of the Crow character. Many people say that it was a bad movie, or that it was a terrible sequel. All I have to say to that is that it isn't a sequel. It is a completely new story with only the same very basic plot.

City of Angels was also much darker than the first one. Ashe was portrayed as being insane, which was done very well, especially in the scenes with Spider Monkey (the first person he kills) and Kali (the third person he killed).

As far as the ending goes, I have seen very few endings that were as bad as this one. Yeah, it was cool how Ashe quoted Judah by saying "Pain is my power." but aside from that, it was a total let down. Crows fly through Ash and Judah, and then Judah vanishes. I saw that and just sat there thinking "What the hell was that?"

The Crow
(1994)

Great movie
In my opinion, The Crow is the greatest movie of all time. Brandon Lee's death had absolutely nothing to do with it, although it was a tragedy. That movie contained everything. Action, suspense, romance, horror, sci fi. It could literally fit into any category (accept for maybe porno). The diverse cast helped a lot showing that any one can be a bad guy. If you look at it, the character of Eric Draven is everybody. He's just your average Joe Shmoe who was scraping to make a living. There wasn't anything special about him until after he died. While Crow movies after this one may have had better special affects, or been less family friendly, there was a magic that these people brought to this movie that will never be recreated. Brandon Lee's death did not sell this movie, a story that everyone could relate to did.
