Resident Evil: Afterlife
(2010)

They should have stopped after the 3th movie
First of all, I am a fan of the first 3 movies but this one is just bad.

I don't want to wast to much time on this review, so I'm just going to put all the arguments why you shouldn't watch this movie in order.

1. The special effects are worse then ever.

2. The acting is surely not as good as in the previous movies.

3. The storyline is becoming crap.

4. The last action scene is like a cheap rip-off of The Matrix.

5. Icould go on but I already wrote too much on this peace of garbage.

My advice: don't waste your time!

Game of Thrones
(2011)

Why do people always compare series with books?
My title says it all. Why do people compare series or movies with the books? Series or a movie can NEVER be as good as a book! I almost never read books but when you read a book you use your imagination and your imagination is ALWAYS better then seeing series. Just to say that the comparison is pure rubbish. You can compare series to series, movies to movies and books to books but not compare a series to a movie or a book to movie, etc.. Some of the critics here say that the cast is bad. I dare people to make a better cast for this show, especially Peter Dinklage as Tyrion Lannister is superb.

I never read the books and I think Game of Thrones is awesome. Maybe it's because I never read the books, maybe it's because it's just a brilliant show. But only for the opening credits you can give this show a point or 2 extra. I say this without any doubt in my mind that that is the best opening of a show ever made.

For the people who compare this to LOTR. Yes, it's a bit of the same scenery with the knights and the fortresses but except for that they has no similarities. LOTR is mostly known for their epic battles were Game of thrones is more about honor, love, betrayal,... . And as I said movies can't be compared with series. This is a perfect example. In series it's much more about character building with lot's of characters were movies focus more on one character or like in LOTR they focus more on the mission of destroying the ring and the story around that. You can say that the ring is the main character in those movies. Game of thrones has lot's of main characters (The Lannisters, The Starks, Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow, Theon Greyjoy, etc.).

What I think about this show is that it's the second best series I've ever watched (except from breaking bad). If you like a well written, well acted fantasy series with lot's of drama, action and humor you should watch this show. You WILL like it !

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
(2005)

The only thing remotely good in this show is Danny DeVito!
Like my title says, the only good thing in this show is Danny DeVito and even he wasn't that good (in this show). If you make a show with him in it and still make it almost the worst sitcom on television, then you're doing something wrong. The script of this show is just so bad.

But the script is not the worst thing about this show, that's the acting.Danny DeVito is good for a few laughs, but the rest of the cast isn't.

->Let's start with Charly Day, the most overrated actor of the century. The only thing that guy does is get on my nerves with his overacting and hyperactive behavior. I don't understand how anyone can think that guy is funny. It's like being in the loudest part of a psychiatric hospital and i don't consider being there as funny.

->Then you have Glenn Howerton and Kaitlin Olson. They are both equally bad. They're also quite invisible in this show, so there's not too much to say about them.

->And then you have the 'mastermind' of this show Rob McElhenney. I have to say, maybe in another show and just as an actor maybe he can be funny ,but in this bad written show (by himself) he's just not good.

I first watched 5 seasons of this show because I thought it would be as good as IMDb-reviewers made it out to be, but I was so disappointed that I almost want to cry. Every episode I hoped it would maybe grow and be better, but almost every episode was a big letdown. So don't let all these good reviews misguide you, it'll probably disappoint you as well.

Lost
(2004)

Entertaining but the show 'Lost' my interest after a while.
I wanted to watch Lost after I read about it in a magazine and made it look like it was THE show of the century. Let's say it is a very good and entertaining show but there are lots of better shows. Everybody who likes a fantasy show with some humor, action and adventure can like this show, but just like a lot of people I know, this show had lost my interest after a while.

At first it was fresh, entertaining and much fun to watch. The plane that crashes on the island and discovering who everyone is. One of the better parts of this show are the flashbacks. You come to know a lot about each character so you can better understand them and what they're doing. After a while they discover the island and all of his secrets.

The problem I have with this show is that it became plot after plot after plot and some things don't even get solved. It became too much after a while and the ending was just too predictable.

Most people I know only watched till season 2, maybe 3 but I wanted to watch the whole show, just to see what would happen. After a while it became a little boring for me too and the last season was rather bad. But overall this show was pretty good and deserves a 7/10. It starts of amazingly good, I even bought the first season because it's so good, but it became less good with every season.

Breaking Bad
(2008)

Couldn't keep my eyes of the screen!
First of all, I don't think people should compare this series with series like The Wire or The Sopranos. I've seen for example The Wire too but the only thing it has in common that it's about drugs. It's just like comparing apples with pears (a phrase we use in Belgium if people compare things that are nothing alike). The only thing you can say if you mention those two series is that their complementary. Were The Wire fixates more on the distribution, the police work and those things Breaking bad fixates more on the production of the matter. Where The Wire has no specific main character(s), Breaking Bad fixates on 2 main characters Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.

Now enough with the comparison, I think I've made my point. Breaking bad is one of the best shows I've ever seen. Great acting by all of the cast. It's no wonder that Bryan Cranston has been nominated for the golden globe for best actor the last 3 years. He should have won it already! Also Aaron Paul is amazing and one of the best supporting actors in a show.

Breaking bad started of mind blowing! Just the pilot alone was maybe the best pilot I've ever seen. I think there are a lot of people who can agree with me on that. Just the concept was a lot of fun. The chemistry teacher who wants to make crystal meth just to make his life a little more exciting.

After season one where Walter White is just starting up in his caravan it become's even more fun with the calm but fearless Gustavo Fring. For me, the most memorable scene from this series is the moment he comes out of Tio Salamanca's room with the right side of his face blown off. When he walks out with his usual look, straighten his jacket and just falls down. Really great scene. Just so i don't forget: Also an amazing acting performance from Giancarlo Esposito all the way.

I look forward to the last part of season 5 but i can't imagine that it would be disappointing. Just to end a last comparison with The Wire. I have to say I like them both very much, but I still find Breaking Bad to be better!

Royal Pains
(2009)

Amazing visuals!
I've began to watch this show because i liked the concept. A doctor who makes house calls in The Hamptons. I liked it from the beginning and et has a good story. On the other hand it's just not my kind of thing but it's just interesting enough to keep my attention. Mark Feuerstein and Paulo Costanzo are a very good acting duo and the acting overall is very very good. So overall i have to say acting is very good and the story is just average => 6/10

But the reason i like this show the most is just because the visualization of the show is incredible so great props to the cameramen. It's just the way they always make such beautiful pictures, wow just wow! It's very well directed and filmed like no other show i ever saw before. Just a joy to watch => 10/10

So if I count those two scores I get and 8/10 and that's a good score to project how good this show is. I don't say it's a must watch, but it's worth a try.

Dexter
(2006)

I don't know how anyone can think this show is bad.
I have seen the whole show now and I think it's amazing. So when i discovered there were even bad reviews i couldn't believe what i saw. Did they even watched the same show I did? And I read something about Dexter being a sociopath, that's also just completely rubbish. For people who only watched the first season or just a couple of episodes of that season might think that but if you watch the whole show then you would know that isn't true at all or otherwise you don't know what the word sociopath means. He's a psychopath but if anyone saw his/her mother get murdered in front of him/her then i think that some other people would completely snap too. And for people who complain every time there is some violence in a show, just don't watch crime series. And it's just a show, it's not reality, so don't even start by saying that it says something about a person if they like this show.

Anyway, back to "Dexter". I think this is a show that has a great concept that has never been used before. That's probably one of the reasons that this show made it to be so big. An other reason is that Michael C. Hall is a one of the best actors in the world, and he's also the perfect man to play Dexter Morgan. It's also a lot different from a lot of other crime series and that's a very good thing. Things like CSI or NCIS are complete garbage if you ask me. But Dexter is the opposite. It's inventive, has a great story, has also some funny moments and it's just not always the same thing like the most other crime series.

I have to say i liked season 1,2 and 7 the most. Season 1 was just the best with Dexter's brother as the Ice-Truck Killer and season 2 with sergeant Doakes constantly on his ass. Season 7 i just liked because there are so much aspects in this season that make it good. First you have the Ukrainian mob, then you have the poisoner Hannah McKay who falls in love with Dexter and then you have also LaGuerta who still investigates the Bay Harbor Butcher case. It has enough ingredients to make it one of the best seasons of Dexter.

So if you want to see a show that is interesting, innovative, funny and smart, you have to see this show!

And if you don't like any violence in a show or just crime series , then just don't see them and don't review them. If it would be a bad show, then it deserves to have bad reviews, but this show deserves none.

How I Met Your Mother
(2005)

The brilliance of this show has faded.
It used to be the favorite show I have ever saw. And the first 6 seasons still are and i can watch those over and over again and never stop laughing. The brilliant quotes of Barney, Ted hopelessly falling in love, Marshall's stupidity together with Lily and then you have Robin, who also had some superb moments. Then it was just the 5 of them mostly sitting in the bar having hilarious adventures. I remember when i first watched the whole show i just wanted to watch the whole thing again and so i did. When i think about it now i almost want to skip season 7 and 8. There are still some very good episodes but it's just not as funny as it used to be.

I'm not going to give this show 1 star because the last 2 seasons were less good and i don't understand anyone who does. It's not because 1 or maybe 2 seasons are less good, that instantly the whole show is bad. This show is still very good and even more then very good in the first couple of seasons and it's true that it has weakened, but give it 1 star just for that is just not a trustworthy rating.

The biggest problem i have with the last 2 seasons is that Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) has lost his touch in the show. For a lot of people he's the biggest reason they watch this show. He's still a brilliant actor but "no one" wants him to be in love on this show. He was the player of the bunch and that's just how it's supposed to be. I also think Ted is also not as funny as he was and the same counts for Lily. For me the only constantly good character is Marshall (Jason Segel).

But it's a very good sitcom and the most awesome scenes I have ever watched are in this show. The car scene with Barney and Ted is just the best scene ever! I've never laughed that hard in my life. I think How i met your mother is a must watch for everyone who likes comedy. It's an iconic show and still one of the best there is!

Heroes
(2006)

Not brilliant, but far above average!
Like some other people also said, the first season was great, season 2 & 3 a little less and season 4 i think was also pretty good. That's why i give this show a 7/10.

You can think, it's just some futuristic crap with people that have like Dragonball z-like powers, but it's much better then just that. It has a well written story behind it with the usual battle between good and evil. In the first 3 seasons it's mostly Sylar, but also characters like Adam Monroe and Emile Danko. For me the best villain was Samuel Sullivan, performed by Robert Knepper. He's just the perfect guy to play a good villain. That's one of the reasons why i liked season 4 more then season 2 & 3.

The reason why i liked season 1 is just because it's new and refreshing and it's a show like no other on TV. Too bad this show was canceled because it was a very promising show with a lot of potential. I don't think they already reached their highest potential.

House M.D.
(2004)

No doubt it's just the most brilliant show ever!
Let me first start by saying i totally hate medical shows! There are so much crappy medical show that i just can't stand to watch.

The reason i like this one it's mostly because they have the best cast i've ever seen on a show. Robert Sean Leonard,Omar Epps, Jesse Spencer, Lisa Edelstein, Jennifer Morrison, Peter Jacobson and just the whole cast is incredible.

But the best of them all is Hugh Laurie. He definitely deserved all of his Awards and Golden Globes. The problem with him now is that every time you see him in a movie or in another series you can only think of him as Doctor Gregory House. But i don't mind because he's just the best actor they could have picked for this role.

This show is, except for having the perfect cast, also brilliantly written. It's funny, clever, compelling, has some drama and it's mostly very addictive! I've bought all of the DVD's just so i can keep watching it if my computer crashes and i would have no money to buy another one ;)

I hope that the one's that never saw this show see this show as fast as possible. You will not regret it!

That '70s Show
(1998)

One of the best sitcoms ever!
Let's start by saying it's just one of the greatest sitcoms i've ever seen. It has all the characters a comedy show must have. A beautiful girl in the name of Mila Kunis, a dumb guy in the name of Ashton Kutcher and the creepy foreign guy in the name of Wilmer Valderrama. It's also like the normal setting in a sitcom. Put all the characters in a same room (in this case the basement) and let them have funny adventures.

The difficult part is to make it funny all the time and that's what this show does perfectly. Mostly i like the performance of Ashton Kutcher, he's just absolutely brilliant!

I have to say i didn't like season 8 as much as the other seasons, although it's still great! The reason is that Kelso and Eric are gone the most of the time, probably the 2 most funny people in the show.

It's also a show that makes you want to watch the next episode all the time. It's compelling, funny and has a great story behind it too. I wish there were more shows like this one.

White Collar
(2009)

This was a surprise!
Just looking for a good show i bumped into White Collar. I like crime series with a humorous touch so this was the perfect show for me.

When i saw this had such a high score here on IMDb, i had some expectations, but after seeing all the episodes i was just blown away.

When i watched this show i always got a kind of a feeling like the Ocean's movies. Clever, interesting, some action and also good humor.

Matt Bomer as well as Tim DeKay are brilliant in this show. Also the script is awesome and i'm always curious whats going to happen next. What makes a series a good series is just that you want to see the next episode or not. This is a series that i want to see the next episode of.

Everybody who likes a well written, funny and smart crime series, THIS is the show you have to watch!

Martyrs
(2008)

It's more than a movie!
This was one of the most horrific movies i've ever seen. I like the horror scene but there's also a lot of crap movies in this genre. When i started to watch this movie, i didn't know what to expect. Just surfing on the web to find a good horror movie and then i saw this.

In the first part i thought, this is just a sick slasher kind of movie, but in moments i knew that wasn't what this movie was. I don't know what to call it. Some kind of psychological torture horror movie or something like that. The second part of the movie is mostly about torture and that's when it become's psychological. That last part is one of the reasons that it's one of the best movies i've ever seen.

I like this movie because it has such a great background story and of course because it also has a lot of gore. They don't say all that much but images say more than words. The movie is constantly messing with your head, even when it's over. Even now, months after i saw the movie, i still sometimes think about it. And then i realized it's more than a movie, because something like this is even possible in real life. There are definitely some religious people who are nuts enough to make this movie become reality. It's sad to say, but true.

But for all people this movies a must watch! It's an excellent movie and especially the way in which they filmed it is perfect.

Cougar Town
(2009)

Seriously overrated
I have nothing much to say about this sitcom , but i can say it was one of the most painful experiences of my life. I didn't watch the whole show, only the first 5 episodes and it was bad. In one episode it made me laugh once, maybe twice. For me, a comedy show must be hilarious all the time, not only for 2 moments per episode. This is just a sad attempt to be funny.

It was also boring as hell. Not only is the show not funny, it's written so badly it's embarrassing. Maybe it's a good show for some people, but i don't think there are much men who like this. Too bad that i'm a man i guess ...
