If I recall correctly, 'Cleaner' did exceptionally poorly at the Box Office, and I can't help but feel like it had to do with the title of the film. Was there no better, more interesting, option available? It just does not sound like a film that makes me want to go and pay $50 to see.
Word of mouth can't have been great either to be fair, because this was a pretty poor film. The entire concept is broken from the get go. The villains are bad people, sure, but so are the people on the inside. And then there's the titular 'Cleaner' who is shown to be a pretty rubbish person herself. Who exactly are we supposed to root for?
The film is clearly going for a 'Die Hard' vibe, however that movie had a hero who you couldn't help but love. This movie had the exact opposite. And an hour into the film she's still hanging on the outside of the building, not having done anything. This script needed major work.
The one positive I will give the film is that the villain was a loose unit who you never knew what he was going to do next. No one felt safe when they were in his presence and I like that in a movie. Otherwise though, it's very hard to find praise for this movie. A generous 5/10.

I have always imagined 'The Devil All the Time' being a very different film to what it turned out to be. From the poster I thought it was going to be based around Tom Holland being an evil Devil-like character and everything would stem from there. I was very wrong. I also wish I hadn't put off seeing this film for five years, because I really enjoyed it.
It's one of those films where every character is a scumbag - to the point where you stop fighting it and just go along with the ride. And what a dark and gritty ride it is. There is one scene in this movie that I will be thinking about for a while to come.
Usually in a film like this there is a side story that I find a lot less interesting than the rest, however in this film that wasn't the case. I enjoyed every story arc and it made the long runtime go by very quickly. I enjoyed this one from start to finish. 9/10.
Note: Sebastian Stan was in this movie. For some reason I watch Stan act and I don't register it to be him. He's a very fine actor. I don't know why this is. I will continue to monitor the situation going forward.

It took me a little while to get into the vibe of 'Sacramento' but once I did it became very enjoyable. It's a similar movie in a lot of ways to 'A Real Pain'. Every character looks like they are carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders, but trying their best to hide it.
The humour in the film is what takes some adjusting to. It is extremely dry. Once you adjust and start vibing with it though there are some very funny moments it has to be said.
Michael Cera was born to plays roles like this. I'm not even sure if he's acting half the time, or whether they just started filming him on break and worked it into the story. This one was a nice surprise. 7/10.
