Strangers on a Train
(1951)

The ending ruins it
My wife and I enjoyed the movie until the end. It was only OK up until then. The scene of Bruno retrieving the lighter from the sewer was very poorly done and not believable. Then came the totally preposterous end. A cop just shooting into a crowd and the the carousel going wild was just nuts. It was fun to watch but too absurd. To many lapses in logic in general in the movie.

Airplane vs. Volcano
(2014)

Contrived
So many contrived aspects to create excitement. Fails miserably. The people do stupid things just to move along the action and it stinks. If you just want to watch semi-exciting scenes, without any rhyme or reason. then OK for you. Anyone who wants to have a reason for those scenes, forget it.

Be Afraid
(2017)

Don't waste your time.
I hate movies that don't make any sense. I hate movies that give no real reason for any of the events. It just happens because it happens to make a pointless movie. If you like to know the why of a plot then don't bother with this movie.

Space Captain: Captain of Space!
(2014)

Why is this movie not more widely known?
Most of the cheap parody movies are disappointing. This one was NOT. I was going to give it an 8 but even the very end was a gag so that made it a nine. There were so many great little things that make this movie excel.

Innocent Blood
(1992)

A very fun Vampire movie
The movie had some little funny quips early on. It only got better. It was the humor that made this move. It also had some interesting twists on the usual vampire story.

Transpecos
(2016)

Pointless waste of time
My wife and I kept hoping for more of a movie than was there.

Whisper
(2007)

A little excitement but not much else
Nothing really worth watching. Nothing new and nothing special so why bother?

Beneath
(2013)

It was not typical
Yes the fish sucked. The look really sucked. But I prefer substance and this movie did have that. It was different from the typical such movie. A different study into human nature. The substance was not substantial but the movie did entertain me.

In the Tall Grass
(2019)

How can anyone have given this movie a good rating?
My wife and I disliked this so much, we wanted to give it a zero instead of a one on Netflix. I do not know that it has any redeeming qualities. It tried to be atmospheric horror but had no substance. I despise movies where things are done just to be done with no logic or reason behind them. If you can not come up with a reason then don't write it.

Alfred Hitchcock Presents
(1955)

The best of the anthology series
There are more classic episodes of AHP than there are of Twilight Zone in my opinion. Add to that the droll humor of Hitchcock at the beginning and end makes this a huge winner.

Green Acres
(1965)

This may be the best TV comedy ever.
Of all the vintage TV comedies this one holds up completely. My wife and I love every episode and laugh a lot every episode.

Dennis the Menace
(1959)

This still holds up with lots of laughs.
My wife and I watch this together and we both enjoy it. It has lots of good fun in every episode.

1922
(2017)

Completely lackluster.
I can not think of a single reason to watch this movie. I am disappointed in the time my wife and I wasted on it. Neither of us have anything good to say about it.

Mom and Dad
(2017)

If you want a movie with a real plot forget this one.
Here is a movie with a premise but absolutely no plot. I guess that is the spoiler. If you watch a movie, like I do, to see why things happen you will never know. I can not enjoy a movie just for random excitement.

Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie
(2017)

If you liked Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs you should enjoy this.
It is difficult to make a movie that is totally preposterous while not being just plain stupid. This movie succeeds. I do not think there should be a sequel but a tv series based on the books might work.

The Shadow People
(2017)

If you want to watch a scary movie this is not it.
The movie starts out looking like it might be OK. Ghosts start appearing and you think it might by scary. Throughout the whole movie it is not scary. It seems that the whole point of the movie is for the couple to kiss. That seems to be all they do. There is a gratuitous sex/nude scene at the start. I actually did not even see the end. My wife and I could not even care enough to watch it till the end.

I Am Wrath
(2016)

Way to predictable......contains spoilers
Almost everything in the movie was completely predictable from the start. The only reason it is not a one is because the action was fun to watch and his friend was likable.

It also had too many coincidences and absurdities. Travolta's ability to take out so many so easily was not made believable. The hospital scene was really stupid. His daughter being able to get a gun to a "criminal" patient is not believable. His friend just being their at the ready was not believable. How did a pack of matches light itself? man The "miraculous" timings of the escape from the trunk was done just to be done. Very poor writing to have the family just about to leave when just at that time the bad guys break in. There have to be things done in movies to make it more exciting but it needs to be done better than this.

Moms' Night Out
(2014)

Funniest movie I have seen in a long time.
This movie starts and ends with making everyone laugh. I do not really like going to the movies. I prefer to watch a movie on TV while I am also engaged on the laptop. I normally fidget when watching a movie in the theater waiting for it to end. Not the case with Mom's Night Out. It kept me so busy laughing out loud that I was enjoying every minute of it. There were times when it was hard to hear because the whole audience was laughing so loud. It is a fantastic family movie and one everyone can enjoy. It has no foul language or sex scenes to worry about. Those are never really needed except to appeal to the immature. It is not overly preachy so even non-Christians can enjoy it.

God's Not Dead
(2014)

Sure the movie is predictable but so what.
From the other reviews, I may say this movie is not the best to take an atheist friend to. But it does a lot to lift up and bolster Christians. Sure the non-Christians are stereotyped, so what. How many Hollywood movies are allowed to stereotype Christians with impunity? The are stereotypical to get the point of the movie across. You can only do so much in around two hours. Showing that Christianity is the better way of life is fine with me, because it is. The audience at the theater clapped a couple of times in the movie. If it gives Christians a few points to point out to atheists then mores the better. No it does not answer every question, but it does address some. My family and friends all loved it. Much better than the anti-Bible story of Noah made by Hollywood.
