The Way Home
(2023)

I LoVe "The Way Home" It's exciting, intriguing, fun and romantic.
Updated: You've got to watch the first season first. This isn't one of those shows where you can pick up in the middle and figure out what's going on. Sometimes they air last season on Spectrum to record or you may be able to watch it on demand.

I LOVE IT!!! If you need a series where you forget what's going on in your life or you need to destress, this is the one!!! The storyline is very imaginative, and I'm always pulled in by the plot. I often will watch episodes twice. I have to say I was on the edge of my seat waiting for the second season! It didn't disappoint! They do such a good job of telling "the story." I don't want to give anything away. If you're thinking about watching this show, think no further. Find the first season and watch it now!!! This show is at the level!

Chyler Leigh plays Kat Landry. Chyler played Lexie Grey in Grey's Anatomy. She's very good in this. You almost don't realize it's her. :)

Also, Andie MacDowell is in this. She plays Kat's mom. She's always good. I don't recall seeing Sadie Laflamme-Snow, Evan Williams or David Webster before but the whole cast is fabulous. I recognized Jefferson Brown, who plays Colton Landry, Kat's dad. He's also very good.

RUN! Don't walk to get a hold of the first season of The Way Home so you can watch it! OK, you're dismissed, go get it, go watch it. ;) Trust me! You're gonna love it!

The Way Home: Not All Who Wander Are Lost
(2023)
Episode 10, Season 1

My favorite series! Wonderful!!

Maybe It's You
(2023)

Bad ending
I liked the movie, it was funny and clever and refreshing, and I liked all the snappy comebacks between the two lead characters. They were very credible. I would have definitely liked to watch it again if it were not for the ending. But it was not a Hallmark movie. It doesn't get all tied up in a bow at the end like you think it's going to be. There was a tiny bit of language and sex.

I hardly ever write reviews, but I'm just so mad at the way the movie ended! I think I would've given it a 7 or an 8 if it had had a better ending. Very unhappy about the ending. Did you catch on that I do not like the ending? ;)

The Best of Me
(2014)

Spoiler-ish Alert
This is a really good movie, and it's very romantic and sweet except the ending sucked. It was unnecessary that they ended it the way they did. Don't waste your time. You'll be mad that you did. I'm so pissed. Their relationship was so good and I loved James Marsden and Michelle Monaghan together. Also Luke Bracey and Liana Liberato were great. And Gerald McRaney was awesome! The story was believable and so were all these characters. What I would say is it really makes a difference what choices you make in your life as to how your life is going to go. Even small ones. Even justified ones. (And if you've seen the movie, you'll know what I'm referring to.) If your friend says "drive me down to the liquor store" and then he goes in and robs and shoots the guy behind the counter, you must drive away and leave him. Don't stay there and pick him up because you will be an accessory to murder, and he'll probably flip on you and tell the authorities that it was your idea. What I'm saying HERE doesn't have a lot to do with THIS movie so it's not really a spoiler, but it makes a difference what choices you make in your life on how your life is going to go. Make good choices. Do the right thing.

Christmas Bedtime Stories
(2022)

So good!! I disagree with the low ratings, it's a Must See!
My hubs and I REALLY LIKED it! Sometimes little signs happen to us, and I believe it's to let us know we're on the right track. All the characters were so believable and realistic. It felt like a reality show.

You gotta watch this one! I loved it! 10 out of 10!!

Signs: The stories that she was telling her daughter about her husband and then what happened each time after she would tell one.

It wasn't your typical Hallmark movie. We loved that! Thanks for venturing out! They gave us a new interesting plot and helped us to feel what it would really be like if "this" happened to us. At least that's how I felt about it.

Life isn't all unicorns and rainbows. There are a lot of tough things that happen in life that you have to work through and walk through and hopefully be better for after you go through them.

OH! And there were great songs! Tyrone Wells and The Sugar Sisters come to mind!

Thank you Hallmark for a high quality film!!

Unplanned
(2019)

MUST SEE MOVIE
You shall know the Truth and the Truth shall set you free. This movie tells the truth about abortion. We must not let the enemy lie to us!

There is no excuse for killing a fetus in order to eliminate a one-night-stand mistake, or remove an inconvenience.

I am sorry, but we know we are wrong, and must repent of our guilt. That is the only way for us to be free.

This movie has just shown us the Truth! The killing must stop. There will always be consequences for our actions.

By the way, I felt this movie truly touched a nerve about a very serious issue in our nation at this time and did a very good job of doing it. I don't really go for these types of films, but I really was seriously moved to tears and I am a plumber/construction guy born in 1957, and very calloused, I might add.

Please look deep in your heart and see if there is some room for change in there.

A Christmas Movie Christmas
(2019)

Good Satire, Clever
This movie pokes fun at all the clichés that you see on Christmas movies on Hallmark and Lifetime and yet is unique in its own right. It's very tongue-in-cheek. You've got to give it a chance. It builds and builds until the end. It was not your typical predictable boring Christmas movie where the main character's mom/dad died or is a widow or widower blah blah blah, you know what I'm talking about. If this movie seems over the top, it was intentional. It's like a good, well-produced song. It starts out a little soft and quiet in the beginning and builds up a little more and then a little more and then it has a great crescendo at the end. A good song or a good movie doesn't start OFF with a bang. It ENDS with a bang. And you enjoy the ride along the way.

Love Blossoms
(2017)

You've gotta see this one!
This movie was excellent. Don't listen to the naysayers. Uh oh, barlowralph "Some Smiles, Some Yawns" gave SPOILERS, so DON'T READ THAT ONE! And DON'T read Miss M's "Lovely, something different" either because there are SPOILERS!..... I'm so glad I did not read these reviews before I watched the movie, because I would've been upset that I knew what was going to happen..... The scenery was gorgeous, excellent shots, the story was very new and fresh, with some unique twists that I'd not seen before. The music was great. The acting was very real, my husband and I felt like we were a part of their lives. This is a must see. Very inspirational. We LOVED IT!!!

It's Complicated
(2009)

Spoiler Alert - Don't waste your time! See my List for better choices.
This was an overall good movie, lots of funny bits by many of the actors, but to me, and this is a spoiler… so don't read any further if you don't want to know what happens…to me, a movie is a movie in its entirety and if the ending is poor, then the movie's poor. Here's another spoiler about another movie…You don't want someone to finally find their true love and then in the next scene have them drown in a body of water next to where they lived their whole life? What!? That's another movie that you probably know about (Message in a Bottle), that had a very poor ending and I hated the movie BECAUSE of the ending. I would've given THIS movie an 8 or 9, except the ending was totally unbelievable and it absolutely sucked and ruined the movie for me, so I had to bring it down to a 5, which is really generous considering they chose that terrible ending. Did I mention I didn't like the ending? ;) Many romantic comedies I will watch over and over but I can't watch this one when it comes on TV because I know how it ends and I hate the ending, so why bother?! Don't waste your time on this one. Watch these instead - copy them into your notes, take a picture: The Man Who Came to Dinner, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year, About Time, The Christmas Hope, Angels and Ornaments; Signed, Sealed, Delivered for Christmas; The Christmas Wish, New in Town, You Can't Take it With You, A Season for Miracles, Christmas Magic, Matchmaker Santa, Something's Gotta Give, Have a Little Faith, The Christmas Secret, As Good as it Gets, The Nine Lives of Christmas, The Christmas Shepherd, Saving Mr. Banks or Chef!!! One more: A Very Merry Mix-Up. Enjoy!

Angels and Ornaments
(2014)

Original romantic movie with a twist
Like one of the reviewers said, "give it a chance." I almost didn't watch it either. The beginning was a bit slow + rough, but the actors who played David, Corrine and "Harold" were very good and believable, and I liked the store and stage settings. (Don't miss this great song!) After watching the beginning, I fast forwarded to the middle (which seemed really good), and when I couldn't tell what was going on, I decided to go ahead and give it a try and went back to the beginning. Yay!! I'm soooo glad I did. It was a very sweet and touching movie... As one of the reviewer's alluded to: you can't *always* tell in the first few minutes if it's going to be a good one or not. (I do that, too.) ;) There were some very inspirational and meaningful (and surprising) twists and turns in the story. I really liked it a lot! (This next section may be considered somewhat of a SPOILER, but that's why we like Hallmark movies; for HEAs, or Happily Ever Afters.) ;) If you are a romantic, like me, you will like this movie. OK? (And I DID like the year later scene.) Hang in there and watch this movie all the way from beginning to end. Don't fast-forward or you will miss important parts. Then write a review in response to mine. :-) Enjoy!

First Dog
(2010)

Very lovely family film for kids and adults, especially dog lovers!
I really enjoyed this film!! I LOVE LOVE dogs and I thought it was super sweet!! There is an emphasis on "doing the right thing" portrayed throughout the whole movie, along with interesting historical facts for young and old. Helpful in instilling integrity in children AND grow ups. There is No foul language or innuendo. All the characters in the movie are believable. It's definitely at a child's level, but I really enjoyed it and I haven't been a child for a very long time! I especially liked the boy, the gentleman who played big Mike, and Teddy, the dog (Little Bear in real life). There is lots of adventure, suspense, action, comedy and some very nice photography. It's very sweet and even teaches you about recognizing when someone is truly honest, by what they do (their actions), and not only what they say. Highly recommend. Dolly Parton's music is also in the film. Get it, Netflix it, DVR it, and you and your kids will love it!!
