This movie made me feel nauseous. I don't understand why anyone enjoys movies where horrible things are done to people. How can anyone find this worthwhile? How can enough people get behind a project like this to get it made?
I wish I hadn't subjected myself to this garbage. I suppose the acting is good, but I can't give it any more stars because of that -- it's like saying someone did a masterful job cooking a stew with e coli-ridden meat.
The message behind this movie is completely backward. Two wrongs do NOT make a right. If you object to the mistreatment of people, then don't mistreat people. If you object to the torturing and killing of people, then don't torture and kill people. It's a simple as that. Vigilante justice is never okay, and although it can be entertaining in a superhero flick, it's not at all entertaining when it's portrayed as one human being torturing another to their death.
Absolutely vile and disgusting.

I remember the days when you'd spontaneously swing by the movie theater after dinner out on a Friday night, and watch whatever had just come out, and sometimes be really surprised by how good it was... this was like that! As some other reviewers have recommended, just dive in without watching the trailer or anything.
This is a unique movie, and stayed interesting to the last minute. It doesn't try too hard to be anything more than it is, and it is a really fresh story -- perfect for the times we are living in right now. It may creep you out, but it will probably also make you laugh.
Good acting all around! It's fun to see Jack Quaid's career unfolding (he's as talented as both of his parents!) and Sophie Thatcher and Lukas Gage are both great, as well as the rest of the cast.
I would love to see more fresh themes like this. Streaming has been so hit and miss over the past few years, it's always a welcome surprise to find something new that you actually want to tell people about. Highly recommend!

I will sound like a grumpy old person, but I was born in 1970 and this show does not accurately portray the early 80s. The first episode is set in 1981 and it comes off more like 1989 or the early 90s. Those of us who lived in this era can spot the counterfeit a mile away (one of the characters using the word "bee-otch" for example... no, that word was not in use in 1981). That's annoying.
But whatever -- I could probably get past that if there was some sort of plot or story arc. I hate shows like this that just have a bunch of fast-moving scenes with every character acting in a completely unrealistic way, and no underlying STORY.
Yes, I get that it's a story about a housewife with an eating disorder who I presume is going to "find herself" in aerobics. So what? It's not an *interesting* story, because the characters are not intriguing and the scenarios are disjointed. It feels like all the effort went into the camerawork and someone's idea of, "Hey, let's make an 80s show."
Maybe it picks up eventually, but after you've wasted at least a full episode and a half with nothing to catch the viewer's attention, I can't imagine it's ever going to be worth the time to stick it out. I'm out.
