Well, I must admit, getting through this game took me much longer than it should have, as I allowed myself to get distracted with other games. Nonetheless, I finally wrapped this up, and while I can say I enjoyed the game, I must admit my slight disappointment.
First things first, the game is good and far from bad! The writing and storytelling that made God of War (2018) such a masterpiece remain. The character development, the beautiful character-driven moments are great, and Bear McCreary's musical score is phenomenal.
However, I feel the story lacks in some areas. In certain moments, it's as strong as ever, but in others, it's weaker. The pacing of this game feels off. When the game switches gears to tell Atreus's story, it halts the overall narrative. While Atreus's story is good, his gameplay and journey just didn't grip me.
Something else I was not prepared for was how much this felt like Atreus's game. Kratos is almost a secondary character, and I just couldn't fully embrace that. However, it made the moments I had with Kratos, Mimir, and Freya all the sweeter.
With that said, the game is still good. The strong moments between Kratos and Atreus remain, and it's beautiful to see Atreus grow and even more heartwarming to witness how Kratos continues to grow.
Overall, while I enjoyed my time with this game, I believe it's nowhere near the masterpiece its superior predecessor, God of War (2018), was.
Final Score: 8/10.

After playing the disappointing Dragon Age: The Veilgard, I was really looking forward to taking a break from long, open-world, action role-playing games to play something more narrative-focused. But man, I was not prepared for this trash.
Being a fan of Telltale Games, I was excited to play this sequel to Tales from the Borderlands. But dear God, this game was so bad it made BioWare's disastrous The Veilgard look like a masterpiece!
Nothing-and I mean nothing-is worth playing here. It's all trash! The writing is terrible, the story is horrible, the characters are stupid, and the dialogue is atrocious. It started out average at best and just continued to deteriorate.
I was so bored while playing this dump that I would make "bad" choices on purpose just for an inkling of entertainment. But eventually, even that got boring because there are no consequences to these choices. Granted, even in Telltale's games, the story is mostly linear, but they were at least entertaining.
Unfunny, unnecessary, boring, and cringe are how I would describe this utter piece of trash! I'm aware Borderlands is wacky and over the top, but this game would take an unfunny joke and make a meal of it. Unfortunately, this is all New Tales from the Borderlands is.
I can't believe I wasted my entire day with this crap, but I got it done and can finally move on. I need, now more than ever, to play something good. Here's hoping The Expanse from Telltale will deliver.
Final Score: 1/10.

Oh, BioWare, what happened? How have you fallen to such depths? Once the masters of storytelling with an amazing legacy of fantastic role-playing games like Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Mass Effect, and until recently, Dragon Age.
You once held the gold standard of storytelling in an interactive medium! And now you are a shadow of your former selves.
As a big fan of BioWare, Dragon Age: The Veilgard is a massive, disastrous disappointment. Everything that made BioWare known for creating strong, compelling gaming experiences is nowhere to be found.
Gone is the good storytelling, gone are the memorable characters and moments, gone is the competent writing. Instead, what do we have? A story and game that seem to have been made with the competence of an entry-level intern or a twelve-year-old.
Dragon Age used to be dark, used to be bloody, but now, in place of an intriguing dark fantasy world, we are treated to softness, where actions and choices have very little to no consequences.
This game has almost no redeemable qualities. The characters are all boring, the writing is trash and almost entirely cringe-worthy, and the player character has about as much personality as a rock. Perhaps the only thing in this trash that's worth a d*mn is the fact that the great Hans Zimmer worked on its soundtrack.
In my entire 75+ hour experience, I can barely think of anything positive... The character creator is at least good, with plenty of options for customization, but even this is somewhat of a letdown because everyone looks so nice and clean. It makes it quite difficult if you wanted to create a rough-looking character. However, I must admit the game does impress with its accessibility settings, making it possible to truly tailor the game in whatever way you wish to experience it.
But say farewell to any sort of evil playthrough or seeing how bad your character can become because it is literally impossible to be a jerk in this game. You have three options: be nice, be sarcastically nice, or be straightforwardly nice. It's all nice and extremely watered down. This is by far the most M-rated T-for-Teen game I have ever played.
Plain and simply put, Dragon Age: The Veilgard is the Disneyfication of a once-great franchise and game developer. To make matters worse, this same dev team has moved to working on Mass Effect 4. Dear God, they are going to destroy that franchise too.
BioWare really needed a win here, especially after the Anthem debacle, but it is very clear to me now more than ever that this once legendary developer has fallen.
Final Score: 2/10.
