I don't understand why this isn't more popular. It has great acting and writers. I think this show is an under dog because it doesn't get any recognition. Why are people able to appreciate Modern Family but not Parenthood? I love the character dynamics and plot lines. This show seems like real life to me. Dax Shepard is one one of the reasons why I checked out this show and I was pleasantly surprised find out what good actor he is.

There isn't one single star of the show, it is a collaborative show. Every single story line is well acted and realistic. The only thing I hate about this show is that I end up crying during every single episode. I hope this show doesn't end up getting cancelled but I doubt that will happen because I am pretty sure it has a loyal following.

After I finished watching the fourth season finale of Dexter I starting looking for a show to watch that could tide me over until the next season started, so I decided to check out Breaking Bad. I picked this show because I used to watch Malcolm and the Middle and noticed how popular it was. I hadn't really paid any attention to the commercials so I didn't know what the show was about before watching. I was surprised when I watched the pilot episode. I thought he was going to be playing another version of Hal(Malcolm in the Middle) when I first saw Bryan Cranston standing in the middle of the desert wearing tighty whities. Boy was I wrong. I was hooked from the very first episode. The show has amazing actors and writers. It is not surprising this show has won so many awards. I only wish I had started watching this when it first came on. Like so many other great shows, I started watching it after it became very successful so I ended up staying up all night watching the first three seasons in three days.

The show is basically about a female detective who starts investigating the mysterious death of her rich childhood best friend(Vivian). I like this show and I plan on watching it in the future but I have to say this show really reminds me of 2004's UPS drama Veronica Mars. Veronica was also a detective who investigated her best friends's(Lily) murder. Joanna(Meagan Good) and Veronica both dated their murdered best friends' brother. Both victims were a little promiscuous, came from a wealthy dysfunctional family, were blonde, and had a substance abuse problem. The only real difference is that Veronica was a high school student and Joanna is an adult.

This show isn't very original, some of the plot twists are a little predictable and the writing isn't very good but I like the murder/mystery genre. I am glad to see Meagan Good starring in her own show and to see Laz Alonzo(Breakout Kings) again.

P.S. If you like this show you might also like Veronica Mars. Unfortunately it only lasted 3 seasons but it was well written. I'm pretty sure it's on Hulu if you want to check it out.
