Tomorrowland
(2015)

Not at all what I had suspected
So a robot girl that George Clooney is still in love with (pedophile?) and RC helicopter pilot teenager that demolishes property to save property from demolition go on a inter dimensional trip to kill House, M.D.

Yes, that is the story of this movie. Decide for yourself if you want to watch that.

Beyond that the actors did a fine job although Clooney seemed bored in some scenes. What saved this movie from a one star rating is the young robot girl that played her role really well and was kind of cute in her own way.

Man of Steel
(2013)

Man of Steal - whole lot of action, just no story.
Recently I went to see Man of Steel and to be honest: I did not like it. Not even enjoyed it. My hopes were set high when seeing the trailers and reading all the glamorous names starring in it. Also I was hoping that it had a reasonable storyline and some new cool additions to the old Superman franchise.

I was left disappointed. And here is why (contains minor spoilers): - The evil General Zod gains super powers once he arrives on Earth, yet he decides to take away a lot of these powers by terraforming Earth into Crypton? Yes, that makes a lot of sense! - Superman can breath in Space, yet he has problems breathing his own atmosphere and is weakened by that. - The Cryptonians have conquered star systems for 100,000 years, yet they decide to stop this because they run out of resources. And suddenly they lose all their spaceships to leave the dying planet. The movie explains it with these words: "We are bound to our history and may not leave." Yeah right... never heard anything dumber. - The whole movie is one big action scene that seems like it has been stolen by other movies like Matrix III (the whole battle in and around the skyscrapers). The magnetic liquid metal looks like the robots in Matrix as well. Krypton in the start of the movie kind of looks like Star Wars with flying creatures from Avatar. And the scenes from the early Clark Kent seem to be inspired by X-Men a lot... So one could state that it is Man of Steal. To be honest: The entire second half of the movie is a stupid clash of stupid characters that take stupid actions that maybe look good. - And of course there is still no explanation as to why nobody recognizes Clark Kent as Superman. - Btw. the 3D is a joke!

I mean, I did not expect this to be some sort of documentary, but some kind of believable story would have been nice. Is that asking too much from Hollywood nowadays?

Red Dawn
(2012)

Not Only Hard to Believe
I read a review where the story of the movie was said to be unlogical and hard to believe. Well it's also hard to believe that a man shoots webs from his arms and that an alien lands on earth and can fly and shoot lasers from his eyes.

But it's not about a band of young men and women fighting against an army that's making this movie bad. It is that it is just so trivial. There is no feeling for the characters involved because they're just the 500th football playing college kids you will see in a movie. There is no heart and there is not one good actor in it.

Not worth watching at all ...

Silver Linings Playbook
(2012)

One of the best romantic movies I have seen
This story isn't really to innovative and so is its presentation. It all reminds more of a normal American family that lives on the edge. And this exactly is what makes this so lovely and great. You would think that Robert de Niro who always plays brilliantly does the best acting and has the best character here. Or maybe Bradley Cooper, who already has proved his abilities lie beyond partying in movies like Limitless.

But really, the one who touched me the most was the character Tiffany, played by Jennifer Lawrence. Her story and the things she did and told because of that made so much sense in so many ways. Every move she made, every emotion she gave just everything about her character was very well provided by an incredible acting job, one sure worthy of an Oscar.

If you do not wanna watch this movie by now, you might as well never watch anything meaningful in your life again. End of story ...
