The Men Who Built America: Frontiersmen
(2018)

Fantastic, they left some out, but still fantastic
I have only seen the Daniel Boone episode at this point, but I loved it. They left out a lot, but it's the History Channel and they tend to do that, plus they only had a certain amount of time.

I like how they included Boone's daughter as being a strong woman.

I beg of anyone who knows, to tell me the theme song.

Poltergeist: The Legacy
(1996)

X-files level
This is the only supernatural show that even ever compared to the X-Files level. It is brilliant. I curse whoever canceled it.

The ideas are novel, handled well, have splendidly filmed "shadowbacks" and the cast works very well together.

The idea of a privileged society of "secrecy" and living in an ancient and beautiful castle on a private island appeals to the kid in us and sets us up for wanting to be scared. Then they do it! And then you find yourself wanting to live in the castle too.

The cast feels like family. The place is warm and cozy, with fog and fireplaces. All of this artfully counteracts with the cold and decidedly non-cozy effects of demonic appearances.

The team investigates outside forces and forces within their own walls, some following them home.

Buy all 4 seasons of this if you can.

The Snow Walker
(2003)

Uh boring
This movie had a fighting chance. It has some good actors and good scenery but ZERO chemistry between the two main characters.

I am a Barry Pepper fan, which is why I rented it, and he did a good job, but this movie was just plain boring.

Nothing happened. Nothing. I understand the quality of "nothing" at times is a good thing but this is not one of those times.

I found myself fast-forwarding just to get to the end of it.

Bad movie. Good try, but bad result.

I'd give Barry Pepper a try in other movies, such as 61* (excellent) and Saving Private Ryan, but not this one.

Too bad, too bad.....
