Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire
(2024)

Popcorn entertainment
I hope nobody is actually looking for a deep, thought provoking, brainy movie, because this is not why you go to see a Godzilla film! It's pure popcorn entertainment, full of explosive action, titans fighting and wrecking everything around them without a care in the world. The effects are good, battles are entertaining and they keep the monkey brain in a state of total joy throughout the less than two hours duration! Yes, this one doesn't suck 3 or 4 hours of your life and doesn't waste your time. That alone is worth paying for the ticket, haha. Nerds will enjoy it, kids will be in awe and your inner monkey will be satisfied. Grab some popcorn, a cold beer, and have fun!

Foundation
(2021)

A solid foundation for a solid sci-fi series
Let's set things straight: No, this is not like the books. Now let's put things into perspective: Is this a solid sci-fi show? Definitely! I love the books and I enjoy the show. While I'm a bit infuriated by the fact they changed the gender of some characters, let's also remember the fact that Asimov didn't really put much accent on individual characters. And never forget that you can never compare a show to a book.

Yes, the book will always be better. And no, they can never fully translate it into cinematography. But that's where creative minds step in. And Foundation, the series, is quite fascinating. They took some liberties, but artistically and esthetically speaking, it's a marvel! They manage to captivate your attention and keep you invested. If you like sci-fi you'll enjoy this. I am pleased with what they made and hope to see their vision expanded over several seasons.

Fear the Walking Dead: Six Hours
(2021)
Episode 2, Season 7

Yellow submarine!
We all live in a yellow submarine, yellow submarine, yellow submarine!

The only thing that kept me going through this episode was that I remembered this song. Otherwise I would have fallen asleep.

Like, really, when the only positive thing they could bring up about the episode is "the baby's Oscar worthy crying" you know they aren't even taking this show seriously anymore. They are just having fun on how out of ideas they are.

And that "plot twist" at the end? What a joke.

I refuse to believe that there are some writers being paid to come up with silly stuff like that.

The Liberator
(2020)

Better than expected!
I was skeptical when I saw this filter they applied to it. But at the same time, I felt this has potential. I was right! It's quite unique, the filter somehow fits the show's theme and historical period. The word "vintage" comes to mind. You just get used to it, it's not disturbing or harmful to your eyes. It's just different, that's what they probably went for. The show respects the historical subject and the cast does a good job portraying the men who gave their lives for that which they held dear and for their hopes and beliefs. There is some propaganda involved and I found the pacing to be quite uneven. Regardless of this, it all comes together quite nicely if you have the patience to follow the trail it leads. If you enjoy history, you will love this!

The Walking Dead: A Certain Doom
(2020)
Episode 16, Season 10

Hands down, one of the best TWD episodes!
What a ride! What a crazy, crazy ride! I've been with TWD since 2010. This, here, is one of the best episodes in the series. The tension, slowly building, the sheer terror, the amazing acting, the bonds, the enmity, the hidden dagger in a crowd of walkers. Daryl, Carol, Negan, Maggie! They have all come this far. A very fitting ending for the Whisperers. The entire episode was such a masterpiece. The wait for the next episode is going to be a loong one.

Dokutâ Sutôn
(2019)

Smart, colorful and full of hope.
What a superb anime! Every episode is full of knowledge and adventures. The characters are interesting the story is fresh and the art and animation are gorgeous. No unnecessary nudity, sex or extreme violence. Every episode is a magnificent trip full of hope for the human race. We really came far throughout history if you think of it. I hope the show gets many many many seasons! Arigato!

Vinland Saga
(2019)

You must watch this one!
I found out about this anime from a random trailer on YouTube. I had absolutely no idea there was a manga on this subject. Oh, boy am I glad I decided to watch the trailer! After watching all 3 episodes, all I can say is IMPRESSIVE! From the opening sequence to the great cgi, graphics and world building to the believable environment, characters and story. And the historical aspects are treated with respect. The simple fact that there are no horned helmets makes me want to rate it 10/10! Somehow, it brings back memories from the very first season of Vikings. I am really intrigued by Vinland Saga and can't wait to find out more about this series. Maybe I'll even give the manga a go. It's a must watch!

Star Trek: Discovery: The Wolf Inside
(2018)
Episode 11, Season 1

It's getting better and better!
Yes, there you have it. The show is getting better and better! The chemistry between characters is gradually building up. We've got tension, action, bonds and actors glued to their characters. Sure, the story still leaves us with a lot of questions and some gaps here and there. But hey, there's four more episodes left!

That, plus a whole new second season to be excited for. Those of you who keep on bashing on this show, please don't call yourselves Star Trek fans anymore. You are just ungrateful, unrealistic and all you do is type nonsense and throw delusional marks on every episode. Just stop. The show builds up slowly but it is starting to shine. Give it a chance.

Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens
(2015)

Star Wars is indeed AWAKENING !
********Spoiler Free*********

Bravo, J.J.! Cheers, actors! Thanks a million, George Lucas, for finally seeing yourself out! Rejoice, fans and people from all around the world, cause Star Wars is alive and kicking! Kicking like a bull and breathing like a newborn. We all awaited for it, and it's finally here. I should mention I'm fresh out of the cinema, first with eyes wiiiide open cause of the price for four tickets, and then with heart still pounding after watching the show. Yes, it's a great comeback, and a really well done movie.

No, it's NOT a remake, NOR a reboot. People saying this are all full of bull... you know the rest. :) It's a New Star Wars, raised by the old ones but with it's own spirit. Visually stunning, the audio part is as amazing as always (90% thanks to mr. John Williams), with mostly the soundtrack we love and know returning, and some new bits of music that were really a joy to my ear. Due to technological advancements, the effects are now a wonder. There are some moments in which you feel sucked into that world.

Now for the actors, one can immediately see they enjoyed doing this a lot. They did it with passion and commitment. J.J. did great by joining the old characters that we love with young ones (great choices!). Daisy Ridley is by far the star of our movie, and man she shines like a lightsaber! Beautiful young woman,I felt lots of modesty in her way, and this only adds to her talent. What I like most about her is that she's natural, and they didn't used a ton of makeup stuff on her, a thing that i deeply appreciate! If you ever read this, Daisy, keep on laughing, smiling and being yourself, the path ahead of you is filled with greatness! The bond between her and John Boyega (well done, man!) is really good, and it feels throughout the show. Nothing forced, with funny moments. Oscar Isaac as Poe was also a great choice, I only wished there were more moments with him. Then of course we have Adam Driver, who's the dark side itself! He plays it very well, although I felt like his character was a little bit rushed. Don't get me wrong, he's that badass which we all expected, but still a little too thin as far as complexity, development. Probably the next parts will do him more justice, cause hell, there is much potential there! As for the good old actors, yes, they are there, but it feels like they are in it more for offering that nostalgia (then again, there's nothing bad with that). I smiled and felt overwhelmed seeing them again after all this time. You'll feel the same, that's certain. The story is indeed built on the skeleton of the originals (mostly episode IV), meaning it stays true to it while same time being freshly new. I must repeat, even if you'll feel familiar with some stuff you'll see, it's not a remake or reboot. My worst fear was that it would become too "modern", only to please the waves of nowadays young rebels. But rest assured, it's not the case. The old and the new unite in a great final product of imagination, years of work, passion and magic.

Yes, it's magic. Can't wait for the next installments, there's so much more to be done and told and shown! Star Wars is here to stay, with renewed force and vitality. Now go see it! And skip watching youtube or bad reviews before you do that, you'll thank me after. May the awakened force be with you!

Absolutely Anything
(2015)

A simple, silly, but funny and enjoyable family movie.
What should I start with ? Oh, yes, I don't really get the mediocre score and reviews for this movie. Yeah, it's not another Holymollywood show (thank heavens!), it's not amazing in any way, but it does great at being a simple, enjoyable and funny movie to watch with your family. Both Simon Pegg and Kate are lovely to watch here.

You can just sit, relax and have a fun time. It clearly doesn't try to be smart or serious, people should understand this. There's also a tiny but nice message in it, that once understood, makes a better image of it all. If you enjoyed "Hector and the search for happiness", you should give this one a try. We need more movies like this!
