This movie starts out with a selfish woman, who wants spirituality and doesn't want to put the work in. Instead what we got is a woman who is never, ever happy. She's crying and depressed while stuffing her mouth with lots of carbs.
This is the absolute worst message to send to young girls. I know of women like this and they "find themselves" and in the end either are childless or at best never married with a kid they acquired from the wrong man along their discovery journey.
The problem is the main character should have either fortified this out in college or soon after, not after she missed her window for having a family. He first husband was fine, it was her with the issues of dealing with her selfishness and sense of entitlement.
Her plan is typical of an American woman, blow all her money and place a bet on finding a man to fund her retirement and lifestyle. Basically the same plan as a working woman of the night, or today in 2025 an only fans worker.
I can't tell you how many women I met in my Manhattan lifestyle and years in the Hamptons were exactly of this selfish mold. I see them on Facebook childless and vacationing with their divorced wealthy out of shape men. They are constantly taking selfies to gain the reassurance from others that they are happy.
True happiness is not requiring the approval of others, and forming a lifelong close relationship with your best friends and hopefully your life partner and providing for your family.
This movie is none of that. It's about pure selfishness and irresponsibility.

So many childhood actors destroyed their lives on drugs. As they say, Hollywood can chew you up and spit you out. Amanda Bynes In her prime was a gorgeous actress, who every teen guy had a crush on, then she devolved into a drug attic and dated all the wrong men. They threw her out like the trash. The next think you know Amanda Bynes is posting half naked photos on her various social media accounts, and then things really started going south. She got involved with an enabler loser, who took her down even further in her journey of self destruction. First she disfigured her face and body with tattoos and piercing; next she ate her way to gain nearly 80 pounds from 110 to 180.
It can only make you wonder where were her family and friends when she was diving into the abyss. Just another Hollywood tragedy like macaulay culkin or Linsey Lohan.
