Inception
(2010)

Quick Review
I enjoyed the acting and cinematography - but the script felt a bit "Doctor Who-ey".

Opposite to Sherlock where twists are made to reveal clever writing, the plot adds new ideas throughout to sort itself out in a linear fashion, despite the confusing nature of the film.

You Were Never Really Here
(2017)

A Leon the Professional__ (qv)
You know films that try to be edgy but just end up being a bit boring and weird? Well this is one of them. Phoenix and the cast mumble their way through the film with only unnecessarily loud, random noises keeping the viewer awake. Maybe Robert Di Nero should've forced the main cast member attempt a read-through of this film too.

The Usual Suspects
(1995)

Great but Predictable
Maybe it was because Spacey has recently been revealed to be the devil or because of Se7en but it seemed way too obvious throughout that Verbal was Soze. Still a good film though, don't mean to blow my own trumpet.

Lost: The Moth
(2004)
Episode 7, Season 1

Not Sure I Can Go On
Please can someone explain the hype for Lost.

It was this episode that made me realise how bad and boring the show was, and how awful the acting is.

Additionally, the interesting bit is that they had a plane crash and are lost on some fantasy island. I literally couldn't care less about one kid's drug addiction or anyone else's back story for that matter.

50% Great 50% Shocking Acting
They tried to Americanise it but after 20 years and a Hollywood botox the standards of acting appeared to get much worse. I don't know much about film making in the 50s but surely when someone acts terribly and then looks at the camera, can't you just cut the reel and try again?

Parks and Recreation: Campaign Ad
(2012)
Episode 12, Season 4

Great Episode
It's been a while since P&R made me laugh out loud (except the ice-slipping in the last episode), however, Andy Dwyer had me in stitches throughout.

Brexit: The Uncivil War
(2019)

Good Overview
Great overview of the Brexit scandal. I wish it had gone into more exact detail about how they targeted swing voters.

Additionally, the constant adverts were beyond annoying (if watching on Channel 4 or 4OD) and some of the actors were nothing like their political counterparts. Especially Michael Gove!

The Great Hack
(2019)

Good Story, Annoying Tellers
Interesting watch and great story telling, however, it really is a shame how pivotal Britney is to the story, as she is the most annoying person I've ever had to endure whilst watching a film. She definitely used her get-out-of-jail free card on this one, and seems like the type of person who will flip-flop sides to follow money rather than morals.

GoodFellas
(1990)

Classic? I don't think so.
This film doesn't compare to the gangster films and TV shows of today. Older generations probably think Goodfellas is a classic but their children and grandchildren will be reaching for their phones or switching over at some point in the film.

Bad Blood
(2017)

Just Watch Season 1
Season 1: Incredible story telling and dramatisation, mixed with real life events and dates.

Season 2: Cringe. Pure cringe made for the masses.

American Crime Story
(2016)

Only Watch Season 1
Season 1 was edge-of-the-seat gripping and extremely interesting, despite almost everyone watching knowing the final verdict.

Season 2 on the other hand is messy, weird, boring, and confusing. I'm two episodes in and have no more motivation to watch. Unlike season 1, season 2 offers no more detail about the assignation and personal lives than what you can find in a few clicks on google. The rest of the show just appears to be speculation. Finally, the acting isn't as great as in the first season.

Murder Mystery
(2019)

Easy to Watch
Finally! We all knew Adam Sandler could finally be in a movie this decade that wasn't unbearable and Netflix have managed to do that for us. This film is a laid back, slightly funny, and easy-to-Watch murder mystery that deserves nothing above and nothing below a 7 out of 10.

The Stand Up Sketch Show
(2019)

Awful
Unfunny comedians realise their comedy isn't very funny so try to add sketches to make themselves funny but they're still not funny.

Quicksand
(2019)

Far-Fetched but Enjoyable
Great show with great acting, however, the premise is way too far-fetched and the trial seemed to be way too short and simple, although I don't know hoe Swedish court works.

The Punisher: Flustercluck
(2019)
Episode 9, Season 2

Painful to Watch
The entire episode is painful to watch.

The blood splatter from the CGI looks like a failing college student was left alone with those scenes.

The dialogue within season 2 is awful but this episode really takes the biscuit. Not sure how people could vote it 8.8/10 when this episode is impossible to watch without cringing.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel: Simone
(2018)
Episode 1, Season 2

Unexpectedly Boring
It felt like years ago when I finished watching season 1 but it was still in my mind.

When I clicked 'watch' on season 2 episode 1 I was unpleasantly surprised.

I remember this show being joyous and funny and dramatic, however, you'll find that the start of season 2 begins boring, slow, bleak, and random.

I hope the season does pick up, if not, I'm not sure how much longer I will last.

The ABC Murders
(2018)

New Poirot Viewer
As someone who is watching Poirot for the first time I find it hard to understand where the disapproval is coming from, but I do accept it. I understand what it's like for an old book/film to be taken from you and smashed against a wall, only for the pieces to be picked up and replaced in in the wrong order.

I found Poirot fascinating, as well as all of the other characters, however, Rupert Grint's portrayal of a respectable detective was very far fetched, and the melodramatic Moaning Myrtle from Harry Potter was hard to watch.

Black Mirror: Bandersnatch
(2018)

Over-hyped
Almost painful to watch - at no point fun - and at no point your decision.

No matter what you choose the movie directs you the way it wants to, along a rather boring story path.

Wow, so you can choose which cereal you have, a whole two clips extra they had to film there. I can't imagine any film lover enjoying this.

Final Space
(2018)

Dissapointing
After the insane hype and incredible reviews I was expecting another Rick & Morty. Instead I got a slightly childish show, with no good plot, which is too gruesome and crude for children to watch. Not sure if I'll continue with the show. The green thing is funny.
