TIME: The Kalief Browder Story
(2017)

Wow, everyone should see this
The first episode started slowly..so I wondered about watching the rest. I am so glad I did because it really picked up after that. This incredible true story left me breathless. With a movie so real, it wasn't always easy to watch. You will need your tissues as what happened to this boy was beyond heartbreaking. Maybe the best documentary on Netflix. It is a story that must be told and it will be one you will never forget. I promise you that.

Designated Survivor
(2016)

Season 1-Great (10)..2-Good (8), 3-Awful (1)
If you made it to season 3, you probably liked it and were ready for more. I know I was. The third season is down right nasty and vulgar. A sex scene with men, more swearing than I ever remember on TV, and lots less excitement. I couldn't finish the episodes. Too bad because Season 1 was outstanding.

A Star Is Born
(2018)

Lady Gaga's performance a 10-she was amazing!
Wow, Lady Gaga was incredible in her singing and acting in this movie. If she doesn't win an award for her performance, something is really wrong. This helped make the movie enjoyable and the story was good. One of the top 5 movies of the year without a doubt.

Syriana
(2005)

Surprisingly slow
Yes, this movie had a lot of good actors in it. No doubt the acting was good especially George Clooney. However the movie really dragged. As soon as something exciting was going to happen, it would switch to another scene. There was often long lapses with little or no dialog with one waiting for something to happen. There was also a surprising lack of emotion from most of the minor actors in the movie creating an even duller situation.

It is a shame this movie was so poorly written, since I loved the idea for a movie. I do agree that the topic of this movie is very important. Hopefully some director and screen writer will run with a better script in the future.

A Prairie Home Companion
(2006)

Not nearly as funny as radio show
I went to see the movie in a theater which had no shortage of customers. Interestingly, I didn't see one time that more than 2 or 3 people were laughing. This is simply because this movie wasn't very funny. Sure one or two moments deserved a slight chuckle, but that was about it. It fell far short of the quality radio show that it was suppose to represent. The movie was constantly going from one scene to another which made it chaotic. This is especially true I'm sure for those not familiar with the radio program.

There were a couple positives that allowed me to make it to the end of the movie. The acting was actually very good. Meryl Streep and Woody Harrelson were especially outstanding. If you really like folk music, the music was fairly good. If you don't really like folk music, there is little chance you will like this movie. It doesn't offer much else.
