Black Mirror: The National Anthem
(2011)
Episode 1, Season 1

I get it, but I HATED it.
I understand the idea is the horror & fascination that social media has become. The public will watch backyard fights to the death, plays where someone is really killed, degrading garbage - but the public watches. So yes, it's a statement. But I didn't like it.

The Umbrella Academy
(2019)

Great show
I really like this show. It's not all about fighting monsters that don't exist and incredible back stories. I love the heart that has been put into the show, the music complements the scene in the lyrics and the style chosen. Every actor and role playing is spot on. The feeling of being different & alone is very strong for each of them. There's not a ton of swearing or sexual scenes. I hope they continue the story.

Homeless for the Holidays
(2009)

Excellent movie for everyone to think about.
I don't get caught up in acting, or how something is filmed; though I thought the acting was better than OK, and the filming was plenty professional. I liked the story. I believe we have a HUGE homeless problem, I'm sick of the gimmie at Christmas time, and I like the message of this story.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again
(2018)

So many 8-10 star reviews? Who are you kidding?
I love Abba, but this movie has terrible tracking, and is basically a place to put multiple ABBA songs. The father story was told in the original, and I think they should have left it alone. Again it stresses the story of the gorgeous, blonde, young girl from America screwing every boy she meets on her way to find herself. However, Lily James literally lights up the screen with her wide eyed optimism and vibrant personality. Cher was unnecessary. The only thing this movie did for me is make me want to watch the original Mamma Mia with Meryl Streep who is absolutely amazing. I don't know if she's auto-tuned but she's got an incredibly powerful and passionate voice. The original tracks much better, and tells a story. The second ignores everything from the first and goes off the rails.

Lucifer
(2016)

Unique, not your usual cop or supernatural show
I have liked this show from the beginning. Tom Ellis is perfect as the devil, and does an excellent job. The show has a lot to challenge the traditional; handsome, suave devil over an ugly one with horns. I love the line where he says something like, I'm tired of everyone blaming me for what they do, I didn't MAKE them do anything. There is a lot of truth delivered thru sophisticated humor and debonair acting. The Pierce/Cain story with Luci is intense at times, and you wonder if Cain will ever get the truth of how his curse will disappear. Note: just watched ep 20, he does. So...I love this show & want it to continue. Nielsen needs to fix their @*^&( rating system - I, & many like me, DO NOT WATCH TV - we watch whatever, whenever on the computer.

The Passion
(2016)

A cluttered unBiblical mess
Didn't like the way this was done. Started here, went there. Now someone's singing, why I don't understand. Tyler Perry talks, let's introduce the characters - that's good because I had no clue who they were by looking at them. Now there's Mary in a TIGHT royal blue dress with a bit of cleavage. I guess we're really going to take the Passion story in a different direction. Whether I am or am not a prude is not my concern here. Mary wouldn't have been caught dead in a dress that showed her body - modernized version or not. The audience and flashing to Orleans auditorium was distracting. Why do I have to write 10 lines? This is a ridiculous rule. I just wanted to say that this production was not worth my time to try to watch and was way off what I think the Bible would have portrayed as the story of Jesus in modern days.
